Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

RedPrarie seems to have been better than Aloha. I will say that I used Aloha a very long time ago and it is probably light years ahead now. Aloha seemed to be a little more flexible in what you could do. The major downfall was you had a system that needed to be connected to the POS network directly on site that would be used only for reporting. This would require you to have another PC for computing needs. Like I said before, this is probably something that has changed in the newer world of Aloha.

RedPrairie has been the leading tool for me. I have worked with many others which I do not want to name, but RedPrairie is worth the money in the long run.

RedPrairie is more expensive than Infor's solution that we used. However, it met our customer requirements much better than the Infor solution. Manhattan was similarly priced, but seemed to be less modification-friendly.

  • WMS
Biggest impact for Finance is not having the inventory overlay for wall-to-wall inventory counts from RedPrairie to another system (ex: SAP) and having to do manual adjustments in the other system to make it then match RedPrairie after the count. Also, having to do inventory adjustments in RedPrairie one LPN at a time is very time consuming since you cannot do multiple lines at a time & they cannot be done on the LXE.

There are also NO RedPrairie ONLY inventory adjustments which is a good thing for inventory accuracy! WMS had them and it caused a nightmare keeping the books straight with SAP. Planners never knew what they had or which system was correct.

Legacy WMS is becoming obsolete so were needed to switch to "something" and RedPrairie was chosen. I was not part of the selection team, so I am not aware of what other options they looked at.

  • Manhattan Associates
RedPrairie was already in use in some of our sites and selection process was done many years ago. In terms of core WMS functionality, these vendors were very close. Our users gave RedPrairie a slight edge and a little easier to use and configure. We selected Manhattan due to superior implementation experience/process and broader supply chain software capabilities for distributed order management and trading partner management.

All are transaction based. RedPrairie engineered labor standards are generic in comparison. Greater time requirements are needed to maintain RedPrairie transactions. RedPrairie was selected at a C-level decision based on available licenses purchased originally for other business units.

Only had experience working with the Vigna and RedPrairie WMS systems. Vigna had better customer support but was not as customizable a product as RedPrairie. I did not make the selection decision for either RedPrairie or Vigna. Both these systems were in place previously.
