Articulate 360 has gained popularity as a reliable alternative to the Adobe suite, reducing users' reliance on multiple software tools. Customers have found value in its comprehensive suite, utilizing various tools like Studio, Replay, Storyline, Rise, Peek, and Preso for e-learning development. The software has been widely adopted across different sectors ranging from K-12 education school districts to large customer service organizations. It is used for a multitude of purposes such as ongoing training, onboarding and development of internal corporate employees, and creating SCORM learning modules on compliance, leadership training, product knowledge, and soft skills.

Instructional designers recommend Articulate 360 for its speed and ease of use, particularly with tools like Rise and Review. The ability to efficiently gather feedback within courses is also a standout feature that allows learners to make comments directly within the course and track them at the slide and layer level. Additionally, the software's integration capabilities make it easy to package webinars into on-demand formats and implement components onto websites. Users appreciate Articulate 360's mobile device support, collaboration through Review, and the extensive Content Library available for creating well-designed e-learning solutions. While occasional crashes have been reported by some users attributed to compatibility and memory issues with their computers, overall, Articulate 360 streamlines the e-learning development process and makes client reviews efficient.

Users have provided several recommendations for Articulate 360 based on their experiences with the program. The three most common recommendations are as follows:

  1. Try the trial version and watch tutorial videos: Many users suggest taking advantage of the trial period and watching tutorial videos to assess the capabilities of Articulate 360. This allows users to get a feel for the platform and its quality before committing to a subscription.

  2. Start with Articulate Rise for easier course development: Several reviewers recommend starting with Articulate Rise for simpler course development. They find it easier to use and appreciate its flexibility and responsiveness in creating web-based training and robust e-learning content.

  3. Join the online community and explore all the available resources: Users highly recommend joining the online community for Articulate 360. This provides access to valuable resources, trainings, and free webinars that can enhance one's understanding of the program and help maximize its potential.

Overall, users find Articulate 360 to be a powerful program worth the investment. It is considered easier to use than its competitors, especially for creating engaging presentations, high-quality e-learning content, and interactive materials. The collaboration and administrative functions are also praised for their convenience. However, some users note that it may not meet all classroom and educator needs, so it is recommended to evaluate if the full suite of Articulate 360 is necessary before subscribing. Additionally, users suggest keeping an eye out for improvements in Storyline 360 and new content or functions in Rise. While there may be a few bugs that need to be worked out, Articulate 360 is regarded as the best tool on the market for rapid e-learning development, offering an integrated solution that streamlines training development processes.

Most of the other software don't have as many templates as Articulate 360. They are not as easy to use. Also, once you get an Articulate subscription, unless another software has a low price point or offers something unique there is no reason to change. I have not been able to see an offering that compares.

Adobe Captivate has a ton of incredible functionality. You're able to fully customize user experiences through interactive elements, buttons, transitions, hiding and activating various elements, and so on. But overall Captivate is insanely difficult for someone new to the tool to learn. Most of what I learned about Captivate, I had to do by trial and error or by watching Paul Wilson's YouTube videos. I find Articulate 360 to be far more intuitive.

When a developer is trying to build training materials it happens in two scenarios. The first is a properly planned and developed training course. This course has ample time to adjust and refine the content to make sure it meets the desired goal. The second scenario is the 'I need it tomorrow!' scenario. This second scenario has become more common in a post-covid age as rapid responses are required to train around certain issues. When comparing Articulate 360 to Captivate in both of these scenarios, it is not even a contest, Articulate 360 leaves Captivate in the dust. From the ease of use of Articulate 360 to its web-based functionality, Captivate can't even compete. The continuing updates, enhancements and training are immensely useful as I seek to continue to enhance my learning offerings

With the older version of Captivate, do not like the learning curve. Articulate 360 eliminates that obstacle. I love Storyline and Storyline 2. I used Articulate Studio for several years, and it is very good for someone that knows PowerPoint, or wants to convert PowerPoint slides into e-learning with out any "fuss".

I have worked extensively in Adobe Captivate and found it to be much more of a challenge than Articulate 360. The learning curve is greater in Captivate and I found that far more steps and workarounds were required to create comparable interactions than in Articulate products. I would not recommend Captivate for the casual user.

Articulate 360 the industry standard. Captivate seems clunky and lacks many of the essential features that come with Storyline 360. There is no comparing the two pieces of software.

There is no comparison in my book. Adobe Captivate served its purpose while we were using it but it's much clunkier and more difficult to use and learn. I had way more issues with that than I have ever had with Articulate 360.

Compared to Adobe Captivate, Articulate 360 offers the best of both worlds in Rise 360 (quick and easy) and Storyline 360 (thorough and sophisticate). Captivate would only really be applicable for eLearning Specialists whereas Articulate 360 casts a much broader net, and therefore in our business was a better fit.

Our organization has mostly used prepackaged courses but needed more tailored training/topics and Articulate 360 allows for creation of short, long, overview, and detailed training sessions that can continue to be updated, as needed. It offers numerous features for creating new or to expand on existing training materials for staff development. High-quality viewing on various personal devices for "anytime, anywhere" access to development courses. And very reasonable cost and short learning curve.

I love Articulate 360 and prefer to use it over Canvas which my company currently uses. In my opinion, when comparing Canvas to Articulate 360, Canvas has a more archaic interface and is not very appealing to myself and my students. Articulate 360 on the other hand, is very intuitive and has a very clean and user-friendly interface which is something that everyone enjoys.

My choice for Articulate 360 is mainly based on the many possibilities that the product offers me. With Articulate 360 I can fully utilize my creativity. In addition, I do not have to worry about any impossibilities of the software, so that I can continue to focus on the objectives of my clients.

Articulate 360 is a much more intuitive program when compared to Adobe Captivate. Also, there are more development options in 360 over captivate.

Storyline, when compared directly with Captivate, is much easier to use and the overall experience is more cohesive.

Others in my department have used Lectora and Captivate, but we find Articulate 360's customer service, lively community, blogs, videos, and continuous updates make them stand apart from the others.

Articulate Storyline on its own merit already was a great contender with the rest of the tools on the market, now in this 'bundle of joy' you have all the tools you need to develop amazing elearning content. No need for anything else!

I was an Adobe Captivate user before I switched to Articulate. I found the learning curve for Storyline was so low you could literally create e-learning after playing with it for a few hours. I did not find that with Captivate. Storyline adapts to the developer's level of skill: it has all the built-in features you might need when yo are starting off and then lets you get more complex as you gain experience.

Articulate 360 does stack up to iSpring, however, iSpring was more willing to help during COVID-19. Adobe Presenter does help, however, it struggles with its library of graphics. As for course building, I have tried CourseArc (more like a Learning Management System), WhizCabin (wire-framing for courses), SHIFT (Wistia integration, geared toward becoming an LMS but right now, it is a template-based course builder). By far, I think SHIFT worked the best; however, the company is still ironing out some technical bugs.

We looked at all of these platforms for training, and Articulate offered the most features, the best portability, the easiest build environment, and the easiest use for our users. Captivate is a good tool, too, but it's only comparable to Storyline, and we had a number of use cases where Rise was a better tool for what we needed. Canvas, Moodle, and Schoology also had useful tools but were bound to only being usable on those platforms.

Articulate has several complementary software to create different types of courses, however, iSpring can only create adaptive but non-responsive courses. iSpring has its advantages to produce very fast courses, but Articulate has many extra functions that allow you to customize and gamify the course. It also allows you to create adaptive and responsive courses, another differentiating element is that it allows the inclusion of automatic subtitles with .str archives.
