It made a difference to me to have a live marketing person to assist me.

I'm the owner of a startup that consists of my husband and myself +various warehouse staff. I am the sole user of hatchbuck software.
We have integrated it into our daily business.
There have been a few times that I have created an email in drag/drop and lost it.

I've been using Hatchbuck since the middle of last year and it has literally been a game changer for me. It has enabled me to automate a lot of my recruiting, which has saved me a great deal of time and has made for a much more efficient and effective operation. I'm now able to communicate relevant content to my stakeholders on a regular basis, eliminating certain prospects from falling through the cracks. I also know clearly how many prospects I have in my sales funnel and exactly what stage they are at in the process. Night and day from my previous CRM!
  • The online forms capability has been amazing. I'm able to connect my landing page to Hatchbuck and a prospect's information is automatically transferred into a record, eliminating data input time, once they click submit.
  • I use the campaigns feature quite a bit. In fact, I'm running 12 now and will be developing a few more.
  • Notifications and Tasks. Notifications have been important to me by letting me know when prospects hit a certain threshold or level of interest. Once notified, I can follow up with. Tasks enable me to connect with certain people in meaningful ways to enable we keep their top of mind awareness.
  • It took me a few months but I also use the Deals feature. I established quite a few stages for each deal and I'm able to track how many "hot" prospects I have and where they are in the sales funnel. I didn't have this capability before I started using Hatchbuck.
  • They may be a little behind the curve when it comes to some of the advanced features, such as integrating various calendars and e-mail clients.
  • I would like to see them more integrated with social media platforms, such as keeping track of social media activity and adding more platforms that they track within a record.
  • The onboarding process was a bit bumpy and took much longer than expected.
It is very easy and intuitive to use and I think is best suited to a smaller company. Although it suits my needs quite, quite well, I'm not sure how its functionality would translate into a larger company with more complex operations. A company may want to ask about Hatchbuck's reporting function, which may not be robust enough for some.
  • I have close to 80 deals in my sales pipeline. Using my previous CRM, I didn't have a good handle on where I stood.
  • It's been a huge time saver. Rather than having to input everything into a prospect record once someone shows interest, everything is automated.
  • I am now well informed ... I now know when someone visits a page or clicks a link. Hatchbuck also provides me with metrics on the e-mails that I have sent. Each night, I get an e-mail that tells me the number of e-mails sent, opens, link clicks, bounces, unsubscribes, and spam complaints.

I probably reviewed seven or eight CRMs, most notably Salesforce and a host of others. Some didn't seem intuitive to use, some had poor customer service, and some had constraints that were a deal breaker. Salesforce, for example has a daily e-mail limit of 250 ... I send out as many as 1,000 on certain days. Some CRMs require purchasing apps and add-ons to increase their functionality. Hatchbuck is all inclusive and just about ready to use right "out of the box."
It has just about everything I want and then some. What I want but they don't have - calendar and e-mail integration, social media integration, and a mobile app, I believe are all in the works for a future release.
There has never been any downtime for Hatchbuck, which is very reassuring for me as I market and recruit strenuously for the University at Albany's executive Weekend MBA Program. Hatchbuck team members have also been available when I have reached out to them with questions or issues. With one exception, where one of my e-mails became lost in the Internet "black hole," they have gotten back to me in very timely fashion!

It is currently being used in one function of our organization - for our big trade show. It is being used to reach out to current and past exhibitors and also to target current and past exhibitors for different features we have that they would be involved in. Right now it is only being used by myself, and for Farwest purposes, however we are interested in using it for other areas such as membership and nursery guide.

It addresses the issues of tracking information and call downs and allows us to do targeted emails to specific folks. The tasks feature is the BEST!
  • LOVE the task features.
  • The customer support is excellent and l love the recent addition of email tips and info from Hatchbuck.
  • Upgraded email features have been very helpful and easy to use.
  • The tags are great to sort folks based on different areas they participate in.
  • Helping users understand and better use the campaigns. I struggle with that.
  • I would like a way to seek and merge contacts once they are already in the system.
  • I would like to be able to delete tags that I no longer use or want and am unsure how.
I think Hatchbuck is definitely well suited for established businesses, although if someone was really savvy I could see it paying off for a start up.
  • Increased tracking and efficiency
  • Lead conversion has improved

I don't have much experience with similar products at this point in time. Very little experience with Constant Contact and Mail Chimp. What I can tell though is Hatchbuck's features are far more advanced.
It is super user friendly and we are getting the value we pay for it, although if I was more educated on certain features I am sure we would find greater value and perhaps expand our services and use with Hatchbuck.

