We chose Asana because it is user friendly and easy to navigate. As a corporation we all use it for different areas of our business and share tasks in Asana for daily usage. We keep organized and on track because of Asana and what it brings to our company daily.
I have never had an issue with Asana that their team could not help us navigate through and find a resolution. I am highly pleased with their customer support and willingness to ensure all our needs are met and handled in a timely fashion. I would recommend them to anyone who needs tasks!

We absolutely love and rely on Asana for our day to day ordering and shipping needs. We don't foresee it going away from our organization or wanting to find a different product. If it is not broken, why would you fix it or change it? It works for us the way we need.

We needed something to keep our tasks and shipments on track and organized and this product does exactly what we needed and what we were expecting of Asana to do. We couldn't be happier or expect anything different than this. We won't be changing services any time soon or in the future at this time.
We would not change a thing. We are happy with Asana and what it has been able to bring to our organization and to keeping us on daily tasks. We would not want anything different because it offers what we need and were wanting in a Software for organizing for our teams.

Our team is using Asana with other teams in collaboration in a project management capacity. We are using it to:
  • Break down the multiple components of our projects into tasks, responsibilities, roles, and timelines.
  • Track multiple pieces of a project across complex team structures and time zones.
  • Plan time and logistical execution for our parts of the project moving forward.
  • Observe the overall project's progress as a whole (Kanban-like progress board).
  • Document processes that need to be completed so that others can implement them.
  • Timelines: With Asana, you can create Gantt charts that show you preceding/needed action items. When a part of a project is delayed, you can track how that will affect the forward trajectory of the project.
  • User management / Roles in relationship to tasks: Asana allows you to see individual users and assign them tasks in an overall project, while also being able to see what items are needed as a whole. It allows you to see who is doing what and when.
  • Organized File storage: There's one master view for file storage, OR you can store files in individual tasks. Overall, for visually-driven individuals - and for those who need a strong sense of organization, it's not that helpful.
  • Visual organization inside of tasks: The view inside of tasks could be improved for visually focused individuals; I find myself wanting more of a "notebook" view that better integrates different types of media and notes altogether.
Our team has evaluated several team collaboration tools. If your organization (five or more) needs a place where your team can collaborate, track tasks, track time, manage users and come together to get something done, Asana is going to be one of our top recommendations. The ability to see progress in a project, integrate Asana into the rest of your workflow and tools, document notes and processes inside of the process, duplicate boards and projects, and manage the process is pretty well planned. Note: It's more vital for you to know your processes and how your team works before picking out a software tool for it. However, we still recommend Asana highly.

Asana is NOT a good fit for you if you have a smaller team, don't have reliable processes, don't like seeing user management or task boards, or are looking for a free tool.

  • Positive: Asana has allowed our team to work together with other complex teams and deliver in integrity. That's the name of the game in our world.
  • Positive: Asana has allowed other members and teams to see our progress on projects, which has saved us time in communications, and therefore money.
Asana is better organized than Basecamp and less visually confusing. It's more user intuitive and clear about what exactly needs to get done and what elements depend on others being executed. Overall, the list and kanban views allow for a more natural, more organized viewing experience, and flexibility in different thinking styles.

Bitrix24 is an excellent tool at a lower cost and can be very powerful. Your processes determine a GREAT deal of which platform you choose to use - which is why it's so important to know them before you begin mapping these out in software. Overall, we have preferred Asana over Bitrix24.
We haven't had to tap into support. Everything has been very straightforward in its use. We have been able to show up inside of other projects (with other teams) and be ready to jump in with very little need for outside assistance or support. All of the techs have worked, and we've never had to reach out to support.

