Network for Good has evolved for many things but still has its feet stuck in the past not to mention that the cost outweighs the benefit. With Bloomerang, we are able to save money and get a better program.

Bloomerang - A Nonprofit Donor Management Software that Returns Your Investment Every Time
Bloomerang was more affordable and had features that lined up better with our needs as an organization.
Salesforce is infinitely customizable, but Bloomerang is pretty straightforward and works out of the box. It is simple enough that folks who are not familiar with the robust features of something like Salesforce can hit the ground running. Even as it is simple it is powerful as far as showing visuals that can help fundraising staff more clearly understand where the organization is and what donors they can next target for upcoming campaigns.

A Pretty Good Fundraising and Crowdsourcing Resource
I prefer Network for Good because of features, support, and training. Bloomerang was already the SaaS platform in place when this organization contracted with my service team.
Network for Good is a lot more expensive, as far as I can tell, even for their basic package based on fewer contacts.

Bloomerang or Bust
DonorPerfect was the clunkiest tool I have ever used and eTapestry was a great upgrade from that, though overly complicated and not nearly agile enough or user-friendly enough for our organization's more general needs. Bloomerang offered an excellent upgrade from there that I've described here. Many of the folks working for them come from NPO and fundraising backgrounds themselves, so it's not surprising that their product reflects a deep understanding of what organizations like mine are looking for.

Bloomerang: The Simple CRM
Bloomerang does not have all the bells as whistles. It is a very paired down system compared to Blackbaud. However, Bloomerang is significantly cheaper and easier to use. If you only have one employee, it would be a good solution.

Bloomerang is a pretty good tool to have
We switched from an old version of Donor perfect, anything was a major upgrade from that. But we switched to this because we knew we needed something more up to date and more flexible, but also because we found that they would do all the work of migrating our data for us, we just had to provide our database files and help ours with deciphering some of the data that was inputted.

Bloomerang Makes Us Better
Overall we felt that Bloomerang was a better product for a lower cost. It provides an easier interface, with a cleaner dashboard, and very easy to customize letters. Creating reports is super-easy.
It's been a few years since we made the decision to acquire Bloomerang, but I recall that it hit a sweet spot of maximum robustness and ease of use. Some competing products we reviewed either were not as robust in function, or required a higher software acumen than the average member of our volunteer development possessed.

We love Bloomerang!
We left DonorPerfect for Bloomerang. I had come from an organization that used Raisers Edge and there was no way I was going to stay with DP. RE is great for larger organizations with staff dedicated to the database, but we were a much smaller organization and needed to have something we could all use easily. We demoed Salsa and Neon and liked them both, but Bloomerang had better integration features and seemed to be the most user-friendly.

Why I chose Bloomerang for our CRM
Bloomerang's dashboard, conceptual design based on donor retention and user-friendliness made it more appealing. The relative cost-value was hands down better than it's competitors. The sales team was highly knowledgable and customer support was and is outstanding.

Bloomerang - a great user friendly solution!
Bloomerang is not as robust as Blackbaud's Raisers Edge, but it's also not as costly. I find Bloomerang much more user friendly to the novice, but again, it doesn't offer many of the things the full version of Raisers Edge does.
I used an old version of eTapestry that was a nightmare to navigate and train folks on. However that was a few years ago prior to Blackbaud purchasing them, so I don't know if that's changed. Same can be said for Kintera.

We were using a giant Excel spreadsheet to manage our donor and mailing lists, and constant contact as our email server. We had a third list in our accounting software, Aplos. Now, we have all our constituents in a safe place where we can manage all their information easily without worrying that someone will accidentally erase important information from our spreadsheet. We love it.

Donor 2, ETapestry, Raiser's Edge. Bloomerang is certainly the best of the four. The interface and reporting ease are the primary reasons.

Manage your donor data AND your sanity!
Bloomerang is not as low-cost as Little Green Light, but out-performed that option on the ease of implementation and the easy of the user interface. Bloomerang does not have as much power or as many features as Salesforce of Blackbaud. And Bloomerang does not have as many integrations with website, peer-to-peer fundraising, or communications as Classy.org or Network for Good. However, we opted for Bloomerang because it had the level of performance we needed, the right price point, and the level of user-friendliness needed to be easily implemented in our organization.

It is hard to compare the two because RE is very large and very expensive but bloomerang gives the consumer what they need for a quality price.

Bloomerang is a boon for our nimble nonprofit
I have used two Blackbaud products in the past and found them to be clunky and time-consuming databases. They may be fine for a large nonprofit that can devote resources to entire development departments, but we are a small and nimble organization that favors smooth simplicity.

Bloomerang for small nonprofits yes!
Bloomerang offers a cost effective donor database solution for small nonprofits. If offers all the basic tools to track donations, segment databases, and become a one stop for development operational pieces. The fact that it is cloud based and can be accessed from anywhere was a big plus. Some of the lower priced packages were locally hosted and that was a minus for selection. Price and functionality were the main reasons for choosing Bloomerang.

Bloomerang is the CRM love of my life
I love being able to see when I log in what my donor retention is and what percentage I have achieved in my fundraising goal. It is extremely beneficial to know how engaged each donor and volunteer is with my organization and to have all interactions and notes with those individuals in one place. The reports have always been superior but last year Bloomerang made them even better with a complete redesign. I feel as though I can pull any kind of report, and then save it to use again. The reports automatically update with any changes you enter into the database. The ability to mass upload data and to have donations and registrations made via our website automatically input into Bloomerang has saved us hours of administrative work.