We are using Hatchbuck to manage our corporate communications to all of our marketing leads and customers. We send out 2-3 newsletters each month, and also recently started sending out invitations for webinars through Hatchbuck as well. Currently the only department using it is our Marketing team, but they are sending out information from departments across the company. It helps us manage our marketing lists by automatically unsubscribing any bounced emails, as well as tracks the recipients actions so we can better understand what they are interested in and then target more specific messages to key audiences.
  • Their customer service is above and beyond. I started using Hatchbuck when I started working here, and had no previous experience with the platform or program. The customer service team is phenomenal in replying to emails quickly, and offering to do a live web support session to go over any issues or to demonstrate additional features.
  • The Tags and Tag Rules system on Hatchbuck are extremely easy to set up, use and track. It has really helped us literally see what our contacts are most interested in.
  • Easy to read, understand and interpret data generated and presented by the software. It's very easy to see specific KPI we are interested in knowing.
  • One challenge I have is when scheduling and email to go out. With 12 different groups to send it to, I wish there was a quick and easy way to select my email template, and then select my 12 groups and just stagger when the emails are sent. Instead, I have to go through the entire process of scheduling the email to go out 12 separate times. It only takes 10-15 minutes to schedule the emails, but it would be great if it took 30 seconds.
  • Some of the features could be more intuitive. For example, I was trying to duplicate an email template and I couldn't find a way to do that. There are 3 screens - the list of templates, the edit more, and the save page. I looked all over the list page, thinking if I selected one, I should have the ability to duplicate it from there. Then I made changes, thinking the system should offer me to "Save As". I finally found a duplicate option, in the 2nd position, which just didn't seem like the "right" place for it.
  • Again - this might be something that can be done and I just haven't discovered how yet - but it would be nice to be able to export data from the email statistics to look at more in depth.
Many of the features on Hatchbuck are really very intuitive, easy to learn and great to work with. If a company is looking to have a new user own the task of managing contacts with Hatchbuck, I would say this is a great program for them. There is no experience needed to be able to learn how to utilize the system, and as I mentioned, the customer service team is fantastic in assisting with advising key features, how to use some great tools built into the program, etc.
  • Hatchbuck has certainly allowed us to provide better customer service. Now that we have begun hosting customer oriented webinars each month, by using the tags so people essentially self-identify what they are interested in, we can now send invitations out to a more targeted group, based on their tags. For these specialized emails we send out, that are going to people only interested in specific products, we see an open rate double that of our standard monthly newsletters. It's great to see the response when we focus on reaching the correct segment.
  • Another aspect we are just not beginning to explore is to use this as our main channel for communications with our Sales Reps and Distributors. Being able to easily see who is opening our communications, who is unsubscribing, will give us another factor to consider when looking at monthly sales goals - it will help us see if higher engagement leads to higher sales, etc. We see this as a great opportunity to explore.
The company was using a different program before I joined the company, and from what I gathered, it was not as easy to use, it was hard to export all contacts if/when we needed. I was not part of the decision to evaluate other vendors, or to select Hatchbuck, so unfortunately I don't have a lot to input on this matter.
Hatchbuck is a reliable company to do business with. When they make changes and improvements to the program, they notify us by email to advise of the update so we are aware of any changes. Changes made also do not drastically alter the performance, look or feel of the site itself, just allow it to run better and do more. I've never logged in and thought - what happened to what was here?? Improvements are also to make a better experience for the user, without charging us more for the additional or new features/aspects. They are not out to nickel and dime us. It's a great company to do business with and short of some drastic change in our company's objectives or Hatchbuck's, I see no reason why we would stop using them.