Usually, the team member assigned to marketing duties, and the project manager use Asana to help them see what they need to execute and deliver on their work. (ex: email marketer, Facebook ads person, copywriter, etc.).
2
  • Basic web navigation: The interior of the platform is pretty straightforward.
  • An understanding of Kanban (there's a board view of project management) - you'd need to understand how to move your pieces across their progress milestones.
  • Project management - You need to be able to understand the overall project and the milestones that comprise progress. You need to be able to break your overall task into smaller pieces and then list those things out so that others can understand your project and its components. You will also need to understand how much time each piece takes and what components are dependent upon one another so that you can communicate with other team members when something is delayed or when plans need to change.
  • Project management - breaking out individual components of overall projects into milestones and measuring their progress.
  • Process development & monitoring - mapping out standard operating procedures.
  • Client communication / Interior dashboard hubs - Many agencies use this as a way to communicate with their client's various components of the projects that they have been hired to do. It reduces conversation and meetings - clients can check-in at any time to see what has been done.
  • Coaching and teaching other companies on how to work with processes and adapt them to their teams.
  • Networking - Using our connection to the platform to be able to meet others in our industry.
  • Mobile + Desktop capabilities - Able to use it anywhere, anytime.
  • Task management - Easy to view projects and their progress.
  • Time management - Easy to see what elements require time / how they interrelate and manage the project on an overall basis.
  • Company management - Be able to see from a master dashboard perspective where each project is in its stages of completion.
  • Clear communication - It's visually documented who is doing what at what time so that the whole project gets done.
Yes
We're using Asana to replace Notion.so - We are a creative team, and Notion has been a great internal hub for us for file storage, notes, and collaboration. The price has been great per user, and it integrates with Slack and other tools. However, we find that Asana is easier for task management and user designation/time contingencies overall. It also can sync to create master dashboards. This is a big deal when it comes to managing your project management as a whole.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Product Reputation
  • Vendor Reputation
After mapping out our processes, we realized that we needed a more exceptional ability to track users, time, and progress through the projects. Asana's features were the winner for us - the ability to connect on mobile and desktop, to track overall progress, to see Gantt charts, to be able to use in conjunction with user roles, and master dashboards were the winning stroke for us.
We are in a creative industry - But we also need to get a lot of work done. That means that there may not be ONE tool that solves all of our problems. If I had to change the process and go through it again, I would invest in two tools at the same time - One for file storage and collaboration and another for project management and master dashboards (asana).
  • Integrations - Via Zapier, it integrates with EVERYTHING, which helps you automate your workflow and get more done. This is all about productivity, so it lives up to the need there.
  • Master dashboards / easy to link and replicate inside of the platform. You can manage one project, many at the same time (and see where they all are in their various stages of progress), and link boards together so that productivity can be viewed at many different levels and in multiple roles.
  • File storage and organization - You can store a lot in Asana, but it feels disconnected. Files are either buried in tasks or a large section. I keep wanting folders and an internal visual hub where you would organize documents and spreadsheets - perhaps a bit like dropbox or google drive.
  • Even though you can CREATE master dashboards, the ones that you may need do not come standard as templates. You have to understand how to link them together to create them yourself.
Yes, but I don't use it
  • Task views and organization: Flexible views (list vs. kanban) to allow people to manage the project. You can break your project into milestones - so that it's easier to see how projects are being accomplished and where projects are stuck in delivery.
  • Time views + Role Views: You can see which users are spending more time / which ones may need relief and manage your team's overall workload through different viewpoints.
  • Straightforward interface - Pretty easy to see and understand. Colors, grids, and toggles help you navigate your way through the program and see the sections that you need to find.

I use Asana to organize the different projects of each of my clients and the task of each of my employees. It allows me to track the progress of each project especially when it comes to completion of task and sub-task. The ability to put due dates and hierarchy of urgency of each task allows us to see which task we should focus on first. I can easily manage the projects and my team through Asana. The comments feature in each section, task and subtask allow all the tag people to view the questions and comments of the assigned team members. The calendar feature is pretty cool too since I can view all the due tasks of the day and I can easily follow-up with the assigned team members. Overall, it keeps the project fulfillment smooth and easy.
  • Asana allows you to organize your task through a list or through boards.
  • Asana has a great user interface so it's easy for you to locate the projects and the pieces of tasks under each project.
  • Asana's "My Tasks" feature allows you to see all the tasks assigned to you and you can re-arrange them according to priority level.
  • Asana allows me to attach files to each task which allows us to see the progress of the project. It allows you to comment on the current files and the owner of the task can revise it then according to your instructions.
  • It's not that easy to change or update the name of the title. You need to click the arrow down button beside the title to edit. I believe it should be easier like just click on the current title and change it.
  • I would like Asana to put a feature like Facebook and LinkedIn where you know who's online and who's not online. Because if the person-in-charge is online you can communicate with him real time rather than waiting for him to respond later on.
  • I would be glad too if they add a voice call or video call feature so that if you have concerns and the person you would like to talk to is online you can speak with him right away. Some comments or revisions just needs to be explained through a call to eliminate misunderstandings.
Asana is very suitable for creating milestones for app development, web development, marketing projects, lead generation projects, project fulfillment and tracking the progress all the goals and targets of the team. It less appropriate for tracking sales, storing customer details, software development (JIRA is more appropriate for this). I will highly recommend Asana to start-ups as well as corporate teams to organize their workflows very well.

