Quick and Easy Setup: Many users have stated that the setup process for Bitrise is quick and easy, with some reviewers even mentioning that they were able to have a build ready within 10 minutes. Users find the initial onboarding process of Bitrise to be smooth and straightforward, allowing them to quickly get their builds up and running.

Visual Representation of Steps: The visual representation of steps on Bitrise, as opposed to reading a yml file, has been praised by users for making it easy to set up complicated workflows. Instead of dealing with complex code configurations, users can simply drag and drop the desired steps onto the workflow canvas, providing a more intuitive and visually appealing experience.

Library of In-House and Community-Provided Steps: Users appreciate the extensive library of in-house and community-provided steps on Bitrise. With a wide range of pre-built steps available, users can easily integrate various functionalities into their workflows without having to start from scratch. Additionally, some reviewers have mentioned contributing their own custom steps back to the community, further enriching the platform's offerings.

Confusing and Slow User Interface: Many users have found the user interface of Bitrise to be confusing and slow, making tasks difficult and causing delays in workflow. They have experienced frustration navigating through the platform and have expressed the need for a more intuitive and responsive UI.

Cumbersome Setup Process: Several reviewers have mentioned that the setup process, especially for Android projects, is cumbersome and time-consuming. This has resulted in wasted time and effort as users encounter various setup errors at different stages, requiring multiple iterations to get it right.

Challenging Documentation Navigation: Users have expressed difficulties in navigating Bitrise's documentation, which is sometimes out of date or does not reflect the latest improvements. This has made it challenging for users to find relevant information and troubleshoot issues effectively, leading to longer resolution times for problems encountered during usage.

Users commonly recommend Bitrise for its ease of use, intuitive interface, and quick setup process. They suggest that Bitrise is well-suited for small to medium-sized organizations, making it a good choice for those looking to implement a CI/CD solution. Users also express satisfaction with Bitrise's drag and drop workflow, which they find handy and efficient. Additionally, users appreciate Bitrise's support and documentation, stating that the platform offers great customer service and helpful resources. Overall, users recommend giving Bitrise a try, especially for mobile development and deployment needs.

In our organization, we have integrated Bitrise into our software development workflows to streamline our CI/CD processes. Bitrise has become an integral part of our development pipeline and is enhancing our overall efficiency. It is. Bitrise allows us to automate the building, testing, and deployment of our iOS applications, ensuring that our code is continuously integrated and delivered in a timely manner. By automating these processes, Bitrise saves us valuable time and reduces the chances of human error during manual deployments.
  • Easy Configuration of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integration Capabilities in Slack, JIRA, Bitbucket.
  • Extensive Documentation and Community Support.
  • Pricing.
Mobile App Development: Bitrise is particularly well suited for mobile app development workflows. It offers native support for iOS and Android projects (we use it for iOS only), including automatic provisioning, code signing, and app store deployment. Its comprehensive step library and integrations with mobile-specific services like TestFlight make it an excellent choice for building, testing, and distributing mobile apps. Small Projects with Simple Build Processes: If you're working on a small project with a simple build process and minimal automation requirements, the full capabilities of Bitrise may not be necessary. In such cases, Xcode Cloud could be a more suitable and cheaper option.
  • CI/CD for iOS Apps.
  • Allows us to quickly release new versions of our iOS app, an integral part of reacting quickly to issues and frequently releasing features.
Bitrise is more modern and easier to handle than CicleCI. XCode CLoud is a strong competitor, especially if you are only interested in iOS development, and the price is a major deciding factor.

Bitrise is used for Mobile App development in my organization. It is really useful and gives us the flexibility to check which build is running and in which env along with OS details(iOS/Android). Also, it tells us the way where it is failing. Gives us the filtering mechanism if the dashboard is too long. It also gives the search feature incase if we forget the names of the apps deployed.
  • CI/CD
  • Cloud infrastructure.
  • Search for Apps.
  • Unit tests.
  • Latest Artifacts can be seen on dashboards.
  • Displaying who has kicked off the build.
  • Notification to the users.
Bitrise is only suitable for Mobile app development. Bitrise supports source code repositories such as GitHub, GitLab, and Bitbucket, and also you can connect with your SSO (Single Sign-On) with your private repositories with GitHub Enterprise. It gives a subscription model where it is free for one-time users and increases it fare as the usage grows up. It supports only a set of platforms. It would be good if there were more platforms supported as the user base of a variety of platforms is wide.
  • CI/CD
  • Ease of Use.
  • Fast and Reliable.
  • Builds apps in very less time.
  • Efficient CI/CD pipeline.
  • Security
Bitrise is explicitly for Mobile apps, which gives a different way/structure to build the apps, and Bitrise is cloud and not need to host it somewhere explicitly. It is useful to automate the testing and deployment of the apps. Support is excellent and usually gets back to us in 1-2 days.

We use Bitrise.io as a standard CI / CD system for mobile application development in a corporate venture builder. Multiple teams of 4-6 developers each use the platform to automate the release process of both test and production versions to internal testers and customers on AppStore and PlayStore. Our setup interfaces with Google Firebase for beta deployments and makes use of FastLane actions to be agnostic of the CI / CD service itself.
  • Combination of GUI / text editor for build steps.
  • Ability to run your pipelines on local machines.
  • Open approach to develop build steps.
  • Documentation on the underlying systems like VMs could be more extensive to help with debugging.
While Bitrise.io offers a ton of functionality for automating build and release processes for mobile apps it does not offer the general flexibility like CircleCI. So if you are looking for a single system to handle every CI / CD task you throw at it, look somewhere else. If you need something to power your mobile-first projects Bitrise.io is for you.
  • Organize user in different teams.
  • Integration with Google Firebase.
  • Integration with FastLane.
  • iOS / Android builds on the same platform.
  • By standardizing the pipelines for mobile builds across different teams we allow the developers to focus on developing great apps and reduce the knowledge needed to maintain the CI / CD pipelines.
  • The simple and friendly interface allows for quick onboarding and easy learning even for non-developer roles.
  • Robust integration e.g. with Firebase for automated beta deployments allows quick feedback from internal testers.
Bitrise.io is highly optimized for building, testing, and deploying mobile apps. Everything is streamlined and relevant so you can get your first build in minutes. Unfortunately, this can also mean that some flexibility is lost that other CI / CD solutions offer. You can probably extend the functionality using custom steps but you are always reminded that it is mobile-first. On the other hand, it offers greater flexibility in integrating with Git hosters like GitLab where CircleCI falls short. Jenkins can offer all of the functionalities if you are willing to set them up (and maintain them) - and you are able to provide a macOS host machine for iOS builds.

We use Bitrise as our main CI/CD tool for mobile. It helps us maintain our release cycle and all the automated testing of our applications. Additionally, it helps us support a lot of internal repositories with different release cycles and pipelines. Bitrise seems to be the most convenient solution so far.
  • Ease of use
  • Responsible support
  • Convenient and fast backend
  • Scripts validation (particularly in GO)
Bitrise provides a powerful set of tools for establishing a convenient CI/CD. It's easy to set up, manage, maintain and update. A modern and understandable web interface contributes heavily to the points mentioned above. Also, Bitrise is flexible and has the support of many external tools which makes integration and migration even easier.
  • Reliability
  • Ease of use
  • Speed
  • Decreasing of the total time building and testing.
  • Increasing of overall reliability of releases.
Bitrise requires significantly lower effort needs to be put in order to start using it. It's easy to set up and maintain.
