Community Insights

TrustRadius Insights are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, 3rd-party data sources. Have feedback on this content? Let us know!

Users frequently recommend Abacus for high volume law firms due to its user-friendly interface and ability to help with organizing filing and billing. They suggest attending the free trainings offered by Abacus for maximum benefit and emphasize the importance of establishing a good rapport with the customer service team for better support. Many users also recommend personalizing Abacus to suit their firm's specific needs, as well as trying it out to gauge its ease of use. Overall, users find Abacus to be an excellent program for keeping a law firm organized.

However, some users caution that AbacusAccounting may pose challenges for non-CPAs or bookkeepers. They advise reading the daily tips provided by Abacus to learn shortcuts in using the software and recommend being cautious about price increases, suggesting canceling in advance if necessary.

Lastly, users note that the desktop software is not compatible with Mac systems. Despite this limitation, users believe that Abacus is well-suited for small litigation firms, particularly if effort is put into learning and implementing the software effectively.

The whole organization uses AbacusLaw. The most important thing for us is security, which AbacusLaw provides but it is also nice for us all to be on the same page by having a calendar we all see and access along with other important information.
  • Security
  • Organization
  • Easy to use
  • Explaining new products or services in a way that is quick and easy to understand
AbacusLaw allows the whole law firm to be on the same page with access to a community calendar, billing, etc. It is a bit of a bummer that you need to put significant time into training to understand how to use AbacusLaw fully and get the most out of it. I wish there were quicker and easier ways to train and let people know about new additions.
  • We have been using Abacus (and previously Amicus) for so long it is hard to tell.
We have just used AbacusLaw but have looked into other similar products such as Clio and have been disappointed in what they offer compared to AbacusLaw.
The support is generally good and relatively quick BUT when there is a new product or something they want you to buy, I have felt a bit harassed at that point by sales but when I have an issue I don't feel like support jumps on it as quick.
