RE-NXT is much more user friendly than Salesforce. Navigating the software took so many more mouse clicks and the pages were visually confusing. I will say that discontinuing or updating pledges/payment information on pledges was much easier, but that was the only good aspect of using Salesforce. Recording actions and constituent information updates was a bear.

I came into this job and learned Raiser's Edge. We were a relatively early adopter of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, so I have not had experience using any other products like this. In previous jobs, I used specific designed software (think insurance entry and claims) and this software is far more user-friendly than any other product that is specialized software.

We switched from Jenzabar which was a huge pain point for us. Our IT department had to write our reports but they did not have the capacity to manage everything by themselves. Jenzabar was able to store our data but retrieving it was a huge challenge even for someone with a tech background.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is definitely cleaner, more streamlined, and more modern than other Blackbaud offerings. That said, it still has a ways to go in terms of full-functionality when compared to the other, more complete CRMs. I did not have a choice in the selection of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT but would happily move to that platform exclusively if it could offer more of the functions presented by Raiser's Edge.

There just is no system as robust and capable as Raiser's Edge NXT. It's ability to track anything you'd like, give you space to create custom fields (attributes) and utilize fields in different ways than intended give it the extra advatage that we hadn't seen in other products. It's got a vast network of plug ins that help automation features as well.

It is user friendly with state of the art technology and very comprehensive tool that provides an ideal solution to integrating donors and allows us to drive donor engagement through activation. RE NXT is harder to use to than NeonOne - but NeonOne lacks a lot of functionality and is not appropriate for higher education or more sophisticated nonprofits.
RE NXT is easier to use than Luminate. Its Marketing module is not nearly as sophisticated as Luminate but that's OK for us.
Salesforce is not a good solution for nonprofits - it's just not geared toward DONOR management and fundraising.

I have used Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, Raisers, and LO as well. I do not do as much in LO as I do in the other two software's. I was unaware that they were so many programs offered. I use Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and Raisers more because it does what I need it to do when I need it to do it.

Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT does not compare to the back end of Raiser's Edge. There is no way to get specific information, run advanced queries and reports, and run merges through Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT. Despite this, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is easier for new users to understand and interact with.

Every organization I've worked at has used Raiser's Edge. I don't have any experience with other databases. I have never been a decision maker in picking Raiser's Edge. Knowing what I know now, if I did have a say I would've put off getting NXT as long as possible until more features became available. I still prefer the database view.
