Key Features

Deposits: According to the vendor, BankWare supports Instant Access and Notice Deposit Accounts with flexible interest rate options. It can handle unlimited back or forward valuation of movements or reference rates. Multiple balance break levels can be configured on a tiered or threshold basis. Interest can be paid to any other account or applied on a compound interest basis.

Lending: The vendor states that BankWare supports overdrafts/call loans on a fixed or variable rate basis. It can handle unlimited back or forward valuation of movements or reference interest rates. Multiple balance break levels can be configured on a tiered or threshold basis. Interest can be charged to any other account or applied on a compound interest basis.

Treasury: BankWare's Dealing Room component manages the bank's currency and liquidity positions, providing real-time impact on positions, diaries, blotters, and cash flows. The Settlements component enables the back-office to settle new deals or modify settlement instructions, while all limit excesses given to the dealer are re-advised to the back-office staff.

Retail Banking: BankWare's Teller Services module allows cashiers to conduct real-time transactions. Current accounts can be set up with cheque-books and/or debit cards, and standing orders can be established for regular bill payments. The Clearing Interface automatically applies cheques and direct debits against customer accounts.

Debit Cards: According to the vendor, BankWare enables the assignment of debit cards to any current account in any currency. The Card Configuration component allows the definition of card characteristics for different types, while the Card Management and Distribution component associates new or replacement cards with an account. The Card Processing component handles and approves or rejects ATM, POS, or pre-authorization transactions.

Exposure Management: According to the vendor, BankWare provides a customer-centric view of a customer's total exposure across all products, allowing real-time control of risk with exposure and limit settings at various levels. Exposure can be divided into different tenors and viewed instantly, and all transactional components integrate into the exposure management component.

Payments and Transfers: BankWare allows users or customers to initiate payments and transfers using iBank. The software supports various message formats such as SWIFT, BACS, Faster Payments, and CHAPS. Beneficiary templates are available to minimize errors and facilitate straight-through processing (STP). Additionally, the Quikpay feature allows customers to send multiple payments as a file for automatic processing.

SWIFT: BankWare's SWIFT Message Queue and Editor manage SWIFT messages, which can be flagged for STP processing or stopped for manual verification. The Message Preparation feature allows manual production of any SWIFT message for verification, while the Message Notification widget shows pending messages for authorization and release.

Accounting: BankWare offers a multi-currency General Ledger for self-balancing ledgers in infinite currencies, supporting nominal accounts and customer accounts within the module. Users can define balance sheet, profit and loss reports, and budgets. The Nostro Reconciliation component automates the reconciliation of high transaction volumes.
