I am a Digital Marketer, and I use AWeber for my affiliate marketing. The product addresses several business problems for me, including the need to build and maintain a list of subscribers, create and send targeted email campaigns, and track the performance of those campaigns. With AWeber, I can create opt-in forms and landing pages to capture email addresses from website visitors.

AWeber also provides reporting and analytics tools to help affiliate marketers track the performance of their email campaigns and make data-driven decisions about future campaigns. The scope of use cases for AWeber in affiliate marketing is quite broad, ranging from individual affiliates promoting products to large affiliate networks managing multiple campaigns across various niches. Some common use cases include Building an email list, Promoting products, Nurturing leads, Reporting and analytics. Overall, AWeber provides a robust set of tools for me to build and maintain their email lists, create targeted campaigns, and track their performance.
  • AWeber's automation features are robust and flexible. I can set up automation workflows based on a variety of triggers, such as when someone subscribes to a list or clicks a link.
  • AWeber's landing page builder makes it easy to create professional-looking landing pages without any coding experience. I can choose from a variety of templates, customize them with my own branding, and publish them.
  • AWeber provides detailed reporting and analytics on every aspect of an affiliate's email campaigns, including open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, revenue generated, and more.
  • AWeber's landing page builder lacks advanced customization options, making it challenging to create unique and eye-catching landing pages.
  • AWeber's email template library is limited compared to its competitors. While the platform offers a wide range of templates.
  • Email is not properly optimized, I mean sometimes email mobile interface is not optimized.
AWeber is an excellent email marketing solution for small to mid-sized businesses, especially those that are just starting with email marketing campaigns. AWeber is also good for bloggers. But it's not perfect for an affiliate marketer who wants to make a landing page on AWeber. Businesses that require advanced segmentation options may need to consider other email marketing platforms.
  • I waste my time on beginning to understand AWeber.
  • I depend on AWeber for affiliate marketing then I use WordPress or ClickFunnels.
  • I can easily capture leads with form integration.

I am an independent marketing consulting agency offering website development and email marketing services for clients. I have used AWeber for my own email newsletters and set up client newsletters on aweber as well.

Business problems addressed: Growing a customer database / email list and communicating with prospects and customers efficiently.
  • Gets email past spam filters and into recipients' email inboxes
  • Customer support is great - love the telephone support when I have a question or am stuck.
  • Makes it easy to identify who has opened emails, who has not, and send emails to list segments based on opens / non-opens
  • Allows you to segment lists by other criteria, such as birthday. We have used Aweber to send out birthday offers to people on the list who have birthdays that month.
  • I like the wide selection of ready made opt in form designs that can be customized and embedded on client websites
  • I like the hosted opt-in form option where you can send people a link to an opt in form without having to host it on your own website .. great for people who need to build a list but don't have a website yet.
  • Double opt-in requirements. While I understand the rationale for double opt-in, I wish Aweber did not require double opt-in when importing email addresses from the client's existing client database as I feel we end up losing a good number of people who are existing customers and have given the business permission to email them but who either don't notice or don't take the extra step to confirm their subscription to the Aweber list.
  • The user interface when designing and setting up html newsletters is not as clearcut and obvious as Constant Contact; it takes more time to get the newsletters to "look right" using Aweber's existing templates.
  • I wish Aweber made it easier to embed a video message simply by inserting the video link or embed code into the email body. The process it seems to require (the last time I tried) was to create a screenshot of the video or insert the video thumbnail image and then link to the video in the right column link section .. it's a 2 step process and would be nice if it were a one click process. Not a deal breaker but I just feel like it could be faster and more efficient to embed video messages in an email.
  • Made it easy and fast to grow a database of customer emails
  • Made it simple and easy to communicate with customers via email broadcasts
  • Made it easy to identify the most engaged customers by analyzing email open statistics and follow up with those customers to make more offers and increase sales

The most important factor for me was AWeber's reputation for getting past spam filters and into recipients' inboxes.

No
I don't have a need for premium support; I get adequate / sufficient report at my existing monthly subscription rate of $29 per month.
I have always received prompt phone or live chat support that has resolved my issues on the first call in a competent, knowledgeable and friendly manner. By contrast MailChimp offers no live chat or phone support; they only offer email support and the response time for MailChimp is slow by comparison to AWeber.
No
I always get exceptional support; can't think of one specific instance that stands out.
  • Setting up opt-in forms
  • Embedding opt-in forms
  • Integrating opt in forms into Facebook
  • Customizing email design -- Constant Contact has been more intuitively easy for me
  • Importing existing customer email lists and getting Aweber approval without double opt-in requirement
Yes, but I don't use it
See previous answers ... the design / customization interface could be more intuitive and elegant .. for example, for me it has been difficult to easily figure out how to place pictures / images to the right, left or center of text.

With a former employer, I used this product to send out a weekly newsletter to all our clients and others that signed up to receive it. Since our internal email system was gmail, it addressed the issue of emails being considered spam.
  • Statistics function was very helpful
  • Keeping track of how many people opened the email
  • Keeping track of how many people actually clicked the link we provided in the email
  • Keeping track of how many times an email was actually opened and re-opened by one person
  • It wasn't always easy to find one specific person in the contact list without exact spelling
  • Email post spacing didn't always come out the way we wanted, but self-testing helped resolve this issue
Aweber was great for email blasts and since users clicked a link to be included our newsletters didn't end up in the Spam folder.
  • Aweber helped us reach out to our clients weekly, keeping us forefront in their minds
  • Aweber enabled our clients to give us feedback or share their thoughts and questions on the topic of the week
Our AWeber account was in place when I joined the company.
While I was with the company, we renewed our use of AWeber. Over all it was easy to use and everyone in the office knew how to use it.
2
The owner of the company started using AWeber for email blasts of our Newsletter. When I came on board, it was my job to get the Newsletter out weekly after the owner wrote it. If I was gone, the owner would do it. We experimented together using the self-test so weekly our newsletter came out looking great.

The owner was our go-to person for AWeber support. The owner had learned the process and could tell me in an instant anything I needed to know and if he didn't know, I could always call the support line.
  • Reaching a lot of people in one email blast
  • Tracking how many people viewed our email
  • Tracking how many people re-opened our email
  • We used the emails to get client feedback on the topic
  • We used the emails to get clients and would-be clients to ask questions
  • We added our link in the emails to direct traffic to our website
  • Announce seminars
  • Announce specials
AWeber's customer service was excellent. Easy to reach, easy to speak with and answered my questions quickly and even walked me through the process so I would know what I was doing.
No
When I first started using the product and needed help, AWeber was a phone call away. The person that took the call was very nice and friendly. The support was direct, efficient and easy to understand. The support person made my job easier and that person was every helpful that day.
  • Entering only a few number of client email addresses at a time
  • Viewing the entire client database
  • Sending a test email to be sure our post would look the way we wanted it to look
  • Remembering how to enter more than 10 emails at one time was difficult
  • Getting the spacing just right for our newsletter
  • Making the person's name look just right when using the address line
I liked using this product weekly for our newsletters. If I needed help, I could get it. It just took a little time to remember all the quirks so I didn't have to call support every time I forgot something. I think it is a good product and I recommend it to others all the time.
