Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

  • Cisco AnyConnect connects the machine with the VPN very smoothly in a few clicks also provides security with Multi-Factor Authentication.
  • It Provides the facility of creating Network groups such as Local and Project Network so that user can limit the connectivity options.
  • The System scan feature is so robust, it Scans the System every time we connect to a new network and remembers the older Network and does not Scans while we connect to usual Netwroks.
  • Cisco AnyConnect does not let the machine connect with Slow internet Connections and sometimes It forcefully tries to connect to other networks rather than the chose one.
  • Sometimes System Scan takes longer than usual time thus it can be improved.

  • Very stable connections to the corporate network.
  • Internet remains as speedy and stable as without using this VPN client.
  • Works with OpenVPN standards.
  • Reliable connection.
  • 2 Factor Authentication apps such as Mi-Token supported.
  • Sometimes when the number of users is large for a VPN service, the connection fails, and the client doesn't give a proper error.
  • It should have better support for Linux. It is difficult to set up on Linux, and the interface for settings is not at all user-friendly.
  • A few times, the internet becomes slow after connecting to the VPN server through AnyConnect. It should be able to find the best and the optimal server while connecting.

  • Easy to use, you just have to click once to connect and you are in.
  • Highly secured VPN service
  • Host scan feature and easy maintenance.
  • VPN connection resets after 12 hours, there is an automatic timer in the client, which disconnects after 12 hours. If you increase that to 16, it will be a great move.
  • Manual addition of the domain name, especially for those who switch between multiple private networks, it's a bit more consuming and mundane task.
  • There are hard times to connect to VPN, even if the internet drops for a mill second, it faces difficulty in reconnecting to the network.

  • Seamless integration with existing AD.
  • Stable connection with low overhead for client.
  • Client check and auto-update AnyConnect client software makes it easier to manage.
  • Licensing costs can be a bit expensive.
  • Requires Cisco subscription for updates to client software.
  • Requires Cisco firewall.

  • Easy installation and configuration. Upon downloading the software, the setup prompts are very intuitive and well-integrated with single sign-on using your company login credentials.
  • Fast and reliable remote access connection. The VPN access, system scan and DNS protection are all typically completed in less than 10 seconds, and the connection is held continuously for a period of 18 hours without any interruption.
  • Intuitive layout and accessibility to network and diagnostic information. A quick Status Overview summary is available in 1-click, and the connection time elapsed and remaining are continuously displayed in the viewer window.
  • Software currently relies on soft token two-factor authentication through PingID. Hard token option or other means of authentication would be a helpful feature for employees with alternate preferences.
  • System Scan is mandatory and sometimes does not quickly run to completion. There have been instances where the System Scan got stuck at 10% complete for several minutes, which prompts me to disconnect and try again. These are rare (maybe 1 in 100 connection attempts), but cost valuable time.
  • Slow to reject a mistyped password. If a login password is mistyped, the connection attempt proceeds for several seconds before prompting a re-enter of the password, which is a minor inconvenience and time loss.

  • Autoconnections are seamless for the users. There's nothing for them to do once it's all setup.
  • It recognizes security certificates for the PC and user, so you can easily lock down the connectivity to the specific users and/or machines you need for your environment.
  • Unless the WIFI is extremely poor, the software can make the connection and allow your users to function on the VPN.
  • The client logs are usually good enough to begin troubleshooting issues - for example if you aren't getting good enough WIFI for connections or the certificates have expired and so on. However I wish they had more robust logs available without installing their special tools from Cisco support.
  • I wish it could prevent users from open[ing] applications while it was attempting to connect. It's usually super fast to make connections, but this is based on the WIFI to some degree. Occasionally, we have users open Outlook too fast and add-ins gets disabled. It's not really a problem with this software, but I do wish it had the ability to prevent apps from opening until the connection is made or fails.

  • A secure client supported on lots of devices and operating systems
  • Can be combined with AV and end point protection
  • Can be combined with 2FA and DUO
  • Can be combined with ISE
  • Words well with LDAP and active directory
  • Thick and thin based clients
  • Split DNS only supports IP based objects / FQDN support would be good
  • Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client could improve by optimizing the use of the system resources, it is heavy on the resources, mainly in windows,
  • Ability to support Biometrics
  • Linux compatibility

  • Profiles to be created for different users or locations.
  • Allow passthrough of home network resources.
  • Greater collaboration with DUO 2FA.
  • Some features have to be requested instead of configured myself.
  • You have to add it as a service to your Meraki MX.
  • It does not recognize it is on the same network and disconnects if still running when they arrive at the office.

  • Multi-factor authentication feature to establish a connection.
  • Advanced AES security to keep data connection secure.
  • Secure, stable and reliable connection.
  • Allows you to access company resources when you are not on the company network.
  • In my case, I observed that during initial connection it connects and reconnects 2-3 times and then finally makes a stable connection.
  • Auto-password saving feature could save some time of the user.
  • More advanced level of security can be applied to data connection.
  • Threat management system can be improved.
