(1-4 of 4)The best entry level video editing software for Windows
- Screen Recording - Camtasia has all the tools that you need to create a professional screen-recording for your company.
- Video Editing - Camtasia is a very competent video editor, especially for entry level users.
- Training - Camtasia has a large online library of training videos that will get new users up and running quickly.
- Video Editing Shortcuts - Camtasia does video editing so well that you quickly want to use more advance functionality like that found in Adobe Premiere Pro. However, Camtasia does not have some of the speed editing feature that you find in the more advance programs.
- Stock Content - Camtasia comes with some stock music, titles, and transition, and although the library has grown over time, it still isn't up to some of the competitors.
- Multi-track Timeline Functionality - Camtasia does have multi-track editing and it does work well for what it does, but it hasn't advanced much over time.
- We have saved thousands of dollars on outside video editing fees by using Camtasia in-house.
- We have saved hundreds of dollars in licensing fees by using Camtasia instead of subscription based licensing from Adobe.
- We have increased our training output by enabling more of our trainers to begin editing videos using Camtasia.

Camtasia brings needed features in an intuitive interface
- Annotation tools: easy to call out video elements for viewers.
- Text overlay: makes instruction easy.
- Audio plugins would allow for better audio enhancement, editing.
- The narration feature doesn’t always trigger the video to play while you record. This makes it harder to make sure timing is correct.
- Camtasia has allowed us to provide asynchronous learning NT to clients.
- It has enabled us to communicate clearly to customers more effectively than text alone. It's faster than creating text and screenshot tutorials while consuming significantly less time than a live call requires.
1. A more intuitive, less technical user interface than Premiere.
Couple this with features like narration, noise removal and basic, but useful audio editing features, Camtasia is FL great for users who don’t have the time to tweak and dial in other solutions in the market.
Camtasia/TechSmith Relay is a basic, easy to use screen capture program which has its pros and cons!

- Automated closed captioning would be great!
- Many faculty members used it because it was easy to use and accomplish what they needed.

- Account management within our system and assigning permissions required a few steps when granting access.

- Recording instructional videos for navigating and using programs on a computer with audio.
- We've also had users re-record presentations online that were streamed on their computer to be able to save.
- We had class conferences that were not downloadable and had a 14-day time limit on how long they would be viewable and Camtasia was able to record them as they were being played back on their computer and saved as a file to keep permanently.

Camtasia Gets You Up and Running Quickly
- Internal employee software training videos. This is where Camtasia really excels, as you're able to record all your screen activity and add highlights, call-outs, etc. to your video during the editing phase.
- External pre-recorded webinars or training.
- Editing post-webinar recordings for later distribution.
- I haven't yet come across something I've wanted to do and haven't been able to do.
- Even when it takes you a bit to figure out how to do something, or where to go to find it, there's probably a training video or other help files available.
It certainly doesn't have all the bells and whistles of Adobe Premiere Pro, but for the average business user or marketing team, it should meet your needs and is much easier to learn quickly.
- We've been able to provide our employees with timely training information. For example, teaching the basics of using Salesforce in our organization.
- We've been able to provide training videos for clients that are more polished than just recording a presentation. The ability to edit audio and video, add transitions and fades, add call-out boxes and text... all add to a nice finished product.
- Our marketing team is always juggling multiple projects... Camtasia's ease of use translates into quicker project completion.
Our IT team also uses Camtasia to create internal and external videos on how to use our proprietary client-facing software.
