We are using BlueJeans in place of our standard in-person video conferences. We are using BlueJeans for administrative meetings, board meetings, and in some cases classroom instruction. All groups across our organization at one point were using BlueJeans. BlueJeans has been our organization's virtual solution especially due to COVID and the need for social distancing.
  • Content Delivery
  • Room and Participant Management
  • Windows flexibility with device integration
  • 323 Connectivity (We use Poly Infrastructure for bridging)
  • Recording ease
  • Multimedia Delivery is challenging
  • Scheduling limitations for multiple instances. (Erratic schedules)
As a singular delivery product, BlueJeans is more than adequate and suits our users' needs in both Meetings and Events. I find BlueJeans as easy to use or adapt to as any other virtually delivery competitor. I have used Zoom and Webex and while there are some slight differences I find that it is more of a personal preference. I personally like BlueJeans and have not found anything that would make me want to look for another product.

  • Having BlueJeans has increased meeting frequency due to ease of use and access.
  • Easier contact with Vendors and outside contacts.
  • Length of meeting times have increased due to more interaction and convenience of use from home environments.
BlueJeans has better troubleshooting of attendees over Zoom. BlueJeans scheduling interface is more intuitive than Zoom. Quality and call handling has seem a little better in the competitor products over BlueJeans especially when it comes to IP/H323 dialing and bridging.

All business functions from HR, Administration, and Business groups. We use BlueJeans in tandem with our IP/H323 infrastructure and physical room locations throughout our locations.

BlueJeans at the time we purchased was the best solution at the time. Since then Zoom has made strides and I feel that BlueJeans pushed education too far back on its priorities. Administration is still the best of any competitor, but quality has waned.
Timing was the biggest factor. So due to limited options when we first implemented BlueJeans, there was no other alternatives. In todays market I would be able to test and compare simultaneously.

BlueJeans has a great support site and many easy to follow videos on all features.
One thing I do like about BlueJeans is that their product is very intuitive and easy to adapt to. The support documentation and videos are for various features ar easy to find and easy to follow.
One of the advantages of BlueJeans is that the configuration is very easy to set up. It's not as complex as I have seen with other competitors.
We have found that using the BlueJeans app primarily has been a best practice for us. This limits problems with browser permissions to access cameras and microphones. This also keeps our users configurations static.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
No - we have not done any custom code
You have the ability to add company logos and custom backgrounds. I know the other competitors do as well, but this is a good option to allow our users and guests to maintain a similar look and "company" feel.
Never needed escalated support. BlueJeans has always been speedily responsive.
No
Recently an Engineer had followed up on an attendee who reported an issue with a call and sent logs from the call. Just the fact that this support engineer went out of his way to follow-up with attendee who was not a licensed account holder was amazing.
I have always had great response when contacting support.

Yes
I have used the app on my mobile devices and it works great!
Very easy to use.
I believe BlueJeans is easy to scale, but we have a different business model that requires a more central scheduling need. Most vendors operate on an enterprise wide environment with a one to one licensing. We have a centralized group of video administrators and schedulers that do the majority of the scheduling for multiple departments. Because we are a centralized scheduling group we need shared access to on schedule not multiple users delegating access to one another. I.E. if I have 5 schedulers, under the current licensing they would each have individual accounts and delegating those accounts to one another. So when receiving a support call they have to search 5 individual schedules to make changes to meetings. This I think is a valid need even for smaller businesses that just have a few schedulers for the rest of the groups. It would be easier if it scaled within the individual accounts.
I have to give this a 10 rating as we have never had issues with availability. Now "quality" is a different subject.
This has been a continual issue with our organization. We are a IP/H323 infrastructure so we integrate BlueJeans via the IP/H323 connections to the cloud. We still have inconsistent results with calls. Some work without issue and some calls are horribly choppy and at times freeze. If I have one complaint or reason to seek out a different competitor its this.
  • Poly Clariti Infrastructure
  • Poly Group and HDX Series Codecs
We pay for IP/H323 connectivity features which is an added feature. We primarily dial out from our infrastructure to both our internal units and the BlueJeans cloud connecting via IP/H323. The integration was easy, but the call quality is still a challenge.
  • Poly G7500 Codecs
I believe it does but we are still testing.
N/A
Integration is easy as long as we pay for the IP/H323 licensing. We also bridge call with other entities that have their own BlueJeans accounts. We bridge to sites within our infrastructure and these customers have to have their own IP/H323 licensing for us to schedule video with them. It is basically bring your own licensing.
We have a static enterprise video infrastructure with over 300 physical sites. Integrating BlueJeans is an easier way to open up connectivity to virtual/remote attendees at a lower expense that trying to build out a virtual extension of our current infrastructure. Licensing and capacity of an in-house solution does not compare and would be prohibitively expensive to implement, compared to what you can get from BlueJeans.
Very easy since licensing is very straight forward.
Our representatives have always been very easily accessible and responsive to all our needs.
I prefer not to answer this question.
More importantly like any other purchase. Do your homework and get comparable quotes from other vendors to be able to make a sound decision. Compare the licensing features and try to get as close to an apples to apples comparison. I found all vendors are willing to negotiate further if warranted.

