Apple iCloud is relied upon by users to securely store and backup their photos, videos, and other media files. This provides peace of mind for nomadic travelers and ensures data security for business endeavors. Business teams find value in iCloud as it serves as an additional data repository, automatically backing up media files like photos, mobile settings, calendars, and contacts. This ensures accessibility from any device and promotes collaboration within the team. The standout feature of iCloud is the ability to access documents, photos, music, and videos from any device, making it convenient for presentations and effective teamwork. It is particularly popular among all-Mac shops due to its seamless syncing and compatibility with various Mac and iOS apps. Additionally, iCloud facilitates the syncing of videos, photos, and documents across different Apple devices, allowing for easy editing and sharing. Organizations utilize iCloud for storage and synchronization of documents and applications on Apple devices, especially in fieldwork scenarios and BYOD environments. Individual users appreciate iCloud for its quick on-the-go backup of mobile files and the convenience of accessing files from any Apple device. In educational settings, iCloud enhances learning experiences by creating cloud backups of Apple applications, enabling students to access their documents from different devices.

Users have provided several recommendations for using Apple iCloud. The most common recommendations are as follows: Start with the small storage option to test compatibility, be fully invested in the Apple system for optimal use, consider pricing and multi-platform access when choosing a storage plan. Additionally, it is recommended to consistently back up devices, check compatibility with current device ecosystem, configure settings for automated backups, and be cautious with settings to avoid unintended consequences. Users emphasize that Apple iCloud is a reliable tool for keeping data safe and accessible but caution that iCloud Drive may not be suitable for non-Apple users.

I use Apple iCloud and have used it for a long time now. I use it to back up everything across multiple platforms. It has my contacts, important dates, photos, videos, and files. It is being used across my company and it addresses the worry of not having my important items backed up. I have had times where devices have failed and iCloud has backed me up and given me the reassurance that things are safely backed up.
  • It is a clean platform.
  • It is user-friendly.
  • It is accessible wherever you may be
  • Accessibility of photos on desktop platform.
  • App options on desktop.
  • Automatically backs up files
It is well suited for a small company or business that needs to have multiple user access and uploading options. It is clean and straightforward, for the most part, and gives the user or users the ability to find what is important to them when they need to be able to find it.

  • It has allowed me to find what I need.

They are different platforms but both reliable and easily used by those who need to access and use it. I am a happy customer for both Apple iCloud and Boomr and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to use and purchase something to give them the reassurance and peace of mind that things are where they are meant to be.

Apple iCloud allows the people in our organization to access files and photos that are needed and easily found. It makes it simple for users to access images in particular whether at work or home or even on the go. This is an excellent feature and has proven to be reliable.

Users must understand how to login into Apple iCloud and how to use it’s system and interface. Once the basic comprehension is in place it is pretty straightforward. Users can access calendars, photos, files among other items that are easily accessed through the iCloud platform. It is a great way to share important information.
  • Easy access

  • To have iCloud be shared with more employees
I gave Apple iCloud this rating because I have found it’s reliability and easy access to put my mind at ease. It is a good feeling knowing that important information is kept safe.

I do not think that I would change my evaluation and selection process.
I have had to use Apple's customer support before and have been impressed with the ease and accessibility that comes with having them answer what was necessary to fix a problem and make something right. I have had multiple times where people have been helpful and understanding when necessary.
I have not purchased premium support but I do pay a monthly fee for my iCloud to be backed up. I believe that it is secure and accessible and it puts my mind at ease knowing my files are safe. I have also used Apple extended support for issues with certain products.
No
I could not figure out how to clear files and space from my iCloud and found it very helpful. The agent who assisted me was able to help me clear the space necessary and it alleviated the frustration that was felt prior to being able to move forward with iCloud function.
I find Apple iCloud’s overall usability to be straightforward and user friendly. It is a clean interface with icons that are easy to access. My overall experience which has been long-standing is a positive one that I would recommend this product to someone who is looking for a product like this.

We have around forty Macintosh Servers and our IT staff uses company provided iPhones. We use Apple iCloud on all of these devices. Apple iCloud has a slick app and web interface. I like the fact that it is compatible with Windows, MacOS and iPhone devices, although it is not available on the Android platform. We use it for seamless file syncs across devices. We have bought the $9.99 per month plan for 2TB storage, which is enough for our current needs.
  • File sync across devices is great and seamless.
  • It works great for Apple's three platforms: iOS, Mac OS and Watch OS.
  • Provides free 5GB cloud storage when you buy an Apple phone or computer.
  • Ability to access your cloud files through a web interface. However, it lacks the ability to search through the web interface.
  • It nags for upgrading the storage if you have free limited 5 GB storage.
  • It is not available on the Android platform, which is a bummer if you want to access your files on an Android device.
  • It is not truly cross-platform and is more suitable for the Apple ecosystem.
  • Collaborative editing on iCloud is not good.
  • Sharing files on iCloud with friends and co-workers is only possible through email attachments. This is a limitation as compared to some other popular vendors who provide sharing through links and having an expiration time on the shared permissions.
If someone is dedicated to the Apple ecosystem and doesn't need too much collaborative editing, I would recommend Apple iCloud. But for the other needs like cross-platform, collaborative editing, I would recommend other cloud products like Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

