We were able to simply follow project progress and do basic analytics using our phones thanks to its mobile application. It helps us comprehend each touchpoint in the user journey inside our UI experience on a deeper level. With Adobe Analytics, you can react swiftly to shifting market conditions and grab opportunities as they present themselves.
  • The ability to input data from several sources makes it incredibly convenient.
  • It's crucial that this platform makes it easy for me to comprehend user behavior.
  • It offers comprehensive insights on the functionality of websites and applications.
  • Concerns about data privacy vary by location
  • The second is that it required a lot of server resources to operate Adobe Analytics.
  • For novice users, this tool might be somewhat confusing.
Along with this data preparedness, Adobe Analytics resolves several issues about data-driven choices and data manipulation. It's been beneficial and has improved the deliverables we make for our clients. We saw a double-digit percentage point improvement in conversion rates because of AA. Large datasets are easily visualized in a shorter amount of time.

Adobe Analytics is my "go to" tool when analysing websites, creating dashboards & undertaking discovery work. We do have other analytics tools available, but Adobe Analytics' Workspace module is generally the starting point. It enables me to quickly drag 'n' drop dimensions and metrics while initially exploring the data. Subsequently, I tend to remain on Adobe Analytics to create any required scheduled dashboards using its selection of tables and visuals. I feel Adobe Analytics better allows me to "analyse" whereas some other tools are more set up for basic "reporting".
  • Usability of its Workspace module
  • Ability to crunch large numbers without any sampling issues
  • Reliability - very rarely does anything error
  • Certain visual functionality is missing, especially when compared to Excel, e.g. in line graphs
  • Looker's dashboards land better with clients due to their improved look 'n' feel
  • For less experienced users improved on-page help and tooltips would be appreciated
Adobe Analytics is better than some other tools as it feels better set up for actual "analysis", rather than simply "reporting". The power of Workspace allows you to drag 'n' drop at ease which makes you are far more in control of your own analysis/discovery/exploration.

However, regards the final reports and dashboards' look 'n' feel the Workspace PDF output is lacking visually compared to other products like Google's Looker. To engage with less technical end users sometimes Looker feels the better, more polished option.

So we are a pretty high volume reference website, so the goals for us are probably a little bit different than somebody who might be e-commerce. Typically people come and rely on us for looking up definitions and synonyms. It's really our bread and butter between the dictionary and the source side. So from a business point of view, obviously that is our mission. We want to be a resource for education and for literacy from a business standpoint. We are largely ad-supported so that's a primary source of revenue. We think about ways to optimize the page to be able to try to get people to spend more time going to different pages. You know, like another big reference site. Wikipedia is famous for getting people going down Wikipedia rabbit holes. So we'd love to be doing the same stuff for etymology and words you know, things to get people to spend a little bit more time on the page.

From an analytics standpoint, we're using Adobe Analytics in a few ways. One is tracking KPIs, tracking revenue, tracking performance. We have certain ads that are getting low viewability and we need to make some tweaks and adjustments on it. We also love to use our Adobe Analytics as just part of general research.

