I chose Newswire over PR Newswire because I have had multiple bad experiences with Cision and PR Newswire. The experiences were bad enough and costly enough to our company that I wouldn't go back to anything with them in the future. I found that Newswire was perfect for our needs and much easier to deal with.

I like both services however the Newswire does not require a commitment or large downpayment for a year's worth of press release campaigns. For the small to mid-range business, it is easier to not have a large expense and to be able to get a release out with a short a fast turnaround time.

I believe they're owned by the same company. Cision offers more robust release products, but they were too much bang for what we needed. We just needed to get the word out and get inbound links and populated some SERPs. For that Newswire was plenty good, would use it again.
