Intermediate level and normal amount of patience needed to train yourself on how to use the software properly. If the time is taken to learn the tool, it will be highly rewarding.

If I had a virtual assistant, I might have him or her manage my lists more actively and continue to produce content. But since it is just me, I don't leverage the tool as much as I could.

General understanding of lead generation softwares it is enough. I have started with no knowledge about this particular software and it didn't take long to get used to. There is a lot of informational material on the platform and the customer service is great in case you get stuck.

If you have ever used any sort of customer retention or management software, you should be fine using ActiveCampaign. Some sense of developing is helpful so that you can build out effective campaigns that have the look and feel you are going for, but the simple WYSIWYG editor works great if your HTML/CSS skills are a little lacking. Play with it for a bit and you get things dialed in pretty quickly.

Basic understanding of the platform itself. You don't need any other technical or development skills to use any aspect of the platform. You do need to understand basic CRM architecture and list management.