Since the pandemic hit our country, we needed to find a good solution to move our educational courses online. We decided to use BlueJeans as a good option to deliver our courses online. After a few weeks of testing, we were convinced that this is a great and reliable tool for us to use. We received great praise from our team, our instructors, and our students. about the tool. We highly recommend BlueJeans.
  • Reliable
  • Good quality video
  • Good quality sounds
  • Small recording storage
  • No option to share recording with a password.
  • Slow admin pannel
BlueJeans is very easy to use for new users. UX is very good. It's less appropriate if you have many lectures recorded and what to share these recorded videos to many other people. There is no way how to limit video viewers (like password protect).

Current use cases for BlueJeans include conference calls, simple collaborative meetings, and interviews. Multiple departments across campus make use of the service and choose it for its reliability and ease of usefulness. Most recently, the College of Business used BlueJeans to host a multi-institutional competition. Most of the time, BlueJeans is used as an alternative to Zoom, with the ease of creating meetings with no moderator and auto-recording features.
  • Meeting scheduling with various advanced options.
  • Bandwidth prioritizing for low connection speeds.
  • Ease of use. Friendly interface.
  • Good customer service. I have made a few calls, and a solution is always presented.
  • Mass meeting scheduler would be nice, with certain advanced features being set as a default.
  • Advanced recording features shared screen options. Export options that match in the in-app video viewing.
  • Opt-out of e-mail notifications.
BlueJeans works excellently as a collaborative webinar tool for meetings with an excellent way of handing off just a meeting ID and simple instructions to a group for use and, as with most programs of this type, managing your offsite attendees audio and video can be challenging. If there were an option to disable interaction and then later enable it, that would be an excellent addition.

  • More streamlined interview processes
  • A reliable platform to host a competition.
  • Eleventh-hour requests for meeting IDs.
BlueJeans is reasonably close to Zoom. I do not have a paid account with Zoom, so I prefer BlueJeans when setting up a scheduled meeting. The app is very intuitive and feels relatively non-invasive. I like the phone-in service provided. We have used this quite a lot for clients with no internet connections. Thank you for everything you are continuing to do. We look forward to any new developments.

All users are in Higher Ed: Academic and Student Affairs, Center for Professional Selling, Center for Urban Education, School of Education, ITS, Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Most of these departments prefer BlueJeans for it's simplicity and features.
Knowledge of program, and troubleshooting techniques for most video conferencing software. Because of the recent shift to online platforms for education, most end users are becoming very knowledgeable on how to use Zoom, Teams, etc... and BlueJeans shares a similar layout design and control. All of our support staff for BlueJeans work for the ITS dept.
  • College of Professional Selling competitions. Most of the users are outside of the institution.
  • Center for Urban Education. Most of the users are High-schoolers and the ease of use, fits the mold there.
  • ITS uses BlueJeans for last minute meetings, the requests come in with no preferred format.
  • Definitely the Professional Selling Competitions. The auto-recording feature is very useful for post event grading.

Unfortunately, due to a budget crisis, stemming from low enrollment, further stemming from COVID-19, the likelihood of renewal is waning. Given the fact that our institution already subscribes to multiple video-conferencing platforms, some of them are being cut from this years budget. Hopefully we will be able to keep a few licences.

Ease of use, and a very non-invasive, downloadable app. Many users have been very pleased with how easy it is to use compared to other platforms. The consistent feedback response we receive from end users is how simple the whole process was. So, yes... ease of use is the single most important factor.
I wouldn't change a thing.

No lessons to speak of.

The product was very intuitive and the only training required was for a handful of end users. Mostly on where to find the downloadable app and other technical related issues: connecting webcams and mics.
Just the right amount of configuration.
Make sure that the web camera that you are using for BlueJeans isn't in use by another program. Use a secondary monitor when screensharing if you wish to share a desktop display. Always test all of your technology prior to meeting start and try to be on a wired internet connection.

BlueJeans is used for more high profile meetings in our more technologically advanced conference rooms. It is also available to the entire organization as an option for specific needs. The main need is if presenters would like to share videos.

