We used Azul Platform Core for all our Java products. Azul Platform Core is used as it is cheaper than Oracle and more secure than OpenJDK.
  • Cost-effective
  • Additional JVM arguments
  • High throughput
  • Support from the Azul Team
  • High CPU and memory at times
  • Missing support for some of OpenJDK JVM options
I would go for Azul Platform Core where someone needs secure JRE and JDK at a cheaper price where they can afford some CPU memory spikes. If you are highly concerned about the high availability of systems, or CPU memory usage, then, in my opinion, Azul Platform Core should be avoided. Also, considering what I believe to be their poor support, you might want to reconsider buying this subscription.
  • It was available at a low price.
  • Security updates are frequent.
  • Some additional JVM options help increase throughput.
In my experience, it mostly worked in general during migration. Just some of the JVM options were missing and GC log handling was poor for Azul Platform Core.
In my opinion, it offered very poor support, and I believe their tech support does not have much knowledge of their own systems.

We are using it to license java for our point of sale and payment systems.
  • Updates are released quickly
  • Notifications of patches are sent ahead of time to prepare for the change
  • Delivery was quick and seemless
  • Non at this time
The ablility to contract the licenses was quick and easy. The teams that handled the onboarding and technical questions were knowledgeable and responsive.
  • When compared to direct sourcing through oracle the cost of ownership was much lower.
  • Azul Platform Core gets security patching within days of its release from Oracle.
There was some additional work for our 3rd party to utilize the updated JDK.
The support team was responsive and delivered the first version for testing within days of the request.
Much more affordable

We wanted to reduce the operational cost for Java SE with an enterprise level solution which provides security as well as different configuration available to import various packages. Azul just fit right to our requirements and we are using it from several years happily.
  • Easy To manage Configuration
  • Secure
  • Compliant to J2SE
  • Definitely helped to optimize the operational cost
  • Should work on providing light weight solutions
  • Compatibility with latest open source solutions
Frankly speaking, we are the happy customer of Azul Core since last 4-5 years. It meets most of our requirements so far an that why we are still using it.
  • Cost Saving
  • Better Enterprise support
Easy and seamless integration. In addition, we have got good professional tech support for any of the issues resolution.
Support is up to the mark, we have reached out Azul team few times in past and quiet satisfied with the response and resolution provided.
1. Cost Saving

Zulu is very fast modern jvm that very easy to manage and control. I do not know other commercial JVMs that has similar performance. Updates regularly become available that allows us to keep protected from possible security accidents. The documentation is quite often updated and contains all maintenance information. With such high quality of documentation we almost never contact customer support.
  • well written documentation
  • amazing GC performance
  • regular updates
  • qualified and fast support
  • clarification about product differences
  • more frequent QA sessions
  • public price list
low latency java apps
  • reduced hardware maintenance cost
  • reduced processing latency
  • reduced service time
Very easy to start using new versions having migrations guide.
Professional and fast support
After Oracle stopped shipping JDK builds, Zulu has become the perfect replacement.