  • Asana allowed us to finish our projects on time which allowed us to please the client and get more projects from them.
  • Asana helped my team to be more efficient in fulfilling their tasks since they know to finish the most important task first down to the least important task.
  • Overall, it helps us to be more efficient and effective in doing our work and it helped us to get the loyalty of our existing clients. Our revenue increased and employee satisfaction increased too.
Trello is really just more on boards and the con with that is if you list lots of task under one headboard some tasks are buried from the view since the boards are a bit big. I like the list feature of Asana, especially for project management. Trello on the other is a great platform for creative projects like graphics, book covers, and others since if you attached the file to board you can easily view the image. Asana though on my part allows me more freedom and more creativity since it has more features like calendar and priority level. Basecamp is more of casual way of arranging task. I don't like it that much.

We have the CEO, WordPress developer, content writer, web designer, marketing specialist, web researcher, recruitment specialist, accounting expert, UX & UI designer. Now all our projects are in Asana and it allows us to be notified every time a new task is assigned to us and we know when the due is. It also allows us to ask questions in the comments box on each task if we have some clarifications.
2
Our CEO is the guro to Asana and he knows the hoops and loops of Asana. I myself too can help other with any issues in Asana. The CEO though decides on the type plan of we are going to pay for. The CEO and I can help organize the projects and list all the tasks and due dates.
  • We use it for project fulfillment of web development projects.
  • We also use it for tracking our research projects.
  • We use it to efficiently and effectively collaborate with each team member.
  • We were able to use Asana to pinpoint the less important tasks from the most important tasks.
  • Our style is once you're done with the task, you assign it to your immediate head for review. We put a comment we are the done with the task and we provide the file link in the comment box. This way all our task are getting reviewed before they are marked as completed.
  • We found that the "Team Conversations" feature is a great way to collaborate on some ideas or concerns. It's our brainstorming area.
  • We can use Asana track our specific business goals and see how we are progressing so far.
  • We would like to use Asana as well to track our admin tasks and creating project templates.
  • We can use Asana to eventually track services that we need to upsell to our existing satisfied clients.
Asana is adding more useful features and it makes the work of their entire team more organized and more efficient. It really helps us in achieving greater achievements as a team. It helps us to earn more revenue since we have more satisfied clients, simply because we are able to finish their project on time or even before the due date.

It was used by our entire organization since we constantly collaborated with all the departments including marketing, web development, creative direction, executives, and customer service. The business problem it addresses is making sure each department is aligned with one another and to make us all efficient with our projects.
  • Assigning deadlines to staff that you're working with directly to make sure they meet them in order to achieve success.
  • Making sure we know which team member has completed a project so we do not take on that project or have to wonder if it has been completed or not.
  • Keeping all projects organized so we meet deadlines and move quickly on to other tasks.
  • This is not an improvement for Asana, but I wish there was a way to make team members held accountable when they do not actively participate on Asana and we do not know if they've accomplished their tasks or not if they have not logged in.
Specific scenarios where they are well suited is when you're collaborating with more than three team members or collaborating with other departments on a product rollout. In order to achieve success, you must know which team member is responsible for which task and make sure they actively login to Asana to provide an update on where they are in their tasks or if they have completed. This ensures that everyone has completed their task so the product rollout will be successful. Scenarios where it is less appropriate is if the project has less than 5 steps to complete and it is an ongoing process that you complete on an ongoing basis.
  • Increased employee efficiency
  • Successful product rollouts
  • Negative impact: when not utilized correctly, employees can be overwhelmed and not actively participate on Asana.
Asana is a much more seamless process, much more intuitive, and better UI. My complaint with Basecamp is that it does not seem well organized - the interface is not as intuitive and in the past, it has overwhelmed my former teammates. To the point where they do not actively login to Basecamp at all.
I had a positive experience with it. It was easy to learn and my team really enjoyed collaborating it and assigning projects through this tool. If I could get all staff involved and provide incentives for all of us to use the tool, we would be probably 2x more efficient with our productivity. Everyone has their own tools to manage projects but we should stick to just one tool like Asana.