For the content team, it's often the case that there are stories within the data that we find. A really good example of that recently for us was we just had our Word Of The Year towards the end of last year which is always a fun time of year for us. And we chose the word "woman" as the word of the year. And the big reason we did was that we looked at the data and there were a few of these key events where the very definition of the word woman became a pretty major story. You know, a bigger one was Ketanji Brown Jackson, who was confirmed to the Supreme Court. Somebody asked her, "can you define woman?" She, in a legal context, didn't try to provide the exact definition. But when that happened, as a dictionary, searches soared, searches went over by a factor of about 14 what they usually are. We saw it happen a few other times in the year, too. Just related to certain events with trans rights being at the forefront of so many things. That definition of woman has really become this flash point. It did come down to the data for us because the more we looked at it, the more of an obvious pick it was. But we do love when we can do things like that. Oftentimes some really interesting stories surface just in the words that people look up and how those change over time.
  • They've been really an industry standard tool in analytics for a long, long time. They've got the trusted brand and the reputation, a wonderful community behind it. It is always nice, having that level of support where you can meet other practitioners. It's a great benefit because I can meet other people who have already pushed the tool a lot farther than I have. And it's a great place to get ideas in that way. We came from a world where we were running on a homegrown system that we'd use to do click tracking. You get some advantages on that of the customization, but losing out on community of support was one of the big reasons why we decided to move beyond that and implement Adobe Analytics instead.
  • Our site has about 250,000 definitions pages on dictionary.com. We've got about 150,000 synonym pages across the source.com. So very high volume of pages. As you can imagine, most of these are pretty low traffic. You've got maybe that top 5%, 10% are really driving a huge amount of traffic, but then you have all these really obscure things out there. There's still a lot of important information you can get there and oftentimes in our Adobe Analytics reporting suite, it'll kind of bundle things at low traffic at a pretty low threshold for us to get to. So that can be a limitation when we're trying to do some really detailed keyword analysis. The way we've gotten around that is we make use of the data feed and the export. So we make the data available to our analyst in more of that raw state. So when they really do need to truly get into that weeds data, we don't run into that low traffic limitation.
Where it's particularly well suited, figuring out just the ins and outs of how we drive traffic to certain editorial articles that we're using. That Word Of The Year was a good example of that. We have a team of lexicographers that a few times a year put out collections of new entries. The thing about a dictionary is even in the old days when it was just print dictionaries, the day it goes into print is the day it starts going out of date. It really just has to constantly be updated. So we have a lot of good content that comes from the lexicographers team about which words are getting updates and why that is. We try to put some thought based on influence and how they organize their queue. If they find words that are particularly high volume, that might be a good reason to kind of get that up in the work queue, relative to where something else might be. For example, I know the team got really excited recently. Only the kind of thing a lexicographer can get excited about, but the word "at" can now be a verb because of all the use in Twitter of "Don't at me." So they added a separate entry for "at" to be a verb. That's just one of those words that you never even think about. So they got real jazzed about it.

So with using the tool, we love using it to spark ideas and to dig up ideas. It's testing our own performance. For example, we had to make some changes to our crossword last year, so we were keeping a very close eye on session duration and how long people were taking. And that time on duration, Adobe Analytics has it set up in the reporting. You can do it kind of bucketed into groups or you kind of run your straight average, which is helpful because that sort of data, you always have some wonky outliers that can skew it. So I find it really helpful to be able to show that distribution because if you take something like our crossword puzzle and games, that's something where we hope people can come play word games and learn, but obviously there are ads going along the side, too. We want to maximize that time. We use the tool to see if we've made these changes - is time going up or down - and we can adjust based on that.

Ours in an e-commerce business and therefore we always need tracking of what users are doing while they are using our platform either Desktop, Mobile Site or any of the Apps. Adobe Analytics helps us understand what channels and device are user using and what route are they taking to convert. It helps check the funnels and drop offs at each stage
  • Helps understand the Marketing Source and Device for Traffic, Orders and Revenue
  • Helps us understand how users are exiting at each stage of the journey
  • Informs about the Tech aspects as in Browser, Operating system, Mobile device being used
  • Implementation of Adobe Analytics is not that simple and hence need support of the experts
  • Latest release on the Geographies has started impacting the data
  • Adobe doesn't track the APPs on url basis
Adobe Analytics is well suited if you have huge team of ANalytics, Marketing, Product and Merchandising who are continuously checking the data and are able to create funnels/ fallouts/ reports and Dashboards to check the daily business. Also, if its an e-commerce business and you want to enhance the journey based on the gaps.

