I use Adobe Dreamweaver to write and create our monthly newsletter and other HTML projects. It is a great tool to be able to lay it out and see my work before posting it. I am a jack-of-all-trades so it is simple to use for all my projects. I like the fact that it comes with Adobe Creative Cloud and I can use it across multiple tools. If you work directly with code, you need to use Dreamweaver. It lets you work with HTML, CSS, and others. Just the fact that you can preview how the code will work is a huge selling point.
  • Live View Editing
  • Code Suggestions
  • jQuery Integration
  • files Panel for Multiple Projects
  • Price
  • Learning curve can be steep.
  • There are better visual editors
One of the issues I've had is our company newsletter. I use MailChimp to send it but the template I chose does not work well in MailChimp. My work-around is that I host the template in Adobe Dreamweaver and then code the new newsletter content in the tool. This allows me to choose the "Code Your Own" option in MailChimp. I simply paste in the code, make any tweaks, and then I can send it to my subscribers.
  • The ability to write code directly into Dreamweaver.
  • Live view editing
  • Multi-monitor support is awesome when writing a lot of code
  • We pay $600 a year for one license of Adobe Creative Cloud. Dreamweaver is included in that. It costs $99 a month for Mailchimp. I send out 4 newsletters every year. I average 15 inquiries a quarter for our product. Those 15 inquires result in average of 6 sales averaging $90,000 a quarter or $360,000 a year. So the investment of $1000 a year is worth it.
  • The learning curve is steep. There are so many features and functions I still don't know. Depending on your files that you open, you could have different things to look at and it can be intimidating.
  • It is really easy to get a lot of unnecessary paragraphs in my code. I have a terrible habit of hitting enter on my keyboard. This adds a lot of lines of code in the end and makes it difficult to identify problems in the end.
Google Web Designer is what I used to use but Dreamweaver was better. Google did not offer the functionality I needed. Google was also messy and had limited design options. Google seems better for creating animated banners or animated photos, but not for designing a full website or designing HTML.

Adobe Dreamweaver software is very useful especially for web designer. It is very simple to use. All key features are really very good and simple. The most important fact that it comes with my Adobe Creative Cloud subscription and is easy for me to update website files like HTML, CSS, and other related file formats.
  • Very simple to write code in Dreamweaver editor
  • Auto Complete feature is great
  • Spell Check, Syntax Checker functionality is very good
  • very complex system
  • it is costly
  • setup file is big
Dreamweaver allows toggling between live view, code and design views. This makes it one of the easiest platforms to make changes quickly to either code or design elements. Undo function is the most important functions, and it’s still not working perfectly. You won’t have any problem with it when coding in Dreamweaver, but web design might suffer.
  • Auto Complete tag feature is really good
  • Spell Check, Syntax Checker function very helpful features
  • Simple and Easy to use
  • It is very easy to use so we can fast write the code
  • User workspace and features are very good so we can do quality work
  • Sometimes when open the file directly from server, it hangs
No I haven't used any other software. I am using Dreamweaver from many years. Dreamweaver is efficient, consistent, customizable as per need, live rendering, and easy to upload using inbuilt FTP feature. Adobe Dreamweaver is very good for designing and coding. Dreamweaver is a very basic and straightforward tool for me.

Adobe accounts are required for the degree, and Dreamweaver is its own course at BSC. We sample other HTML editors, but Dreamweaver is the standard. It addresses the need for speed as you enter code, as well as the need to remember elements and properties- you don't need to with Dreamweaver. It suggests what you need and makes editing and design more in-depth.
  • Noting errors by line
  • CSS editing
  • Providing code - You don't need to type everything out
  • Space - you have to download the software on your hard drive
  • Cost - It's a monthly subscription and not open source
  • RAM - You need enough RAM to run Adobe products, and if you don't have enough it will crash and you can lose hours of work.
It's perfect for Web Development and Web page design despite its errors. Better for different computers, and devices with more storage and power.
  • Accessibility - It provides and easy to read and see interface.
  • Speed - Its fast as soon as you learn it.
  • Cost - The cost is reduced for students.
  • Learning curve - not everyone grasps it fast.
  • Overall cost on students.
  • Errors and crashing are occasional but not welcome.
Adobe Dreamweaver is probably the best software for students because you don't need to know HTML, or CSS to use it. However, once you learn it, it fits like a glove. The interface is comfortable, the options, the ability to edit webpages live, and the error tracking ability are great. When you move on to JavaScript it's still a great interactive software. Of course, there are far better JavaScript editors. There certainly are areas to improve, and there's free software out there along with some browser-based ones. I'm not married to Dreamweaver, but it's easy to become content with it.

Adobe Dreamweaver is a web design and development tool. We have used [Adobe] Dreamweaver in the past as part of both the design, development, and deployment of websites and web applications. The FTP deployment solution included with [Adobe] Dreamweaver makes administering legacy websites that do not utilize modern deployment implementations extremely simple.
  • Website Organization/File Management
  • FTP Deployment
  • Design/Preview Mode
  • Needs Adobe ColdFusion Support
  • Dreamweaver Should become a full-fledged IDE
  • Better source code tools like comparable IDEs
[Adobe] Dreamwevaer is suitable only for legacy websites at this point that requires FTP deployment. It is unfortunate that Adobe doesn't officially support their own development language, ColdFusion (CFML) in their own tools despite supporting other languages like PHP. As a result, I would not use [Adobe] Dreamweaver on any modern website project.
  • FTP Deployment
  • Intelligent Code Editor
  • Design view
  • Negative impact due to lack of ColdFusion support
  • FTP Deployment is a nice feature to have for legacy sites
Unfortunately, [Adobe] Dreamweaver is an inferior website design and development tool by modern standards. While [Adobe] Dreamweaver has its place for legacy websites or for teaching young developers the basics of HTML and CSS, I would not recommend using it for any modern project. You would think Adobe would support its own development language, ColdFusion (CFML) in its products, but sadly it does not. Adding official CFML support would go a long way with Adobe customers and would be a tremendous addition to Creative Cloud and Dreamweaver as a standalone product.
