Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

My company used Stride as an organization-wide communication tool. Besides email, it was the easiest way to get in contact with those in other departments without trekking across the company. It was also helpful for those people who do not necessarily feel comfortable reaching out to colleagues they don't know very well face-to-face as they could talk to them without that social anxiety.
  • Directory: an easy way to see who you can contact within the service
  • Simple: not overrun with extra, unnecessary features.
  • Affordable.
  • Private group chats. Rooms can be seen by others in the organization. Some matters do not need to be public.
  • User Experience/Interface. Not intuitive to use.
  • Simple. Missing a lot of features such as emoji, gifs, and connection to other applications that make other programs more fun and useful to use.
Stride works well for those looking for just a communication tool. However, there are a lot of similar programs out there that offer more interesting features without being overwhelming. The simplicity works for and against Stride. Smaller groups would find Stride useful, especially if they are not concerned with the public rooms.

  • Increase in communication across company.
  • Doesn't have integrations like other applications so it is less efficient.
  • No extra features to act as distractions.
Stride falls short in almost every regard. While Stride is affordable, Slack and Ryver offer vital integrations that increase efficiency and are more enjoyable for employees to use. The features of Slack and Ryver that add personalization of chat (private vs. public) also add a layer of efficiency and flexibility that are hard to pass up for the simplicity and affordability of Stride.

Stride is currently our company's online messaging solution. Since our company is located in multiple states, this allows us to stay in touch and quickly send messages and communicate with our team members. Stride helps us collaborate easier with our team members who aren't physically in our location. Not only it is a tool for communication, it is also great for sharing documents and assets.
  • Stride is great as a chat tool with your team members online.
  • Stride allows us to share documents and files with one another.
  • Sending messages via the giphy integration is slow.
Stride is great tool to communicate with team members online especially if your company is located in multiple areas. You are able to see within the Stride application who is available to chat with. If a team member is unavailable, you are still able to leave a message and Stride will send an email to the user notifying them of a message has been sent.

  • Stride helps with keeping your email inbox cleaner and more organized. More conversational messages can be done through Stride leaving our emails less cluttered and finding emails easier.
  • Stride assists with keeping a record of all your past conversations with all team members. Referring to previous communications help us keep track of current statuses of projects.
  • Stride helps us keep track of documents we've shared in the past with the team and retrieve them if we need to refer back to them later.
Slack is a comparable solution. They both are a great solution for chat system. Unfortunately, Stride will be discontinued early next year in February of 2019. This would no longer be a solution if you are looking for a long term chat system. We are currently looking for a new chat tool for the years to come.

We use Stride as our main chat communication platform across our company. We moved to Stride from Atlasian's previous chat software, HipChat, and were pleased with the upgrades brought to the platform. Stride is easy to use, and works across most platforms. It has many integrations with other software and services.
Unfortunately, Stride is going away as of Feb 15th and all users are being sent over to Slack. Slack, a former competitor, is a solid platform with tons of integrations.
  • Great group messaging with rooms
  • Integrations for other software is very helpful.
  • Finding people in the organisation is very easy with the directory feature
  • Built in Meetings function is so helpful
  • Dark theme would be nice
  • Better integrations to 1 on 1 chats, some software only works in group/room chat
  • Platform is going away in a few months, so letting it run longer would be nice.
For those who have Stride, I would recommend they continue to use it, but it doesn't look like new users can sign up at this point. This is disappointing, because Stride is a solid business communication platform. I would certainly have placed a higher recommendation on Stride, if the platform was not going away on February 15, 2019.

  • Being able to communicate quickly with different members of our organization without the overwhelming use of emails helps keep us organized.
  • We have eliminated the need to have phones and extensions for each person in the organization, instead you can just send them a message over Stride.
  • Rooms to allow users to communicate on a particular topic all at once, and be able to look back at the history of the conversation helps us use our time wisely.
  • Sometimes, Stride and other communication methods can result in distractions or interruptions during what would have been productive time.
Stride was a more modern version of HipChat with more integrations, better mobile applications, and a more modern feel. Slack is the industry standard and has more integrations and a better community based on it's size. It is often that you can use the same Slack app to communicate with different organizations or teams alongside your company Slack.
Comparing the two, Slack is much more expensive for larger teams, and is the main reason our team selected originally HipChat, and later Stride. It is also the reason we are considering other alternatives upon the termination of Stride's service next year.