I've used Adobe Analytics in various companies and in various capacities to evaluate traffic for websites, mobile apps, and even connected TVs and streaming device apps. It is the primary reporting tool for all the KPIs in our organization. This covers all visitors, page views, video, advertising, and other events across the entire portfolio of websites within my purview as a product manager. We also segment all the data by visitor source, campaigns, device, platform and a variety of other conversion factors.
  • Quick report creation with workspace
  • Comparison of metrics
  • Segment creation
  • Custom metric creation
  • visualization of data
  • Set up of new sites
  • Speed of the service overall
  • Technical support
In my experience, set up of a new website in Adobe Analytics from scratch is absolutely atrocious. It is not ready to roll out of the box, unlike other web analytics software.

Adobe Analytics requires careful planning before deploying. This often is in the form of a spreadsheet with multiple columns for the various variables and events to be tracked as well as the classification of the variable. This could be a simple metric or a "conversion variable" which is still a simple metric, but one that can be correlated to other ones and track revenue. Literally simple variables in Adobe cannot do that.

This leads to the duplicate creation of various variables. Granted, Adobe does provide support staff as part of the contract, but this type of software should include some sort of turnkey setup with general metrics beyond a simple page view. Lastly, the need to double up metrics for both standard and conversion metrics feels ludicrously unintuitive to me.

We used Adobe Analytics to measure our website analytics. According to me, Adobe Analytics offers more features and flexibility than Google Analytics, but in order that it doesn't have free membership, Google Analytics is more commonly used.
  • Audience Insights
  • Accurate Website Data such as Number of Visitors, Visits, Bounce Rate etc.
  • Data Dashboard
  • can be seen as more appealing in terms of design
  • needs more integration with other marketing platforms
  • should offer free education
  • difficult to understand some features lack of reaching free resources
From my experience, customization was easier because we wanted to use some segmentations to include and exclude in our website analytics as we created segments by using our own membership data and IP addresses to exclude our employees' engagement for the correct measurement. I would say that Analytics data dashboards are not seen as appealing, it is possible to create appealing dashboards by using all design features and integrations in other analytics platforms but Adobe Analytics is so closed to integrate design features.

Adobe Analytics is used by data analysts and various power users to understand the status of the business, follow and monitor KPIs and also to analyze and understand what could have happened in the past and try to provide an answer or/and analyze various scenarios in order to take better informed the decisions that will drive potential revenues. It is used for a variety of purposes.
  • simple query
  • import and export data to excel
  • build automatic reports
  • forecast trends
  • Reporting tools
  • Self serve tool
  • Dashboard
This is a nice tool for any organization with enough data literacy maturity when you can have analysts and power users working alongside it. Obviously, you will need to have data ready and some data management in order to make this tool efficient and provide insights. If in your business you have enough data points to understand very well how your business is operating, this tool could be for you.

Adobe Analytics is being used for web analytics, tracking and web personalization in my organization. Website user behavior is tracked to optimize customer experience. Customer segments are created and shared with Adobe Target and Campaign for web personalization and targeting customers across multiple channels for a cross-device experience. Based on analytics reports, decision-making is enabled by understanding the most and least effective channels, products etc. Currently, Adobe Analytics is been used on an enterprise level and managed by my team which is the Marketing Technology team.
In my experience, Analytics combined with tag management solution such as launch helps my team to roll out new products on website with reduced TAT by adding tracking rules on webpages, testing them through debugger and adding values to the report suite.
  • Segment creation
  • Integration with other marketing cloud suite like campaign and target
  • Interactive report suite
  • Real time reporting
  • Report accuracy
  • Attribution modelling
  • Costing
  • Customer suppport
  • Training
Well suited for both web and mobile app setup using Adobe launch and mobile app extensions. If a client is using Adobe marketing product suite, then Adobe Analytics is most recommended as it integrates easily with applications and creates the best customer experience. Also, for enterprise clients with no cost constraints, Adobe Analytics works best.
However, for client with budget constraints, they can go with Google Analytics. Google Analytics provides web analytics solution on a very low cost as compared to adobe analytics. Also, for lower web traffic GA would provide same results as compared to adobe analytics. Also, if the digital marketing stack doesn't consist of any product from Adobe marketing cloud suite, then Adobe Analytics won't add any additional value like out of the box integrations.

