In general terms support is reliable and knowledgeable, there were just a few times that support had to escalate to engineers. Sometimes waiting times are longer than expected but nothing extraordinary.

The only time we get any assistance is when Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is trying to sell us something that we don't need. Additionally, whenever we call for assistance we are passed to another agent, and another agent, only to be told "That's a good question, you'll need to talk to blah blah blah."

Blackbaud's customer service is horrible. We have to constantly reach out to peers or search Knowledgbase to get answers or help. There is no aftercare once the installation is complete. Additionally, we do not have a dedicated relationship manager. We have cycled through at least 7 of them in the 2 years we have been using RE NXT.

I feel customer service is awful and has gone downhill considerably over the years. It is rare to talk to an agent who is actually familiar with the product. In many cases, they will send you a link to a knowledgebase article or will have you recreate the problem as a client. If you can't recreate the problem, they claim that they solved the problem or that it was user error. If they can't solve it during chat, they send it to engineers. You'll hear from them every once in awhile asking if the problem is still occurring with no solutions. It's just an endless cycle.

Support has diminished greatly since 2009 when I first started using Raiser's Edge. Support staff used to be very knowledgeable, now first level support mostly sends you knowledge base articles which I can look up myself. If we can escalate, then we can usually get are issue fixed. I have greater luck sometimes with online forums.

Often there is a delay in getting in touch with support. We have had a few issues that they had difficulty resolving. The support we had during our integration and upgrade to NXT was less than sufficient.

Customer support at Blackbaud is really good. The wait time in the chat isn't too long and they always make sure that they've solved your issue. The one area that needs improvement is that the first line of support needs to know when to escalate the issue to the next level. Sometimes I explain my issue in great detail and they still start at the beginning of the support process without reading everything that i've written.

The couple of times I've [needed] to reach out for support, the [Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT] customer service team has made it really easy. I can chat with them from within the product, send an email, call them on the phone, or visit their website, where they have knowledgebase articles about everything you could possibly imagine.

The support hat Blackbaud can be iffy at times. When they are busy they must hire on a large temporary worker pool to help support and often times they are not capable of answering the right questions and delaying the process for your solution to be complete. When it is not the busy time, most things get answered in a normal rate.

If you didn't sign up for the extra hours of customer service after implementation it can sometimes be hard to identify "live" help. They do have a great online help papers area and a community board that other users can answer questions to help with. That has been really helpful in identifying help when needed.

Right now, most of the issues that we've experienced have had the response of, to paraphrase, "oh, Raiser's Edge NXT doesn't do that" or "it's designed to work that way," obviously neither of those answers are helpful. The support team is readily available and for those issues that do have solutions and are within the bounds of what Raiser's Edge NXT is currently able to do has been helpful. Still some growing pains, basically.

There are times when there are long line ups and can be incredibly slow and responsive, on very critical things. Glad there is support services, but they could be improved. There are also the larger issues with RE that are slowly being addressed, and very slowly being added to RE NXT from RE 7, but still work to do.
