What is Ascentis (discontinued)?

Ascentis was an a-la carte full suite workforce management (WFM) technology platform and human capital solutions. Ascentis WFM provided time and attendance solutions that provided clients with scheduling, compliance, complex calculations, and time collection options. The HCM suite, included a fully a-la carte solution.

Ascentis was acquired by UKG in March of 2022. The service will be discontinued.

  • Not sure yet. We have struggled with Ascentis the last two years. It has taken much longer to get it up and running than we thought it would've. We are much further behind in getting our modules up and running than we thought we would be.

  • One major positive impact has been employees ability to request and review their own leave. This has made our company seem more professional (by offering this service) while lessening the load on HR to maintain that information.
  • Having all of our data stored off site, albeit with possible security issues not that we have faced any yet, has positive effect in that wit lessens our burden of keeping local data backed up.
  • While we are not using the built in hooks into our benefits provider, as of yet, once we do bring that on board it will surely have a another positive ROI in lessening our HR staff burden even more. In fact, unfortunately to some, it could help any company offer similar services prior to using Ascentis with less HR staff.

  • It projects a level of professionalism to staff and third parties. Many of our 'sister-agencies' do not have HR software at all.
  • As stated - we were excited about the idea of scheduling through NovaTime but it became a costly venture to customize - and there were a lot of grey promises on both sides.

  • We are able to have all locations doing the same process even from other states.
  • We spend less time making sure everyone knows when a change has happened for the alerts do this for us.
  • Spend less time trying to look in a file to find any number of items of information on an employee when trying to make decisions, for the information is at your fingertips.
  • Open Enrollment alone was the easiest it has ever been due to ease of enrolling, and ease of tracking who needs to complete the enrollment by the deadline.

  • Being able to print off-cycle checks instantly and complete all reporting and tracking within the system is much better than manual calculations that cost more and risk more error.
  • Overall, the cost of using Ascentis vs. doing everything ourselves manually saves us money.

  • It has been great to have all of our employee information in one central location, easy access and that the modules communicate/link together. If I change something here, it gets "pushed" to all other modules.
  • I do not maximize ESS, particularly posting information on the home page because it is so TEDIOUS.
  • LOVE the app, would love for it to be easier for employees to reset their password to whatever they want vs. the system generated password.

  • Ascentis gives us the ability to manage our payroll and HR processes on our own without having to contact them for every little thing. Resources, training and the ease of use make this possible. Previously, we would have to submit every change in deduction, direct deposit, etc to our payroll vendor for them to enter into the system. The amount of time and errors that came of that was astonishing.

  • HR DPT. is much more effective, as we can assess any employee information no matter where we are, etc. This helps to provide information immediately when requested!
  • Employees have access to Ascentis, and therefore to their timecard, open enrollment, etc., from anywhere at any time!
  • Time, PTO requests, employee goals, and evaluations can be approved from anywhere at any time!
  • Recruiting can be accessed any where at any time, and this helps with hiring, internal communication, etc.
