We like to encourage users to help themselves. This allows us to be pretty lean on support headcount. Having said that, we spend a lot of time on enablement, office hours, etc., to ensure the users have opportunities to learn new things and a venue for asking questions.

Alteryx requires some super users to also double as support. The key is to have an intermediate understanding of Alteryx tools. It is also helpful to have someone with more technical experience, such as a DBA, to assist with any server issues or upgrades.

The Thrill of Solving Supply Chain Problems
This is more of a guess, but some support it from a relationship management standpoint (Procurement, for example), while others more directly support it from and IT perspective with instructions related to upgrading, Alteryx Server/Gallery, etc. This is just a ballpark guess for me, but it there is a informal team of folks that have stepped up to manage these things.

We have a small team dedicated to support Alteryx across the firm. This team is hosting Alteryx monthly user meeting and share useful Alteryx tips and case studies. Also they maintain Alteryx internal user groups including question and answer boards. They are very fluent in terms of Alteryx technical skills.

In-house IT handles product installation and licensing, but when it comes to questions about how to use the product, we only have one resident expert, and he was formerly a customer support rep for Alteryx for a number of years. It takes years to build expertise in such a powerful and wide-ranging software.

There are 3 employees dedicated to Alteryx support. They manage upgrades, issues, questions, and permissions. They also manage the server. We also have a support person with our account at Alteryx, and they also help with issues but mainly offer training and help to users.