  • Improved Productivity: We see improved productivity by letting iCloud handle file syncs seamlessly.
  • Easy Administration: Cloud storage reports are very useful to clean up old files from the cloud and reclaim space.
  • We find it very useful to share files within the organization for meetings and stand-ups. This saves time uploading it to a location and granting permissions to individuals.
  • It is also reliable and secure. We don't have to worry much on the security front of our iCloud storage.
Google Drive is great and offers competitive pricing plans but we have an Apple ecosystem and Apple iCloud was the preferred choice for it.
Selenium, Unified Functional Testing (formerly HP UFT), Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft Project
We are very pleased with the iCloud performance within our Apple ecosystem. It is sometimes a little slow depending on your internet bandwidth but, overall, it has been doing a great job.
I would give it 8/10 for its overall usability. It's working great for our Apple ecosystem, but we do wish we had more collaborative editing capabilities like those provided by Google Drive and Microsoft One Drive.

Apple iCloud has a very good reputation among our peers using cloud for business needs. Also, given that we are using it only within our Apple ecosystem, the features and usability are apt for our needs.
We are pleased with the product. However, some of our functional users had trouble understanding how iCloud works. I would like to setup some meetings with Apple Sales/Support and my team so there questions can be answered in the initial stage itself.
No
We haven't foresee any business need where we might need more than a regular support. It is fairly a simple product to use and you don't need a premium support to use this product.
Apple support is quick to respond and know their product well. They will follow up with you to make sure your issue has been resolved and case can be closed.

  • Sharing large files through email attachment. This doesn't really gets attached to email but some sort of cloud location and permission is sent.
  • Stores regular backups which you can use to restore your Apple device. You can turn off this feature if not required.
  • Collaborative editing with Apple icloud is not great. This product was never designed for collaborative editing to start with.
Yes
Apple iCloud has a web interface, desktop interface and a mobile interface. The mobile interface works only on Apple iphone device. It's a pretty slick app and lets you organize your cloud files with the reach of your mobile device.

I use iCloud for personal devices as well as support our employees that use iCloud. It is not used by any particular department, but I support it on an individual basis for employees using Apple devices.
  • Excellent for notes keeping and accessing.
  • Great for backing up items and also syncing items that have been added.
  • Sharing Keynotes.
  • Good for tracking devices.
  • When a user is new to iCloud it is a bit difficult for them to get the hang of how it works. Could be less confusing.
  • The web access needs to be more robust.
  • Better support for other environments. Needs to "play better" with Windows.
  • Storage is pricey.
If you have an Apple device it is recommended. Backup and restoring of devices is its biggest asset. If you want to use it with other vendors' products (Microsoft, etc.) there are shortcomings. I know Microsoft and Google are competitors, but they need to learn to play well with others since many companies are based around Microsoft, Google, and Linux environments.

  • Good for keeping device data synced in case of a crash.
  • Good for when swapping out devices and you need to backup old devices and restore everything over to the new device. Though for a new user it can be a bit of a learning curve.
This really just depends on the device you are using. If you use a lot of Apple devices then this of course is the way to go. But, if you use multi-platform devices, issues do occur. As always, Apple needs to learn to "play better with others", because in corporate environments it is very unlikely that they are an Apple only shop.

  • Backups of Devices
  • Locate Devices
  • Sync Data on Devices
  • Restore Data to a new devices from and old device.
  • None in particular, other than its intended use.
  • We use it for its intended purpose and only on devices by Apple that can utilize it best. So, this totally depends on how Apple develops the product in the future. Especially, if they decide to make it more friendly to other environments and devices other than their own.
It is a very necessary product if you are using Apple devices. If you are then you should utilize it.

We use it with Apple's devices. Our biggest use is for users to sync data and also to backup devices and restore them if they upgrade to a new device or have a device failure.
Would not change anything. For Apple devices this is what should be used for your device backups.

I personally use iCloud because I am the benefits administrator and a number of my vendors have apps that can be accessed via a smart phone. I also check my work email and have documents on my phone. A number of office positions in our company are in the same situation. I feel like it provides an extra layer of security.
  • iCloud is an excellent service that provides automatic backups of iOS devices and also syncing for photos, music, calendar, contacts, and documents.
  • iCloud syncs images across your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Windows PC.
  • iCloud works with Macs, Windows PCs, and iOS devices and it automatically backups data for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
  • With iCloud there is no web interface for photos or music.
  • iCloud features for different functions such as photos can be confusing to set up.
  • You can't just upload any and all files. You need other storage solutions to work in conjunction with the iCloud.
I think it is a great product for people who mainly use Apple devices and for personal use. In a work setting, it needs to work along with other storage solutions.

It came highly recommended from other users.
There wasn't really a selection process. It was just an addition.
  • So much of what this product does is seamless and doesn't require you to really do anything like backups.
  • The syncing also happens automatically.
  • There's a lot of rules, settings, and options for using Photo Stream, and it can take a while to figure out how to use it.
  • You can only sync date from specific apps.
It can be used pretty easily by people who regularly use Apple products.