We use Adobe Analytics across all of our digital estates, across the international business. Adobe Analytics gives us the unique opportunity to have data on a global scale, persistent across multiple CMS' and a vast digital suite. This means our brands are trackable across their own digital portfolios, despite the previous challenges we faced in gathering this amount of data across a wide number of digital platforms.
  • Tracking on scale
  • Detailed analysis
  • Persistent data
  • Improved inbuilt reporting
  • Data connectors outside of the Adobe Suite
  • More customizable (theming) options within workspace
Being able to really get to know and understand your data has been the biggest benefit of using Adobe Analytics. Your hand isn't held across the implementation stage, which can be daunting but ultimately is one of its strongest assets - as it can easily adapt to any integration strategy and be applied in many different ways.

Adobe Analytics is our primary analytics tool. We collect a wide spectrum of dimensions to allow us detailed information about our general usage, plus focused tracking for specific key flows to ensure that the business has the proper visibility to make decisions. This data is not only used in Adobe Reporting but it is also exported out for usage in our Data Lake. What is collected is constantly reviewed to ensure data is correct. Additionally, it is tweaked for improvements as we start to use the data in new ways and reports are created almost daily to help answer new questions coming from various teams.
  • The large number (and configuration options) for the dimensions and metrics that are available
  • The ability to create complex segments and calculations on the fly to look at any granularity of the data
  • The ability to correlate this data in the workspace, without a lot of limitations and visualize it in a way that makes sense to your needs
  • The ability to use virtual suites, which allow complex organizations to see the data at high levels as well as separated down without needing to make multiple tracking calls on the sites
  • There are a few instances where I can't quite show the info I would like in Workspace, meaning that I need to bring the data out to other tools (but most of the time this isn't needed)
  • I would love to be able to bring data from multiple suites into a single workspace visualization and use calculated metrics to add them together or perform other operations. Currently, this can only be done outside the tool in Excel - I can create multi-suite data visualizations across different panels, but the data from these panels have no interaction.
  • I would love some additional abilities to control the graphing labels because the generated labels often look pretty bad. While I can change most of them if I change the freeform table all the work I did reverts. Therefore, it would be awesome if we could right-click on the column and set visualization names there, so with any changes to the table the labels would pick up and auto-set. This means I would not have to fix them all manually again.
  • It would also be nice if processing rules received some improvements for more complex logic checks. This would make it easier to map context variables from Mobile SDK.
Adobe Analytics is most suited for large organizations. The cost of this tool makes the investment significant, but large organizations that use it to its fullest potential will also reap the most benefits. Adobe Analytics really is the industry leader in analytics capabilities, and when used right is easier to dig into the details you need. Smaller companies, particularly ones that aren't trying to do complex analysis, probably wouldn't find it to be an investment that is worthwhile.

We use Adobe Analytics at our organization as part of the Adobe Experience Platform to help us understand client interaction with our web properties including public web, online banking, and our application flows. We are able to take complex measurement plans that help us understand user engagement with features down to a component level and iterate in our sprints to improve our products utilizing the data we capture from our analytics implementation.
  • Full-featured, ability to capture any data point that is needed for your measurement in an easily reportable way with events, eVars, props, listVars, & classifications on top f these variables.
  • Heavily customizable, the ability to utilize your own logic to match your existing reporting & terms when setting up variables & events for tracking. If you wanted over 100 variables set whenever a page load, you could do it if your use case requires it!
  • Industry-standard, originally named Site Catalyst, Adobe Analytics has a history in this space of being an innovator and adapting to the space as it has dramatically changed over the years. From Adobe Launch to custom code implementations, to DXM event forwarding, Adobe Analytics has a path for the next 5-10 years to still be extremely relevant to your organization.
  • Cost, the price might be prohibitive if you're a small business or team, but if you're an enterprise, it's completely worth it.
  • The learning curve, having a specialist on your team or working with a partner will be beneficial as due to flexibility and customization options, implementation work can be daunting if not working with Adobe implementations regularly.
Adobe Analytics has been absolutely fantastic for us to understand our customer engagement with our products, and address where fallout/funnel issues occur with funnel events. It has also been very adept at handling cross-domain analytics so that we understand where our clients' product interest is after visiting our unauthenticated website. We've been able to create dashboards for each segment of the business for them to understand how their specific segment is performing and its impact on the non-online business metrics.

