  • All of our brand domain names (about 80 brands) are managed in there
  • Many non marketing or brand domains are also in there
  • There isn't any defined ROI because it's such a trivial and necessary service with impacts all business operations

  • Domain registration and all the other services are used from Route 53, you will be able to get the cost cut from Amazon.
  • I would totally go with AWS Route 53 due to its security postures with which it comes with, this can be big deal.
  • As everyone know, Route 53 is paid service, so when you are an organization with many Accounts and use cases of AWS services. All your billing of your organization can be bundled in one, in this case you can minimize the tracking of bills separately also Amazon will be able to give more competitive cost plan, so your Route 53 cost will also be reduced.

  • The cost in terms of time and money of using Route53 is near 0, so the ROI will be driven by whatever expenses you're incurring from your other DNS services.
  • DNS is just one of those basic components of existing on the web; It's not particularly tied to a business objective beyond existing in the first place-- you MUST use a DNS provider. Route 53 is a good default choice.

  • Good integration with AWS services.
  • Not necessarily cost-effective, depends on your usage. Check what you can get using other services and their price.

  • Allowed flexibility with our web apps, giving us routing and failover options that could be customized to a satisfying degree.
  • Took a long time to migrate off of when we moved some of our web applications to Azure; would've been preferable to simply switch the url endpoints instead of transferring the domain name itself.

  • Reduced cost of management -- The Route 53 servers are managed by Amazon, so there is no need to have additional staff to manage and secure DNS servers.
  • Low cost to run -- Route 53 is very cost effective, and overall spend is based on the amount of DNS traffic generated each month.