The teams the currently uses BlueJeans the most are our Pristine Seas team and the Education team. For both, it provides that video sharing functionality that other services do not currently have.
  • Customer service is great! A company may have a great product but if customer service is terrible, that company may lost customers. On the other hand, a company may have an ok product but the customer service is so exceptional, that it might not even matter what the product is. With BlueJeans, both the product and customer service are top quality!
  • Our major selling point is that BlueJeans provides a way to seamlessly share videos remotely. No other platform we have tried has a way of doing this as well as BlueJeans.
  • BlueJeans is also very flexible on the amount of people that may join a call. Customer service may provide options for even higher counts (150+) if needed.
  • The BlueJeans analytics for each meeting are an important part for any company looking to have a transparent eco friendly approach. We often share how many miles, gas, etc. funds have been saved because the meeting was virtual instead of in person.
  • Video sharing could be made better by allowing people to simply go through their presentation (Keynot/PowerPoint, etc.) without having to upload the video ahead of time (I believe BlueJeans is working on this).
  • Providing an option to choose what join information to share with remote participants would also be great. Currently, every option is sent (joining from phone, mobile, and a videoconference unit). Most of the time, we are sending to participants who do not and will not be using a videoconference unit. I usually just delete that information from the message, but it would be easier (and one less step) if that could be an option.
Well suited for applications where you want to have a high quality video conference experience and incorporate screen sharing and video sharing. May not be necessary for lower profile meetings with just a handful of remote participants that do not require screen sharing (or require very minimal screen sharing).

  • Money saved on travel expenses for remote participants. (Food, transportation, hotels, etc.)
  • Time savings on important matters; instead of waiting a day or 2 to coordinate travel to get a remote participant in town to discuss, we can set up a BlueJeans meeting within minutes.
  • Better remote experience for our teams that have a large catalog of video content that must be share with remote participants.
We've used a number of different platforms over the years. BlueJeans is probably among the top, if not for anything more than the video sharing component.
Joining a meeting is easy. The options and instructions provided are pretty straightforward. The only issues we have had is people not knowing if they are muted on their mics or not.

Knowledge of the BlueJeans command center. However anyone with a basic to moderate understanding of computers and website navigation along with videoconference support experience should be able to support BlueJeans.
  • Using it so share videos
  • International phone dialing options

  • As a way to document meetings (recording) without necessarily having someone on the other end
  • As a way to interface with non BlueJeans videoconference products
  • As better features are added, BlueJeans becomes more valuable

We are heavily invested in another platform. However the features are not quite the same as BlueJeans. If they do become more like BlueJeans (especially the video sharing), then our need for BlueJeans would significantly decrease. An even better option would be if they bought BlueJeans...
Yes
We were using a number of platforms (GoToMeeting, WebEx) and settled on BlueJeans and Google Hangouts as the main 2 supported platforms.
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
  • Prior Experience with the Product
The video sharing remains to be the most important factor in why we are keeping BlueJeans...
I'm not sure if it would change too much or at all.
  • Implemented in-house
No
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled
How important it is to have change management involved at every step of the process
  • User testing
  • User adoption
It was not as hard as initially thought
  • Online training
  • Self-taught
It is straight forward and easy to understand
Yes. There may be a slight learning curve for those with admin rights...
Just right for this type of product...
Perhaps provide a way to have global settings for different groups. For example, an admin team may want to have remote participants muted on entry, but other meetings may not want that option. Although this setting may be set on a per meeting (or recurring meeting) basis, maybe it could also be tied to a group or team...
No - there is no facility to customize the interface
No - the product does not support adding custom code
No configuration has been made
Support is pretty good and reliable. The confusing part on our end is that we seem to meet a new support person every 2-3 months...
Yes
Not, but it was addressed very well. We think it is a but beyond the control of BlueJeans.
Yes...We have been dealing with an issue for most of the year where audio would drop out for one of our remote participants from only one of our conference rooms. We tried everything, including switching out systems, rewiring the rooms, upgrading firmware, etc. The BlueJeans team sat in on a couple of calls and provided more details regarding what could possibly be happening. Some of these calls lasted 4 hours!

They did not have to do that, but they did. Although the issue was not resolved (we think it's just a bad room, although it is one of our more technically advanced rooms), we appreciate the support team going above and beyond....
  • Chat
  • Screensharing
  • Mic control options
  • Video sharing
  • Polling/Q&A
Yes
Really well
Options are provided to scale up or down the software based on needs.
BlueJeans if usually available when we need it. We have used it on holidays, on weekends, and at all times of days with no problem. BlueJeans is also very communicative when there are issues affecting availability....
BlueJeans is fairly quick at loading when we need things to load.
  • Google Calendar
It was integrated fairly simple, but had to be removed since it is not our main platform.
There are options that allow for someone to call into an IP number tied to a Google Hangouts (i.e. Pexip, Videxio, etc.)...
  • Single Signon
It is fairly easy to integrate...
Ensure you have the right components necessary for a successful integration.
They were very easy to work with and were very responsive to our needs.
They were (and are) easy to work with....
