One major positive impact has been employees ability to request and review their own leave. This has made our company seem more professional (by offering this service) while lessening the load on HR to maintain that information.
Having all of our data stored off site, albeit with possible security issues not that we have faced any yet, has positive effect in that wit lessens our burden of keeping local data backed up.
While we are not using the built in hooks into our benefits provider, as of yet, once we do bring that on board it will surely have a another positive ROI in lessening our HR staff burden even more. In fact, unfortunately to some, it could help any company offer similar services prior to using Ascentis with less HR staff.
There is a great deal left on the table in our organization because of the lack of good, easy to access, self training documentation. Being able to use everything in the toolbox requires a great deal of training which requires a significant training budget.
It requires an organization fully committed to getting full RoI. That means either having, or developing, an organizational culture where the employees see the Ascentis tools as beneficial to them as individuals.
Ascentis has the potential to be a good tool. However, it requires front line buy-in before roll out. An employee who already has a full plate of job responsibilities needs 1) time built into their schedule so they can fully interact with Ascentis and b) to see positive reinforcements for investing in their time pool to use all of the Ascentis tools.
From a monetary standpoint, there was some costs savings by consolidating multiple vendors into one. It wasn't extremely material. But I believe the biggest benefit has been the streamlined processes and better setup than any previous payroll/HR system we've used. Knowing that the data coming out of the system is complete and accurate is a great feeling when trying to look at trends and make business decisions.
I'm not sure what the ROI is specifically, but overall I'm happy with the changes we've made. There's still more to learn and master. It's making it easier to access information without having to look for the hard copies. I think eventually it will save time, but since a lot of it is still new to us, I don't know how much time it has saved.
Very positive. We love it. My boss and I are always saying, mostly at the same time “it’s awesome!" Then we laugh, because we’re so happy that a product is fitting us well because our company/union is so different from any other company/union!
