Users of ARIS have found the software to be highly effective in a variety of use cases. One key application is during design workshops for consulting assignments, where it has been extensively used by multiple telco companies to create eTom processes. The software's ability to handle large amounts of data, such as 1 billion rows, has proven valuable in this context. Additionally, users have been able to build informative dashboards with critical KPIs for the Order to process use case, including metrics such as OTD Rework rate and First-time right ratio.

ARIS is also widely used for process analysis and optimization. It plays a major role in finding the As-Is process during tool upgrades or migrations, allowing clients to understand process variants and make informed decisions on which ones are important and which can be removed. Through process mining, ARIS helps identify bottlenecks in As-Is business processes, providing in-depth analysis and gap analysis. The software also facilitates activity and process flow mapping, making it easier for users to gain insights and optimize processes.

In areas such as procurement and invoicing, ARIS has proven beneficial in improving processes, reducing cycle time, and identifying opportunities for automation. It has also been used in the P2P space to gain a better understanding of business processes and identify bottlenecks. Overall, ARIS is considered a valuable tool for process transformation journeys as it helps uncover complex ongoing processes, analyze improvement opportunities, and assess data-driven business feasibility.

Another area where ARIS shines is in SAP implementations. It serves as the official tool for the design phase, enabling organizations to map, mine, and improve processes across various business domains like production, logistics, sales, marketing, finance, human resources, and customer care. By charting As-Is processes, ARIS enhances understanding and allows for better discussions with stakeholders while facilitating fit-gap analysis. The software's cloud-based offering increases visibility and promotes collaborative idea-sharing among stakeholders.

ARIS has also been instrumental in solving specific problems, such as finding root causes for low FPYs in the F&A domain. Its cloud-based approach increases visibility and enables the sharing of innovative ideas. Moreover, ARIS contributes to increasing process transparency and reducing friction by aligning actual processes with workflows and increasing overall process efficiency.

Simple and Easy Drag-and-Drop Interface: Many users have expressed their satisfaction with the drag and drop interface of ARIS, as they find it to be simple and intuitive for building process maps.

Conformance Feature: A notable number of reviewers have specifically highlighted the conformance feature in ARIS, considering it to be one of the best features offered by the tool. This powerful feature helps ensure that processes are being followed correctly, providing valuable insights into process compliance.

Comprehensive Nature: Multiple users have emphasized that ARIS covers a wide range of process mining features, making it a comprehensive tool for analyzing and improving processes. Its extensive capabilities contribute to its effectiveness in identifying challenges and improvement opportunities in various areas such as PR to PO and invoicing processes.

Outdated User Interface: Several users have found the user interface of the Aris process mining tool to be outdated compared to other tools in the market. They have expressed a desire for enhanced features and suggested incorporating AI to provide suggestions while building process maps.

Limited Visualization Capabilities: Some users have mentioned that the visualization capabilities of the Aris tool could be improved, as they feel that other tools offer better options. They believe that enhancing these capabilities would greatly benefit their experience with the tool.

Absence of Copy-Paste Feature: A number of users have pointed out the absence of a feature that allows them to copy components and paste them in another tab, which they feel is missing in Aris. This limitation has made it less convenient for them to work on their process maps efficiently.

It is being used by the whole organization to mine the mapped processes to improve the current processes across various business domains such as production, logistics, sales, marketing, finance, human resources, and customer care. The idea is to draw and map your current processes into ARIS Process Mining, and then mine it to see the bottlenecks/inefficiencies, report them in a summarized manner and improve these processes so the organization can get more efficient and flexible. Therefore, we used it to map, mine and improve the processes in the business domains I mentioned above.
  • Process mapping.
  • Process mining.
  • Reporting is relatively slow.
  • Mining is relatively slow.
The scenarios where ARIS Process Mining is well suited are actually quite niche. I can say if you're a big, old organization with a lot of hierarchy and bureaucracy and this causes the information within the organization to disseminate and reaching the correct units take time, therefore inefficiency, then it's surely worth investing in ARIS Process Mining tool. These are the exact problems ARIS offers to solve. But if at least some of these terms I mentioned do not apply to your organization, whether it's small or does not suffer these symptoms despite being big, you can still use it for its various reporting and mining tool to improve, however the most suitable scenario is as I explained above.
  • Process mapping.
  • Process reporting.
I have not heard of any better such software that you can use to both map the processes, report them and mine them to see bottlenecks to improve. There are many software platforms that you can draw and map processes but such advanced library, mapping, reporting and mining tools to achieve the optimal process flow does not exist as far as I know.
We worked with a vendor who supported us and have been able to resolve any problems/questions we came across so we did not even need to go to ARIS Process Mining support/developer team to resolve issues.