I have used many platforms for tracking customer behaviours, web, and mobile analytics. But so far, for e-commerce businesses, Adobe Analytics has been the best analytics platform which has helped us to track accurate data metrics such as conversions, sales, conversion rate, revenue, e-commerce revenue, etc. However, the platform is not suitable for small or medium-sized businesses as it gets very expensive as you would want to integrate other software or use tags for tracking.

Adobe Analytics is our company's primary source of performance measurement for all aspects of our B2C website. We utilize Adobe Analytics as the 'version of the truth' in supporting business decisions relating to A/B test and experience optimization campaigns, reporting to senior management, and providing deep analysis on all aspects of our digital marketing. Adobe Analytics provides the quickest viewpoint to measure of campaign performance from email, SMS, and digital marketing.
  • Real-time access to website performance throughout the entire digital experience.
  • Flexible & comprehensive custom report building using the Analytics Workspace tool
  • Integration with other Adobe solutions (Adobe Target, Adobe Launch) to provide a single viewpoint for all aspects of digital performance.
  • Level of technical effort needed to implement Adobe Analytics is VERY high
  • Adobe Analytics customer support could be more responsive.
  • Dependency to train team members is quite high. Each team member MUST go through several exhaustive training classes to be able to take command of the solution on the day to day basis. Training is VERY expensive.
If you're looking for the gold standard in web performance measurement, that provides a very detailed perspective of all aspects of your digital performance, then Adobe Analytics is a great solution. Before deciding on Adobe Analytics, one must be prepared to take on the integration work which is very time-consuming and difficult to get right with the initial implementation. [In my experience], Adobe's support with integration was lacking unless you're willing to [put] up the big dollars to bring on their consulting team to do the work. There are many development companies out there that can also do the work for 25-25% less than the Adobe consultants. Integration is HARD, but if you are committed and can get the work completed, then you'll be VERY happy using this amazing platform for your performance measurement.

We've implemented Adobe [Analytics] for the following use cases:
Tag management
Web Analytics
Error tracking and alerts
Conversion tracking and reporting
Audience creation for retargeting
UTM tracking Integration with Adobe Audience Manager
  • Very comprehensive set of tools to customize reporting through the data layer
  • Workspace is very intuitive and data visualization is instantaneous
  • Set up has been made a lot easier through a UI based implementation
  • Support for implementation is lacking
  • Resource intensive set up which can be complicated to learn
  • Not having access to all features by default and having to pay additional money for locked features
Well suited for large scale websites with complicated user journeys. Large organizations will benefit as they can spend more and pay for the implementation to be done by the Adobe consultants. One could also utilize other Adobe platforms and integrate with [Adobe Analytics] for a holistic marketing setup. For SMEs it's a little difficult to recommend unless you don't like the alternatives.

We use the data from reports to gain insights into marketing programs that will help senior management understand return on investment from our marketing efforts using the dashboards that we can create through Adobe Analytics. It solves the issue of trying to come up with key performance indicators from various marketing activities.

  • Data analytics
  • Real-time data
  • Raw data export
  • Too much reliance on third-party integrations
  • More powerful for larger/complex companies

Adobe Analytics is well suited to two main areas for our organization. Adobe Analytics helps us track data about email campaigns in real-time so we understand the best times to deliver content, and how that content is engaged with by our target audience. The other area is our website data. We have used the analytics to customize content for prospects we're interested in.

