Capterra is well suited when we were looking for a new platform during the last pandemic. We had no prior experience in using a software that would provide comprehensive and adequate technological coverage for our operations across Canada because we have all our staff working from home and they are scattered all over Canada. So using Capterra allowed us to easily find a platform or software that readily meets all our needs and expectations.

When choosing new software to use for our organization I, like most other people, like to read reviews first. I check a few places, first to make sure they are legit, and then read customer reviews. That is where Capterra comes into play. I can always get feedback and honest thoughts from Capterra. A plus is that it is free to use.
Pros and Cons
  • They list the cost of the product in the review, and that is something we all want to know up front.
  • You can find comparisons. Maybe the product you want is out of your price range, well they show you the next best thing.
  • Some products also highlight a list of features.
  • I don't have any negatives. When you first sign up, there was a quiz to help you find the products you are looking for.
  • Another positive, not at all negative, is that you can earn rewards for reviews.
  • Only negative, they need a mobile friendly app.
Likelihood to Recommend
Capterra is best suited for anyone, from business owners looking to upgrade new system software at work to someone looking for reliable internet security at home, Capterra will assist in your decision. It may be less appropriate for anything outside of software, I.E. Medical advice. But if you need help with choosing products for your small business management, this is it.

I am always looking for new software for the various parts of my business and more specifically my business funnel. Capterra helps me a lot with my purchasing decisions as I rely on the reviews of others plus the general information of the product. Capterra offers both of those in a concise and easy to understand way.

  • It's not so clear when product reviews are being sponsored
  • You can offer more sorting options like by price or number of reviews
  • Sometimes I wonder if reviews are sponsored by the organization. If that's the case perhaps make it more clear. People would like to know if the review is potentially biased.

If you're a new entrepreneur and getting into the online world, Capterra is a wonderful resource to help you get started with investing in tech and software, which every online entrepreneur needs and which can often times seem overwhelming. I used it to help me get off the ground when it came time to invest in software and I appreciate a service like this.

We often need to make decisions on softwares as our company develops and grows. Capterra helps us ensure that we can quickly rule out softwares which may not be of the standard or flexibility we need, saving us time and money in testing, demoing etc.. Currently, we assess different products against one another using Capterra.

I'd highly recommend Capterra for users or companies who are making organisational changes and moving from being small to medium in size. Capterra will help make quick decisions and assessments. I wouldn't suggest it be used to make final decisions - just to make initial assessments and rule out certain routes and compare pricing and functionality in an easy way.

Capterra is a good site where you can see reviews for almost every tool used in IT, Programming, Design, Marketing, etc. I use it for personal use and it sometimes helps me to get good ideas of tools we can use at my company. You can see reviews for a wide range of demographics.
Pros and Cons
  • It has a fast and wide database to search for products/sites.
  • It has a compensation program for reviews.
  • No all the sites or applications listed are accurate to the job you perform.
Likelihood to Recommend
If you want to get a good sense of if an application or site will work for you, go to Capterra. You can use it later to cross-check information with other competitors like Quora or TrustRadius. It motivates the reviewers by compensating them with gift cards which I believe makes the reviews more reliable.
