[Applied Epic] is our agency management system everyone uses.
  • Ease of use
  • Interacts well with Office 365
  • Can only run reports to search fields in the Auto & Home app
  • Contacts cannot be copied into other companies
  • Cannot make adjustments to disbursements once started
[Applied] Epic is great for holding information but it does take time to enter data correctly if you want to be able to complete reports accurately[.]
  • Drag & Drop capability from Outlook
  • Storage of all data in one place
  • With Epic online users can work from home.
  • We were able to reduce IT expenses
  • Allowed users to start working from home when Covid started
We upgraded from [Applied] Tam to [Applied] Epic as we were needing new servers. The cost was a huge factor and the fact that Applieds data is backed up by them and updates are done by them, it was a huge cost and time saver for us.

Applied Epic is the account management software that is utilized by my organization. We use it to keep track of our business clients, their insurance policies, accounting, policy submission, correspondence, claims, and contacts. It is basically a one-stop-shop for us to know what the status of each account is, what has been done, and what opportunities we have with each account.
  • Very thorough collection of information allows for accounts to be qualified properly
  • Notification of upcoming tasks keeps everyone on track with renewals of policies
  • Attachment capabilities allow for items to be filtered per policy type to allow for faster searching
  • Some of the questions in the applications are repetitive.
  • The manual is not especially user-friendly - our agency is working on a new one for easier navigation.
  • Better integration with our other software programs would be beneficial to our agency.
Applied Epic is well suited within an agency where there are many users and lines of business. For us, we have multiple locations and it is easy for two people to go after the same account. With a quick search in Epic, this can be prevented. With an agency as large as ours, it allows for proper timing of renewals and tasks so that customers do not get forgotten and policies are completed on time.
  • Positive impact on efficiency.
  • Positive impact on communication abilities.
  • Positive impact on success ratio.
Unfortunately, I have not worked with any other account management software like Applied Epic so I would not be able to comment on the usefulness of it versus another product. I do know that our organization likes the capabilities of Applied Epic so much that they do not plan to switch anytime soon.
I have not necessarily used support from Applied Epic directly, but have gone to my trainer who has gone to support. I am usually able to get an answer relatively quickly, so I can assume the support team is very knowledgeable and prompt with their help.

Ours is a growing business and it flexes to meet our changing needs as we expand our customer base and our products and services. Finally, there is one place to keep all of the data and reports related to practice, patients and billing. And of course, the cloud makes it possible for us to capture and keep valuable data no matter how much we have.
  • Excellent support
  • Extremely time-saving
  • User-friendly
  • On-boarding and training can be arduous
  • It is a pricey solution
  • Report formats can be a bit janky
Again, it is good if you are growing because it can manage different sizes of businesses and patient bases. Keeps us organized to have all of our data and reports in one place. The ability to customize is invaluable.
  • Has taken some human power time to get up to speed.
  • Yet, our bottomline has been positively impacted.
  • I've actually gotten compliments from clients and patients about how organized everything is!
I think it's much easier to use applied epic then TAM. More user-friendly and more intuitive. I feel Applied Epic is a much more productive solution.

Using Applied Epic

Applied Epic is utilized most heavily by our Property & Casualty department as well as our Accounting department. The system is also used by our Employee Benefits team to remit invoices to clients and collect fees. It is our central agency management system and has allowed us to consolidate our storage of documentation as well as streamline workflows across the organization.
  • Account Management - I like the way the system organizes the data for each account. It is easy to search and find any client we are looking for and then once within that record, it is easy to navigate to the necessary policy or screen.
  • Task Management - once everyone was trained and on the same page, the ability to move tasks within the system from one person to the next really helps with the "passing the baton" from one team member to another. The task will come right up on the initial screen so the user knows they have something new to do.
  • Reporting - the system drives the majority of the reporting we do as an agency and it is great when working within the system.
  • Employee Benefits Agency Management - we found that Epic could not be used to support our EB business and as such now have a bridge between the two systems. It would be fantastic if that was all integrated into one.
  • Contract Management - its hard to management/update account specific contacts especially for large companies that have changed and many points of contact
Agency management for larger P&C driven agencies that are looking for standardization across their business. The system really allows you to track and see when activities are being created and completed, where an account is in the marketing process (or renewal process). It also is a great data warehouse when looking to consolidate.
  • Consolidated from multiple systems to one for P&C - reduced spend on maintenance of those systems and centralized our support making life easier for IT.
  • Positive impact on the time spent actually putting information into the system. Previously TAM was used and that system was hard to navigate and use.
Applied Epic was more robust than some of the other systems we looked at. It had the ability to be configured to work with very large fortune 1000 companies all the way down to personal lines business which was advantageous for us.

Applied Epic is being used across my entire organization. This is our working solution for maintaining our client database. Additionally, we use Applied Epic for our Accounting systems and billing. This also serves as the main reporting tool used to determine financial numbers.
  • The search feature is extremely easy to use.
  • Easy to read homepage.
  • There are times when it seems like tasks take longer than they used to; more steps involved.
Applied Epic is well suited for handling our accounting and billing needs. The financial reports are very helpful as well. I especially appreciate the lookup/search tool. It is so much easier to use than our previous system!
  • Positive - ease of login/home screen.
  • Positive - ease of search tool.
  • Positive - financial reports.