With Adobe Analytics, marketers can measure e-commerce conversions, traffic, engagement, and engagement with their marketing campaigns. The Adobe Analytics program helps determine how many sessions and customers land on a product or marketing banner page. Marketing professionals can know how long people spend on landing pages by tracking how many sessions they have. A conversion KPI measures how much sales a marketing tactic, such as email or social media, contributed to the sale of a particular product. Aimed at helping marketing and merchandising teams optimize the customer funnel, Adobe Analytics provides them with actionable data-driven insights to increase ROI.
  • Especially noteworthy about it is the dynamic interface, which makes it easier for users to find the exact functionality they are looking for. My digital analytics needs are met by all of the solutions provided.
  • Adobe Analytics' best feature is automation.
  • Its interface is simple and intuitive.
  • A real-time report is not available for uploading to a web page for us to generate data.
  • To be able to customize the web behavior report generation and to better understand how it works, it should incorporate more elements.
Many reporting projects can benefit from Adobe Analytics. During the live period of a campaign, we can track its performance, for example. Utilizing Adobe Analytics may be able to help us locate the errors if we are experiencing them as well. Quick calculations are a situation where Adobe Analytics may not be as effective as other tools. Excel and Report Builder are both better alternatives for quick calculations.

We implement Adobe Analytics for our clients where we assess that their analytics needs would be best suited by the platform. It often addresses end-to-end challenges in reporting, attribution and helps to solve for gaps in a client's digital transformation. Most often the adoption of Adobe Analytics is company-wide, but the analytics practitioners are the ones in it the most often.
  • Custom reporting
  • Custom dashboards
  • Channel attribution
  • Real time reporting
  • The learning curve can be complex for new users.
  • A lack of out of the box connectors for other platforms.
  • Transactional and e-commerce based metrics can be off at times.
For companies that are new to analytics or already have an investment in Adobe, I feel that Adobe Analytics is a great fit and will enhance their investment with the other platforms. For folks who need more detailed analytics, a BI tool or a CDP might be the answer depending on requirements. The reporting and dashboard elements can be very useful if configured properly.

The platform is being used to consolidate a large number of data sources, similar to Google Analytic, but it also helps to observe trends, analyze data and assist the data analysts in their research and findings. In terms of the problems being solved, we had issues with visibility with Google Analytics, which Adobe solves.
  • Consolidates data from multiple sources.
  • Visualization of data.
  • Tools to help you make sense of data.
  • The interface is a bit clunky with too many features on the screen at once, it can be hard to find things you need if you are new to the platform.
  • Better search functions.
Adobe is suited when you are consolidating multiple data sources that are offline and online. It is not as useful when you have a minimal amount of sources, such as one or two. Overall, it's great to see a topline overview of your campaign as well as analyzing the data using their data visualization tools.

Adobe Analytics is used mainly by the client services department, as well as the corporate marketing team. The program allows our account managers to better assess clients' digital marketing successes. While there are many ways to analyze data and reporting, Adobe Analytics has proven to be a constant and successful platform to make confident decisions for our clients' marketing goals. It addresses business problems such as traffic sources, engagement, segmentation of audiences, and more.
  • The platform itself and interface are easy to learn and use. It isn't overly complicated for new users and the reporting is easy to understand.
  • It's easy to personalize your dashboard and reporting to fit your organization's needs and goals.
  • Ability to integrate with other tools / allows for less steps in campaign planning and reporting.
  • Community forums and customer service could improve with more detailed questions and answers.
Adobe Analytics is great for setting up personalized reporting and goals for your organization. It's also great for measuring web activity and success of specific landing pages, etc.

We use Adobe Analytics to quickly analyze and make decisions on how to proceed with tactics on our various web properties. Being able to visualize deep - dive metrics on user behavior helps us pivot and make decisions on what to focus on to get he best results from our time.
  • User behavior
  • Customer pathing
  • Traffic source details
  • Drag and drop dashboards
  • Reporting visuals
[Adobe Analytics is] fantastic if you need to see many data points in one place and not just focus on generalized metrics. May not be so good if you are not familiar with how to dissect and take actionable steps on customer journey and site data. Recommended for any business with multiple web properties and at least 50K site visit per month.
