Service up-time and other reliability factors are outstanding for EC2, and self-service using the AWS Console and CloudWatch is sufficient for the most part. Occasionally we hit blockers but there's still the community forum in case we need to get some help from the customer support or other members in the community.

AWS's support is good overall. Not outstanding, but better than average. We have had very little reason to engage with AWS support but in our limited experience, the staff has been knowledgeable, timely and helpful. The only negative is actually initiating a service request can be a bit of a pain.

There are so many different tutorials and documentation available online on how to use EC2. In addition, it is so widely used that most developers have experience using the various Amazon services. Amazon also provides paid services where they offer support for whatever your specific needs may be. The admin console is also very details and has a great user interface, making it easy to figure things out on your own.
