I think that overall it has a great front end for the customer. On the back end, it takes a little spin-up time, but in just a couple of hours you can really have your head wrapped around everything you're going to need 99% of the time. It takes me about 5 minutes to train a new user on how to interact with customer orders.

I literally don't use anything else anymore. It's the best option out there. What else can I say? If you have read the rest of my review, and it makes sense to you, there you go. Everything just works. Have had to call support 1 time in 7 years. That says a lot.

So far, I have managed to create a workable website that actually sells products even though I have no qualifications or experience with same. I was a publishing editor previously and find this view assists me to create the site while BigCommerce provides all the basic tools to achieve my aims

because it is easy to use, once it is setup.. It isn't a one day sort of thing; you don't say on Monday "hey, I"m going to start selling my widgets with a big commerce website" and expect it to be up and running by Friday! NOPE! You have to put in some time and get it done but once it is done and running, it is seamless... The best!

BigCommerce has recently released the new visual merchandising tool called 'Store Design' a great feature that makes designing and customising your store easier and allows you can see the effects of your edits. Brands with larger SKU counts often use faceted search, making it quicker and easier than ever for users to find the products they are looking for.

As with any system you use often, you find many things you like, you dislike, or things you would do differently. In general I think BigCommerce is one of the easiest ecommerce website platforms on the market to build a good looking and functioning site. The whole process is optimized so a non-coder should be able to get the site up and running. Coding needed is very limited (if any), and for many code-heavy issues there are solutions through the Apps Marketplace or the community message boards.

I have experienced no difficulty or problem with the interface that were not easily resolved by the support documentation, BigCommerce tech support or third part design template support. Daily usage for basic tasks are no brained. Explaining usage to non-computer literate users in organization is also easy.

It's quite good right now, but the new interface they are rolling out is terribly unusable. All of the menus are hidden behind vague icons and it's nearly impossible to find anything. Hopefully they will rethink the new control panel design, scrap it and keep what they have now.
