Frequently Asked Questions
Box is an online cloud content management solution that caters to individual users as well as businesses.
Its a very intuitive product. I am sure there are lots of features and functions that I am still not aware of, but the service has been easy enough to learn as I go without needing to be sent for extensive training in order to understand how to get started.
Box provides a great environment to share data and makes working on a project easier, especially if that project involves lots of parties, either external or internal, from various locations across the globe. The folder management is user-friendly and is very similar to managing a regular folder on Windows.
I learned how to use Box very quickly. The main functions include opening and sharing a file, which are two of the most simple tasks to complete while using the Box.
Overall, Box is an easy and intuitive platform. I was asked to use it by a vendor in order to upload and share larger files. Box more than met this need and is something I would recommend to others in similar situations where email may not be the most effective method for sharing/collaborating.
It is so simple and easy to use. Even a new user can grasp the tools and other functions of the platform very easily and quickly. Most of the tools are self explanatory. So there is no need of looking for help to try out a new task which the user hasn't performed before.
I will give credit where credit is due, Box's interface is definitely easy to use. Files and folders can easily be found, and the audit trail is especially helpful on critical documents.
Everything with Box is seamless. It can be integrated into virtually any other software or application. You can even get the app for your phone or tablet to work on the go. File syncing is so quick. The only reason I gave it a 9 is the issue I discussed earlier about the local file application rebooting and not continuing to sync files. Other than that, it's great!
I think I can only describe it as excellent. All aspects of Box work without problem, quickly and efficiently. The file upload and download systems are quite fast, the process of access from different platforms is carried out without problems, so far no document has been generated in conflicts or unexpected copies, or any type of error.
Box is dead simple to use. It's no different from a hard drive filesystem. You can easily navigate around, and the search feature works quite well also. You can access most recent files, or you can sort alphabetically, just as with a standard filesystem. The usability is about as simple as it can get, with no unnecessary features clogging up the UI.
Box is very user friendly and very easy to learn. When we get a new call center, i have no problems teaching them how to upload their call recordings to Box so i can download them to our server.
• Navigation uses a tree directory structure which is easy enough to use, but sometimes files are not where you expect them to be. For example, documents that get stored through autosync with Salesforce are stored in their own folder separately from other related documents. Took a while to figure this out.
The program is generally easy-to-use, but there are some issues with the file structure metaphor. It can be confusing for people accustomed to working with tree file structures. For example, if I share a folder with someone which is several levels down in my folder hierarchy, the shared folder displays at the root level for the person with which I shared. This is confusing and is not adequately covered in the training or documentation.”
Once it is configured, most users can share files simply by dragging files to the synchronized directory. For those who need it, the administrative interface is very intuitive.
