We heavily use Azure Logic Apps as a connection tool between several of our cloud-based resources through a no-code or low code solution. The main use case we had was to be able to send files to an email and have it trigger a logic app to send the data to a function app.
  • We use it for an email connector to a function app and as a way to move items into a storage account.
  • We use it as a way to preprocess information before it goes into function app or a SharePoint site.
  • Some of the integrations can be a bit tricky to work with and the help info isn't that straight forward.
  • Triggers can be challenging sometimes.
  • The programmability in Logic Apps needs improvements.
Azure Logic Apps is well suited for situations where you are already using several Azure workloads or Microsoft products and need to connect them together through orchestrations. It doesn't fit so well when you have systems in other platforms and want them to talk seamlessly to each other. Support is very lacking there.

  • Has allowed us to quickly build applications and bring them to production.
  • Allowed us to integrate existing workloads easily.
  • Quick and easy way for us to experiment with integrations.
Azure Logic Apps is a quite handy tool for your toolbox as it integrates very easily with other MS products. It also has a lot of features that allows it to be easily deployed and updated via JSON and can be torn down and brought back up in different accounts quickly.
As with other Microsoft Azure support, Microsoft Logic Apps is hit or miss depending on the issue you are having. If it's simple then the resolution can be very quick. If it requires an engineer to review, then it will take them quite a while to look up a solution as they dig through.
Microsoft Logic Apps is much more enterprise-ready. With our company being more invested in Microsoft, this was a no brainer for us to leverage the tool. Its ease of use and scalability makes it a good choice for an enterprise workload.

We are currently testing Azure Logic Apps for use in a number of channels in our business. We are very excited to see what we can accomplish with this new platform. We currently use Azure Logic Apps to automate a number of manual tasks ( scrape emails, read PDFs and dump the data into a database for use by other applications).
  • Simple to use and start with
  • Very intuitive interface
  • Powerful connections out of the box
  • Better explanation of all the features that you have available
  • Better documentation as it is a new platform
  • More start up projects to give users an idea of the power of the logic app
Azure Logic Apps are a very powerful platform once you get your head wrapped around what they can really do. It is best not to go into them thinking of it as the total solution. Think of them as small tasks that can be chained together by other Azure Logic Apps or other custom applications to create the whole solution to the problem.

  • Azure Logic Apps have had a great ROI as we have them automating tasks that used to be manual
  • Azure Logic Apps can sometimes take a while to build as you get "caught in the weeds"
  • Debugging can sometimes lead you down a rabbit hole and cost time
Azure Logic Apps on the surface are very intuitive. There is definitely room for improvement but it was very well laid out. The main thing with the UI is that its baked into Azure which at times can be a confusing platform to navigate. This is not the fault of Azure Logic Apps for the Azure platform.
Azure Logic Apps are backed by Azure and Microsoft. There is a wealth of information on the internet about both of these platforms. In addition to this Microsoft has a huge bush to using this platform and have offered many solutions and support options to the user. The only drawback is that it is a fairly new platform so the 3rd party information tends to be lacking.
Azure Logic Apps has its positives and negatives. We have found that solely relying on it it not a best practice. But that Azure Logic Apps shine when used in concert of the other offerings out there as a part of the whole solution. There are tasks that Azure Logic Apps shine and others where another product is best.
