(1-3 of 3)airSlate offers Great Automation Options and Great Value
Because of our success with and use of airSlate for personnel processing, we have assisted our finance department in implementing the use airSlate to automate their capital request and check request processes, as well as our counterparts in the County utilizing airSlate for their personnel processing.
- The bots are fantastic, so many to use to really increase functionality
- User friendly for those who are first time users, and the system just gets easier and easier to use with experience
- The email notifications for bot failures are very much appreciated, we know right away if something is not functioning
- The customer technical support to assist with flow issues, they are quick to respond and assist until the problem is solved or the flow is functioning as envisioned
- Regular updates to the platform for improve functionality
- If this system could provide an easier mass export of flow data, or completed forms
- Mass exports of flow data requested to be provided to email do not always come through, especially if there is a lot of data, the export just fails with no notification of the failure
- When scrolling through slates, when the system is loading more, it is easy to lose your place because when the new slates load, the list shifts
airSlate is great for one off forms, we have used it to automate our gym waiver to be signed off by HR, then sent to our badging team to provide access to the gym facilities to our employees. We do not need to use paper for this process anymore at all.
airSlate is great for requiring attached documents in order to process certain paperwork, meaning that paperwork cannot be submitted without the requested documents being provided. If we process a name change form, we need certain proof, so building the automation through airSlate means we should have a completed set of documents in order to process on our end.
Processing payments is great, we have a flow for our team Water Club and payment can be processed via credit card through the slate rather than trying to track people down for cash.
I wish there was a bot to include individualized documents with a slate before it was sent, the versioning helps, but is not ideal. For example, it is very easy to include a personalized offer letter and job description, dropping fields for signature and date when we send envelopes through DocuSign. It is not as easy to individualize a template within airSlate, so I wish there was a bot that would allow the same functionality of putting person specific documents into a template and adding signable fields prior to sending.
- airSlate being a subscription rather than per slate model has saved a lot of money overall, allowing us to create what we NEED rather than limiting our needs because of the cost and limit of a per envelope model
- Time is saved because we do not need to constantly contact people for specified information as we can require the information we need and if the information is not provided the slate cannot be completed
- Time is saved because we have digital forms completed with digital signatures, and these forms do not need to be filed into employee personnel files, we can save them as batches
airSlate tends to be the first platform I consider when automating because of the option for bots, but if I need to export the data collected on a mass scale, PDF Filler is better suited for this outcome, or if we need to add person specific documents to a template, DocuSign is better suited for this need.
If airSlate could make mass exporting of all completed slate data easier (and not having to be done a few at a time) or allow for easier upload of person specific documents into an existing template, we could drop the other platforms all together.
airSlate also notifies us if there is an issue with a bot, whereas we have had people attempt to complete their envelopes through DocuSign, and for whatever reason, they were unable to and the documents had to be provided in a different form or through another platform in order for the employee to complete.

Not a solution for everything
- Contracts and signatures all in one place
- Bot automation with a learning curve
- Bot automation is not as easy to understand as represented
- Each workspace is a separately billed space but there are no sub-workspaces
- Actual customization of roles - Admin role is the best default for everyone in your team if you want to do less than "do everything for everyone".
- We now have a single place all employees can go to send and receive signatures and contracts for the business as a whole.
Workspaces are basically all-in-one areas that cannot be used to efficiently sort or distribute information. I have 40 accounting clients and can't sort ANY of the documents I sent them by workspace so I have to go hunting for them. This makes this platform essentially JUST a signature collecting station and not one for more. The bot automation is also confusing. Everything I set up, even based on notes, MUST be reviewed by support because it never works right for me.
- Signing annual tax returns
- Employee Payroll data including W4, i9, W9, Direct Deposit forms
- Client Service Agreements between our company and our clients
- To maintain a digital history of signatures and documents sent via airSlate
- Sending a signature request
- Storing or downloading an already signed document
- Providing access to other team members
- Getting flows with bots to work
- Signer only account creation just to sign a document
- No way to handle duplicate information on the same form with a pre-filled form to one the bot fills out - i.e. the name on page 1 with another name box on page 2 of the pdf form.
Great for onboarding and recruiting
- Ease of use by applicant to fill out form.
- Can export data to CSV.
- Form fields are pretty customizable.
- The editing of PDF functionality can be more robust.
- Mass sending of slates, such as with QR code.
- When making a change to a flow document with fields, not having to start completely over from scratch but being able to easily copy field settings to new flow.
It's not that great if your process is constantly changing as it is not easy to add pages to a current document. You have to upload an entirely new document and start the form fields from scratch.
- Saved time and money in not having to print paper applications, scan them in the computer, and shred paper.
- There used to be lines of people waiting as they completed paperwork in person. Now, they complete it at home and don't have to wait in line in person. It has improved our customer service ability.
- We don't lose anyone's paperwork!
- Employment application
- Onboarding application
- That's about it.
- There is none that has been sustainable. We tried it for internal documents, but there were too many approvers that wouldn't do their part and it would break the process.
- Internal documentation, such as separations, if it wasn't so confusing to set up and manage.
