In my organization, we have moved to use century link services from large scale to small scale for the reason of being sometimes unreliable and consistent services. We are not using this for any large-scale server-side activities. We have limited the use of it to certain aspects for better control of the services. The mobile platform is the main scope for these services as of now.
  • Small platform integration specially mobile related.
  • Cost effective services.
  • Great customer services.
  • Handling large scale deployment and continuous services.
  • Infrastructure related investment can prove very worthy.
  • Integration with local tools and in house applications.
It is well suited based on our experience for small-scale projects where there are not very critical production-related activities happening. It will be easy to control and handle within a small set of deployments or platforms such as mobile-related activities. I don't recommend it for large server-scale deployment because we have seen inconsistencies with the connectivity of services.
  • Handling the load of services.
  • Integration with in house tools and applications.
  • Support during deployments.
  • Breadth of features.
  • Security.
  • Widely availability.
  • AT&T Business
AT&T I would say is the leader within this area in terms of handling any large-scale deployments and their services are awesome. No connectivity issues at all and no latency in feedback. Server deployments are handled very effectively, that's not the case with century link. Of course, security is second to none with AT&T.

We implemented this in a large office complex of 7 stories and roughly a thousand users. This service is proven to all users in the facility and has been quite stable since its implementation. We have this running via fiber throughout the building and are using Unifi Pro networking equipment on top of the service.
  • Speed has been consistent.
  • Reliability of uptime.
  • Hardware has been solid.
  • Configuration.
  • Implementation.
  • Customer Service.
CenturyLink Ethernet Services (now known as Lumen) in our area is one of only a few options for fiber service. They have a really large infrastructure and offer competitive pricing with comparable speed to others. We found there was much to be desired in the customer service department. When we had techs onsite to assist in setting up it was fine but there was an issue with the additional networking equipment which caused the service connection to be delayed... Then once that problem was fixed we attempted to get help in the final configuration for many weeks.
  • Speed.
  • Price.
  • Reliability.
  • Positive: After configuration and initial setup service has been great. We have a call center running off the service and calls have much less jitter now.
  • Positive: Fiber speeds have helped us execute daily tasks quicker.
  • Negative: Much time and money wasted on the initial configuration and setup.

CenturyLink Ethernet Services is our primary service provider. We have had great support and a solid connection since we started using their service. We chose it because it offered us the best options, like a Firewall, for the lowest price. We have only had two service disruptions and both were due too construction crews cutting the cable. Both of these issues were quickly resolved by CenturyLink. For the past 9 years we have had offers to switch from other service providers but none could offer us the same service and options for the same price. We are very happy and do not plan to change.
  • Maintain connection quality
  • Lower costs than competiters
  • Great customer service
  • Timely repairs
  • Offer better line location for construction
  • Available in more states
  • Quality of service reports monthly
We have CenturyLink [Ethernet] as our primary service and another company as our secondary. When both lines were cut during storm drain construction the CenturyLink line was repaired within a couple of hours. The secondary line was not repaired for a week. We would like it if their service was available in all the states we have offices but it is not.
  • Always connected
  • Quality of service
  • Price
  • ROI was better than some competiters
  • Fast connection speeds
  • Quick updates to software and hardware
