Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why
Canto is and has been our go-to web DAM for several years now for our internal files as well as files we share with our clients via portals and we are quite pleased! I can't say it needs any improvement, other than perhaps training our internal department how to organize our files better. I highly recommend Canto. Plus, their customer service is amazing.
Canto is a great option for creative teams who want to move their files (graphics, raw images, edited images, PDFs, documents, etc.) off of an organization's server. It can be an incredible warehouse of cloud storage for old versions of files as well as creating a one-stop-shop for all master versions of files. Canto is also helpful for IT teams who want to reduce server load on their websites. It is a great third-party option if you have the capabilities to either utilize an API connection or to train website content admins on uploading files here. You can also utilize some of their other tools for creatives to create interactive style guides for an organization's branding. It is a robust digital asset management platform, where the only exception might be housing/sharing video content.
We use Canto to support our campaign launches and major media stories. It allows our photographers to upload images directly from the event, sort, filter, tag, so the rest of the team can access and curate a collection very quickly. These images are then used in real-time to support comms, especially social media.
If you have a continuous influx of imagery coming in, Canto is the perfect system to store and organise the content effectively. It allows you to not only store the media, but also share elements, add to collections, or to a shared portal space. The system works flexibly so you have multiple functions in one space.
Canto has solved our bottleneck problem for colleagues outside Marketing requesting Marketing collateral.
Extremely useful for finding photos of things and people across our vast library of photo and video media.
I cannot think of a scenario where it would not be useful.
Canto is excellent as a photo library where you can organize images into groups with individual permissions, tags, and a keyword search. The cloud-based library makes it possible for our remote users to upload photos directly into the library. Canto has excellent customer support and they are quick to resolve any issues.
It cannot be used to cut and paste information into documents, as uploaded images are automatically rasterized. The upload interface is limited to a general upload space and therefore open to other users that can potentially see photos that are not their own.
Canto has saved our organization a tremendous of time in transferring, sharing and organizing assets.
Canto is very functional for power users, those who are technically savvy and who use it frequently. For the general user who accesses it less, it's not completely user friendly. It requires frequent use and instructions, which I had to draft for our employees. I love that my professional photographers can upload their images directly into the system and then I, as the admin, am able to review them, add the metadata and move them into the library. It eliminates the need for the different ways our photographers were sending us their photos.
I priced a number of different applications including Canto. After doing a valuations on a product they narrowed it down to three, Canto being one of the three. After reviewing the other products and Canto I found that Canto provided for more capabilities it is substantially reduced cost. Canto has helped us to improve our ability to deliver contents to a very large Group of individuals within the university. This product has helped us to broaden our ability to share a message in a very powerful way.
I think [Canto] is a great service as we are using it daily. It has definitely helped increase our graphic design and sales departments communicate better with each other getting them the right assets all the time for each of their stores.
We would definitely recommend Canto to a colleague. If your asset library is growing at a rapid pace and becoming unmanageable, th[e]n you need Canto. The way the program is built [...] makes it super easy to organize and have governance over. This is a must-have program if you are suffering [from] content control and organization.
Canto is very well suited for media and image assets. It is very visual and makes it easy to browse and find images and videos by sight. The customer-facing and b2b facing interfaces are well done and provide a lot to work with for a solid experience. I don't think Canto would be a great solution for more document-heavy uses where a visual component wasn't the primary problem that needed to be addressed. I also don't think that Canto is a great replacement for pure file storage. For instance, we use Canto on the Creative team end to store our toolkit files or final files, but we do not use Canto to house our working files. Just the final product from those working files that is approved for use or deployment to our consumers or vendor partners.
We are able to share whole folders of images with our team members as well as with outside clients from one platform. We assign work to each other from here as well. Sharing with outside clients is one of my favorite points. I can share a link to the content with them without having to re-upload images to Google Drive or Dropbox or Onedrive.
I wouldn't use to work on iterations of images and documents, though. You'll just have to replace the document in full.
I wouldn't use to work on iterations of images and documents, though. You'll just have to replace the document in full.
We've been using Canto specifically for our photo library. It does well managing images and large datasets. We have not used it for many other documents, so I cannot speak to other scenarios.
Canto delivers most of the same functionality of its competitors at a price that's much more realistic for a nonprofit organization.
Canto can definitely help a company efficiently store and find their assets, especially if they have a lot of them (files in the thousands). The ability to visually see and search for a file in seconds is why our company signed up. Their support staff has also been nothing short of amazing. I will say, though, if you're looking for an easy way to share assets outside of your organization without too much hassle, Canto can be a bit clunky sometimes.
Canto is well suited for a team that has trouble keeping their content organized, have multiple clients they need to gather content for, have many ongoing projects, and when content is used throughout different departments. I would say it's not well suited for a company that does not particularly work with content but works with documents - It's more of a visual platform.
I will recommend this tool to all digital marketing agencies as it will help you to organize your work and provide you a better route to carry out your daily work. Further, it will help you to assist your team and provides you good collaboration. It will also provide you a notification about the folders, like when they were created and which is the folder that is still untouched.
If you have a large number of assets, with people requesting detailed things, it's great to be able to send them to do their own search. It's a huge time-saver for our designers and social media folks. It's also going to come in very handy with regard to historical items. Our company has been in business since 1894, and it will be a great way to store, and share, parts of our history.
Canto is well suited for situations where I need to collect photos from several people outside my organization - I can create an upload link. It's also well suited for sharing a collection of photos with people outside my team or outside my organization. It's less appropriate when I need to collaborate with a large group outside my organization in a way that folks need to share photos (upload) and download photos from the same space.
If you have to manage more than 300 files for imagery that other users have to also use, Canto is the right solution for you.
Canto is great solution for organisations with a large image or video library. It a great product if you have to manages multiple brands like we do. If you use Adobe products the connective between them and Canto is a real plus it has saved us so much time. The price compared to most of the competition was a big part of why we moved to Canto.
Canto is a very useful digital asset management platform. From our experience, is a great tool for large global companies, with a need of centralizing assets and make them accessible in an organized, and user-friendly way. Lots of options for customization, to organize and tailor the portal for very specific needs.
Canto is well suited to companies with a vast digital asset bank as it lets users use multiple filters to really drill down to exactly what they want. It would be less appropriate for smaller businesses with only a handful of images that could easily be dealt with manually since a lot of filter selections would lead to no results.
