Catchpoint

Moving to Catchpoint was very easy and fast. With the ease of use, good documentation and email updates, support team assistance, and UI hints on each service we were using. Everything was easy and like a charm. Compared to other product providers, they are way better than others in the field.

After acquiring Catchpoint, the onboarding process was remarkably swift. I seamlessly integrated the system and began noticing tangible results within a short timeframe of just a few days. This efficiency surpassed my prior experiences with similar products, highlighting Catchpoint's user-friendly approach. The discernible impact on performance monitoring, coupled with its intuitive setup, sets Catchpoint apart from competitors. Its rapid deployment and immediate efficacy make it a valuable asset, ensuring a seamless transition and quick realization of its benefits in comparison to other solutions I've utilized in the past.

When I joined Edgio (Edgecast) back in 2013, Catchpoint was already a tool that was being utilised within the organisation. After attending an initial one-hour demo and setting up a few monitoring tests, I quickly became comfortable with the platform's features and functionalities. As time went on, I continued to learn about more advanced capabilities of Catchpoint, as well as the various updates and new features released by the company. These releases kept pace with industry trends, ensuring that our organisation was always equipped with the latest performance testing tools and techniques. In addition to providing an initial demo and training session, Catchpoint's support team consistently delivered follow-up trainings to ensure we were maximising the potential of their platform.

Product has been purchased and used by Org for the past 5 years, during that time there have been several iterations around changes made to our internal automation that we've successfully been able to adapt synthetic monitoring technologies for the use-case.

* In about 20 days, we were able to successfully migrate all the tests from the previous monitoring solution

After purchasing the product, we can get it up and running within a week and start setting up the tests. [With the exception of] scripted synthetic monitoring, setting up everything else is quite easy [and] with [a] little bit [of] understanding, you can start utilizing [the] features of Catchpoint. I have [had] the chance to also explore New Relic, which provided full-stack monitoring, but when it [came] to synthetic monitoring, Catchpoint serves [that] much better.

It was easy to use, and we were able to set it up quite fast.

The timeframe for seeing results with Catchpoint depends on the specific monitoring use case and the metrics being tracked. Some results, such as basic availability and response time measurements, can be observed almost immediately after the initial setup. However, more comprehensive results, such as identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing user experiences, or detecting trends and patterns, may require continuous monitoring over a period of time to gather sufficient data for analysis.

I inherited the installation of our product, but I have been able to continue to maintain it and add small tests here and there as needed

After the initial purchase, we were provided with access to the Catchpoint scripting team if/when necessary to make the transition faster. We did ask about the best practices for how we should arrange the scripts or for writing the scripts but we never received a best-practice document or guidelines. This was a few years ago so hopefully, the product has now matured and can provide future customers with a best-practice document today.

The solution was implemented in less than 2 weeks with the support of Catchpoint. There were no surprises with the time it took to implement as this was mentioned early on in the discussions. It was also quite simple as it was just to ensure that we set up the tests properly (i.e right frequency for example). Furthermore, whenever we did have questions, our customer success representative was very helpful.

It took us around 2 months initially to get the stuff setup and working for a meaningful level of tests. POC was quicker.

Catchpoint is very easy to set up and we could almost immediately start setting up monitoring tests in the tool. It was easier to set up alerting and onboard more tests in a short span of time. We started noticing immediate results with our synthetic monitoring tests and were able to identify performance bottlenecks in our websites.

We used the company managed Catchpoint which was very easy to configure. But compared to the old UI, the new UI is very complex and difficult to manage and map the existing alerts. But the result wise, both looked similar and we were able to set it up quickly as possible.

Same day. It's simple to use.

It is easy to traverse. Anyone can operate it within 30mins. UI is easygoing.

Our engagement did include having direct professional service with Catchpoint as we were trying to migrate over to their service from existing so it was not just a new implementation. From a test recording standpoint to get things started a web browser plug-in makes it easy to start but once you dig into the wealth of information it can be very overwhelming due to the vast amount of options available to slice and dice with.

It's easy and use mostly the template that were defined as high level, and it easy to inherit from top to bottom

the product was in use already when I was onboarded, so I don't really have any onboarding pros and/or cons regarding that, though the onboarding of new team members and their usage is/was almost instant

We had a small 1-year contract in the beginning just to get a POC in place before committing to a long-term contract. Our CSM and TAM were eager to get us up and running and way before the end of the first year, we had everything in place.

We faced a real issue when we were not using Catchpoint. Earlier, we needed to debug the whole system to find out the breaking issue if it couldn't be found in the logs. After implementing Catchpoint for our organization, we could maximize the revenue by knowing the exact issue. Then we know most of the time how to resolve it as soon as possible.

We were able to set up Catchpoint on all our brands - 60+ in less than a month. It was quite quick for us and we did not face any critical issues. the CP Team was also very helpful in setting up the connection and providing a KT session for the dashboard and the portal.

Catchpoint has a learning curve. But once I got the proper tests to work, the results were almost immediate. Could quickly see site performance from various points of view.

Initially, there were challenges since it was a new system and we knew little about it but the customer support and the self-help pages of the tools were of real help initially it took time for us to understand it but the kind of support that this tool provides and the documentation pages are of real help.

The setup is easy but you need to follow it in the first phase just to see if the tests are properly running (some sites block requests coming from the synthetic tools). When the setup is ready, 1 week is enough for having enough data. Having the data, you can start the analysis (just another couple of days)
