Employee Advocacy by Sprout Social (formerly Bambu) is a social media marketing tool that leverages employee advocacy. Users can distribute company blog posts, press releases, news and articles, thought leadership, and customer case studies through employees' personal social networks.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Employee Advocacy by Sprout Social allows us to distribute company news and examples of our company culture to our employees to allow them to share that content on their personal social media channels. It helps us use the power of our employee networks to reach audiences we have no access to. It also helps offset the social media platforms declining organic reach for brands.
Pros
Sharing is fast and easy for the end user
Reporting is helpful to track success
Topics, teams and tagging aid with organization
Automated emails require little time to produce but remind employees to post
Cons
Glitchy, sometimes features don't work as expected
Limited social media channels, no TikTok or other newer platforms
Photo specs vary depending on where content is displayed, and in areas where it's not up to spec, photos are cropped, stretched and/or squeezed in odd ways
Return on Investment
There are examples of big company news that had more reach on engagement via Employee Advocacy compared to our brand pages.
What the tool calls Earned Media Value measures the approx. cost of social media ads to obtain that much reach and engagement, and we typically see numbers that would take a few thousand dollars in ads to match.
The benefit is primarily B2B brand awareness for us, and there isn't a clear path for customer acquisition or new appointments.
It takes a considerable amount of time and energy to build up the participants, keep them engaged and sharing, and provide a constant stream of new, fresh content.

Director of Sales in Sales at Exterro (201-500 employees employees)
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We utilize Bambu to coordinate social media efforts and share new material with our social networks on LinkedIn. It creates an easier process to share new marketing ideas and see which campaigns were effective and which ones were not. It takes a lot of effort off the sales organization to have a central location to share our material and makes the marketing team more efficient in rolling campaigns out.
Pros
Coordinating Marketing Efforts.
Ease of use in sharing to social media platforms.
Organize your outbound efforts.
Cons
Extension in chrome would be beneficial to help craft one-off emails and campaigns.

Sales Enablement Systems Specialist in Sales at Service Express (501-1000 employees employees)
Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Bambu by Sprout Social to share canned content our Marketing team creates, as well as our own stories &/or links to share out via social media (typically LinkedIn) and gain tracking/insight data for our Marketing team. Our sellers use it to position themselves as thought leaders and trusted advisors in their space across their portfolio and for social selling purposes. All of our employees gain a Bambu license, but most teams don't use it nearly as routinely as our Sales and Marketing teams.
Pros
Scheduling out content / shares for the week
Providing a quick glance leaderboard of top content shares across departments
Easy to learn and leverage user interface (UI)
Cons
Options at the top for Suggest a Story or Share Original Content could stand out differently/better (kind of "hiding in plain sight")
The options for sharing to LinkedIn or other aren't quite as easy to see/utilize as they could be (an idea for improving the UI)
Most Important Features
Sharing pre-written Marketing articles or stories
Composing our own stories or shares via Bambu by Sprout Social
Scheduling content/shares out in one easy setting
Return on Investment
Marketing is able to track who views what content and leverage that
Gives me content to share rather than me coming up with all of my content/story shares (cures writer's block!)
