We needed a cost-effective solution that provided adequate system backups and required little time to manage. Axcient x360Recover fit our needs perfectly, and their support has always been above-par. We use Axcient x360Recover to back up our internal servers. We also deploy Axcient x360Recover within our client's networks. The direct-to-cloud service works great for clients that need data protection but not onsite virtualization. \Axcient x360Recover performs regular image-based local backups and replicate to the cloud while providing virtualization capabilities in case of server failure.
  • Backup status reports are well designed and require little management time
  • Knowledgeable and personable support staff when you need
  • Multi-tenant cloud-based backup management
  • Appliance leasing at affordable monthly cost
  • Local drive cache when you need quick data restoration without an on-site virtualization appliance
  • Client-side backup agent lacks GUI-based configuration
  • Licensing portal is a bit non-intuitive
  • Appliance repurposing could be simpler
We've found that the Axcient x360Recover appliance shines in small business networks with a single domain controller. For small businesses that are budget constrained, the device alleviates much of the concern from needing additional domain controllers. Within 5 minutes, you can virtualize the server image from the previous hour, and your client's computers continue functioning as if there were no server failures. Modifying the backup policy retention gives you the ability to store images from even years in the past. Storage usage isn't part of the recurring costs.

  • Server failure no longer stops business production
  • Clients have commented they feel worry-free having an appliance
  • Increases client retention when you get to easily "save the day"
Axcient's x360Recover appliance is functionally similar to Datto's Siris line. Axcient x360Recover devices offer significant cost savings over Siris without losing features or performance. Axcient x360Recover support is also much nicer to interact with over Datto. Monthly appliance leasing options from Axcient x360Recover are reasonable and make it simple for clients to see ROI.

We use Axcient x360 Recover to backup our on-premises servers for ourselves and for all of our Managed IT clients. In addition to having the on-premises backup appliance for immediate business continuity and recovery, we also leverage the Direct to Cloud agents for all workstations and laptops both for ourselves and all of our clients as well. We have been extremely satisfied with Axcient as a company and their support team are true "Rockstars"!
  • Setup and configuration is extremely easy.
  • The business continuity component for spinning up the desired recovery point as a virtual machine on the appliance in order to keep the business operational is rock solid.
  • Recovering the desired backup point back to the physical hardware or virtual environment and syncing the most recent changes to finalize the recovery is awesome.
  • The system documentation is concise and easy to use.
  • The support team is absolutely fantastic.
  • It hasn't been a problem for us, but the web management interface might be a little tricky for new or inexperienced technicians that are not very familiar with backup and recovery platforms in general.
If you are looking for a robust backup, recovery, and full business continuity solution for your critical devices... THIS IS IT! Everything you need from file level backup and recovery to being able to virtualize your desired recovery point and run directly from the appliance is right there at your fingertips.

  • With other solutions, the cost quickly became prohibitive and we had to carefully select which "CRITICAL" devices would be backed up in order to control costs. Now with Axcient, we have been able to save over 50% on backup costs for ourselves and our clients, which has allowed us the financial freedom to make sure that EVERY device is backed up.
We've been a Datto partner for many years. For the longest time, Datto was the "Gold Standard" for this type of Business Continuity and Data Recovery (BCDR) solutions. Since our partnership with Axcient, we have completely moved away from Datto... especially now that Datto is a Kaseya Company. As for all of the other players listed... they don't hold up at all in comparison to Axcient.

We replaced all of our Datto backup solutions with Axcient. I don't want to get into "Mud Slinging", but Cost was a factor and Kaseya was another. Anyone reading this who has had experience with Datto or Kaseya for more than a couple of years should understand more than I could ever write in the space provided.

I had the pleasure to install the Axcient device for a client of mine to backup their Windows Hyper-V infrastructure.
  • Unbelievably easy to set up and configure. I was backing up the servers in less then 20 mins.
  • Support is fantastic, I needed them for a very minor issue and they got it resolve very fast.
  • It is just an amazing product, just wish it wasn't so expensive or I would be deploying it to more clients.
Can your company afford it? I would like to see it replace tape or disk based backups. Can you fit the server in to a physical location in your office?
  • None, no one thinks about back ups but IT people. So, a solution like this, no matter how good it is, is always viewed as an expense.
No contest, it is the best backup on the market today. Everything I have read about or heard is true.
3
I would and have recommended this product to my current clients however it is out of there price point.
  • Implemented in-house
I had the miss fortune to go back to this device. Alot has changed since the first time I had used it. Now instead a full deployable network appliance, you have to download a preconfigured virtual machine that will only run on an ESXi server. What about Hyper-V? I have many clients that are Hyper-V only. I setup a test lab to get this thing up and running and it has been a nightmare to say the least. Will be looking at other options.

It was used by the entire organization. It addressed the problem of not having to use tapes and the ability to restore items with that level of granularity and not have to do it manually through Putty was great.
  • Can restore Outlook emails down to the actual email and not have to restore an entire DB.
  • No reason to take tapes home anymore.
  • It has an easy to follow GUI that will allow you to restore in minutes.
  • More storage growth options. We ran out of storage very quickly.
  • There were problems with the backups using too much bandwidth and killing the network. There should be a less invasive way to accomplish backups during the day.
Some key questions to ask are: What are the storage and pricing options? Is there a different cost to back up different servers?
  • Increased employee efficiency since we were able to pull items quickly and easily.
  • Good customer service since we had items readily available.
NetApp and Veem is what I have seen used in the past. Axcient has a more granular backup method and is easier to use.
I would continue using it but it is expensive for a small business and may have a hard case justifying it.
