What is Audiense?

Audiense is an Audience Intelligence platform. It aims to help marketers and consumer researchers be innovative and develop relevant audience-centric strategies through the use of proprietary social consumer segmentation whilst providing insights on who they are and how to engage with them in the most meaningful way.

They offer users the choice of 2 products developed for very different needs Audiense Insights: Audience intelligence and segmentation and Audiense Connect (aka SocialBro): A Twitter marketing tool


Audiense Insights allows users to identify and understand any audience, no matter how specific or unique it is. Users can create highly personalised audience segments by combining a variety of filters when creating a report, such as user profiles, affinities, demographics and job roles. With Audiense Insights in hand, the vendor states users can make better marketing decisions, adapt targeting, improve relevancy and drive high-performance campaigns at scale.

Audiense Connect a Twitter Marketing Tool uses the rich audience insights to build and explore communities, identify audiences and engage directly on Twitter at scale via:

Differentiators

Audiense Insights segments audiences by the interconnections that exist among the people (“Who knows who”). Thanks to how those connections are created between consumers (“How they know each other”), Audiense can infer their shared interests and affinities.

Its social consumer segmentation provides a great data foundation to Persona development, understanding the audiences that matter to a business, or finding new audience pocket opportunities.

Combined with the affinity graph analysis, it gives users the ability to tap into the ever-evolving culture & trends; and helps bring personalisation and build more relevance in:

The Challenge

Culture is always on the move, making it increasingly difficult for consumer segmentation to keep up. However, Audiense's social consumer segments are derived from the consumers behaviour “in the wild '', to make it more likely to reflect real affinities, and become a source of new input into the segmentation strategy.

We used Audiense when we had big social media accounts on Twitter and we wanted to analyze how their audience was composed. The kind of followers, their main insights, and the brands they were more interested in. It was a good start to separate the audience into very specific or clear groups, so you could start creating hypotheses about how you could segment the audience for future strategies.

I use it to monitor social engagement for the company's pages and profiles and to monitor our audiences, their interests, and the topics they are more likely to want to discuss. I also use it to discover new users. This function and the relative filters are particularly useful and allow me to accomplish this task quickly and effectively. Another thing I appreciate is the possibility of monitoring Twitter unfollows and inactive users, so I can keep our community fresh and engaged.

Audiense has enabled us to clean out both poor followers, and pointless follows and keep our Twitter audience current. The tools are easy to use and effective. I use Audiense as part of my social media listening and analysis service. I create communities in Audiense via my social listening provider and then cluster these audiences by affinity. This data is invaluable when I am writing social or audience strategies for my clients. For me, the integration with Pulsar Platform makes a huge difference to my offering. Being able to understand the real audience who has talked about your search in this level of detail, as opposed to the traditional 'personas' really elevates the strategies I am able to create.

Audiense is part of our tool stack for Social Intelligence, and it is used across all the markets and teams to support our clients' needs and business questions. We use Audiense to have a deeper and better understanding of the customers: 1. Understanding the segments/clusters of a specific Twitter user, a group of Twitter users discussing the same topic, or a group of Twitter users with the same demographic characteristics (to give some examples). 2. Answer the questions of who they are, what are their interest, who they follow, where to find them, when/where they are online and how is their personality. 3. Inform the definition of our clients' Personas and recommendations for targeting campaigns. Most of the data come from Twitter, so it's a Twitter-focus tool. From time to time this is a challenge, as in some markets or demographics Twitter isn't a top social media platform.

This part of the solution allows me to use myriad dials and filters to narrow to an incredibly specific audience. Discover insights about audiences I build in Audiense Connect within Audiense Insights. This part of the solution gives my unparalleled insights into demographics, psychographics, socioeconomics, influencers, media affinity, online contexts, content affinity, and much, much more. The Insights panels within Audiense.com are hands down the BEST view into a focus group on the fly anywhere online. Nothing equals this dashboard. (Note: you can also base an Insights dashboard on keywords in conversations as well...and then link it to a SEMRush account... bringing incredible precision to online marketing. For lead generation, Audiense.com is like hitting the jackpot. The salesperson gains insight into an ideal focus group of prospects AND THEN sees the influencers of these prospects.
