Users and customers have reported success in automating business processes, improving productivity, and streamlining operations. Organizations have utilized Appian to replace manual paper-based systems, enabling online applications, document uploads, and simultaneous stakeholder reviews. This has greatly enhanced collaboration and cross-referencing of applications between different organizations.

In the healthcare sector, Appian has been instrumental in automating patient registration, diagnosis, and treatment workflows, eliminating paper-based processes and connecting patients with doctors and departments in a faster and more streamlined way. The platform has also been widely used for low code development and migrating older applications to the Appian code base. Additionally, Appian's capabilities in digital transformation and data analysis have allowed departments to study their own data and generate insightful reports.

Users have found Appian to be particularly beneficial for managing processes in areas such as trade reporting, client mailing process automation, onboarding new hires, workforce planning, case management, consumer marketing lists generation, CRM management, retail store remodeling, and even setting up cafes. They appreciate its ability to simplify complex tasks, automate mundane processes, and integrate with various systems. Furthermore, reviewers have commended Appian for its performance and scalability in handling large volumes of data and processes.

Overall, Appian's flexibility, customization options, user-friendly interface, collaboration features, advanced analytics capabilities, seamless integration with other systems, and overall capability for rapid development and deployment have made it a reliable choice for organizations looking to streamline operations and improve efficiency.

Additionally, the ability to tailor processes for specific business needs and configure processes for new business users is seen as a major advantage, contributing to the software's adaptability.

Inflexible and Expensive License Model: Some users have found the license model of Appian to be inflexible and expensive, making it challenging for them to include end customer processes due to limitations in named user licenses or big bang packages.

Limited Exporting and Data Analysis Capabilities: Reviewers have mentioned limitations on exporting data to Excel, causing inconvenience for users who need to analyze large amounts of data. They have also encountered issues with the date-time stamp of exported data, leading to problems in data analysis.

  2. Create evaluation criteria and apply a defined score to each platform for an informed decision. Users suggest defining specific criteria to evaluate different platforms and assigning scores to objectively compare them. This approach helps in making an informed decision when selecting the most suitable platform.

  3. Develop a small Proof of Concept (POC) to determine the requirements before deploying Appian. Users recommend starting with a small POC to understand the specific requirements and capabilities of Appian within the organization. Appian support services are not up to the mark, especially the responding speed when it comes to any issue or just a basic support. This definitely needs to be improved.

They have an easy contact channel and are really quick in their response. However, sometimes you wonder to know more about what they are doing to solve the issues in order to learn more about your own environment and why things happen, but you only get a small grade of detail on incident resolutions.

Appian is a great tool for business process automation and so is their support. Their support is spread across regions and we get responses very quickly when we approach them for any issues or general queries. We also have a great Appian forum and community which we can use as first-hand info for any troubleshooting.

As a beginner in Appian, it was pretty easy and interesting for me to learn the tool. There is a lot to learn in the tool implementation; user interfaces, processmodelsl, expression rules, constants are fun to do the development.

Working with Appian support and development has been outstanding. They are quick to respond and very receptive to feedback. There is also a large customer user community that they try to foster connections by geography, industry vertical that allows the sharing of information and provides an additional avenue for feedback.

The support is not that good and the coordination can improve. Support is limited and time-zone bounded. Some nice articles or solutions to problems can help in overcoming difficult tasks. Some small video support will also make a difference. Some more advertising of community work will make people aware of the situations.

My organization has had very few issues with Appian overall. However, when we did, Appian support was always willing to jump on a call and assist us to mitigate the issue. My organization also hosts reoccurring calls with Appian where they suggest future enhancements that will optimize our business processes.

I like it for support because process models error only in the backend and users can complete their work as if no error occurred. Also, I like to be able to easily access Designer, the cloud database, and the app. I like the search feature in the designer when looking for interfaces or expression rules.

Appian is one of the leading low code business automation platforms that support RPA, decision rules, case management, workflow automation, and machine learning all in a single bundle. But it is also harder to implement and replace the traditional business process.

My team has worked closely with Appian support of a number of issues and requests for information. Their support team is both professional and timely in their responses. All of our developers heavily use Appian's provided library of functions, recipes, and examples. We have also had decent success using the Appian community to find development solutions.

I gave a rating of eight because Appian is very useful for many business solutions. I think there is room for Appian to grow and I think there is great potential for Appian to become vital for many industries. I hope to see even more features and innovative ideas come from the Appian team in the future.

Most of my support comes from the stakeholders internally. I didn’t get the opportunity to work with the appliance directly in terms of support. Given the internal resource constraints, we sometimes experience delays in the support, which we expect on open issues. Given that I didn’t deal with Appian support directly, I can’t provide a well-defined answer.

Good responsiveness, very competent, and only sometimes the resolution for the issue reported is not 100% satisfactory. The Appian community is a great help for quick answers to some of the queries. Appian could be improved when it comes to proper documentation for the plug-ins. The native Appian documentation portal should also be improved by providing more info on the objects that Appian supports.

Appian employees answer every question and follow up on almost every request. They are professional and the product platform is stable and predictable. We push the platform to its limits and it (platform and staff) is capable and engaged to support both our end-user load, our business users, our developers, and our additional technical users.
