Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Insightly to manage our incoming over from customers including architects, contactors, and design firms. We use it as a database to track upcoming, in-progress, and completed. We use it to organize contacts and organizations. We also use it to collect customer email and phone number data for marketing purposes. Before using Insightly, this information was extremely hard to organize and track for all sorts of purposes. Gmail alone was not a useful tool in organizing this data.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Insightly for our Career Services Department which includes managing our student outreach, student academic records and placements, as well as, our employer outreach, job opportunities, leads, etc. We also use it for tracking our certifications and testing for students. We have six advisors and two other colleagues all of which use the system to track their outreach and document what they are doing on a day to day basis.

Pros

Allowing us to link multiple objects to one record to ensure congruity
Helping us be able to communicate with a large student base quickly while still documenting the outreach
Customization to allow us to use the database how we need it to be.

Cons

We have to do a lot of manual updates because we can only do filters on one type of record at a time unless we are looking at reports. It would be great if there was an ability to filter like we can on reports on fields in Insightly.
It would be great if there was more written documentation on creating validation rules because you currently only have videos and some of them the volume is to quiet which makes it hard to learn.
There is a limit of 8 filters per search but sometimes there is more that is needed.
There is also a limit to the amount of rules you are able to create on page views. We have 3 types of users in the system which has led us to only being able to make rules on pages for our advisors instead of for all of our users.

Insightly has helped us with tracking our employer outreach which has increased the number of jobs we have available for our students
Insightly has helped us with tracking our placement data for students which has helped us with providing better data for our accreditation.
Insightly has helped us to better interact with our continuously growing student base which has helped us be able to increase the amount of students we are working with instead of only focusing on our graduates.

Using Insightly for all our CRM needs allows us to empower our sales force, forecast appropriately and drive our business forward. We use as our account and contact database for sales and marketing activities; lead and opportunity follow up and project management. Insightly offers a cost effective, easy to use and comfortable platform. It is easy to understand and has a clear and user-friendly interface. It also integrates well into our Google based systems. I would not hesitate to recommend Insightly as a great CRM platform

We use Insightly as our CRM. We qualify warm leads, new sales and subscription renewals. We also use the marketing side for newsletters and other promotional emails.

As a non-profit, we rely on having the ability not only to store data in a meaningful and organized way but to be able to access it quickly.
We need to see who is using our services, who is donating, and what drives them to our organization. Insightly does this and is adaptable to our needs.

Cons

While customizable there are some things that they just cannot do that others can.
The force feeding of ai into all aspects of their product is a miss.
The Insightly CRM to Marketing connection is a bit clunky
Marketing UI is dated

Ability to see organization health from a more fully realized view
Able to remove silos of interactions folks were having with our team. We no longer just rely on self-reporting by team members this is automatically tracked and visibilized
