  • Cisco Nexus switches as Core routers connecting a customer site to the datacenter via a private WAN.
  • Trunking between the 5508-X and a cisco 3750 switch to allow different VLANs access to the internet via the same firewall.
  • Cisco Meraki Access Points behind the 5508-X.
One of our customers required access to the internet when working from home via the office internet, as a result, we implemented AnyConnect for each and every user and forced their home traffic to go to the office and breakout to the internet via the office connection. This helps with possible traffic interception when using non-secure home wifi or internet cafes.

I've utilised Cisco ISR router on the outside and switches on the inside - I find having one vendor eases the integration.

We have integrated ASA into our Solarwinds products, so we can monitor the traffic beyond ASA graphics. The product works fine with each other and because Cisco is widely used it is easy to find articles if we encounter any issue.

  • cisco Advanced malware protection
Last year our company was attacked by malware and at that time we were not using any protection for malware so we choose Advanced Malware Protection AMP. This is really a very advanced product for protection against the old and latest malware. AMP scan every packet deeply to find every type of malware attack on your organization.

We used Cisco for our organization's network security. We created multiple Site 2 Site VPNs with our vendors and partners and its worked smoothly without having any issue. Even in case of primary link down, it automatically failovers to the secondary configured link. We also used its remote VPN feature and connect[ed] the office infra from home using Cisco AnyConnect. [It] is so easy and [an] IT person doesn't need to educate users how to use it as it's so user-friendly. If any traffic is blocked, we can get the exact visibility from the traffic logs.

  • Amazon Firewall
We have integrated the product with Cisco AnyConnect to set up a secure VPN, and this has benefited our organization a lot because we do not experience any cyber attacks at all. Before we implemented these solutions, we used to experience a lot of attacks and threats and we were always losing important financial information, so this has become a great help to us.

Our Cisco ASA 5500-X with FirePOWER Services solution adds next-generation firewall features such as application control and visibility, allowing us to have visibility into all traffic on our network, create control policies, block applications, sub-applications, etc. With URL filtering we are also able to block sites by specific categories and prevent access to prohibited sites. We have integration with the VPN that allows us to work in the home office and access the internal network of the smartphone or home PC.

The Cisco ASA [5500-X with FirePOWER Services] can integrate into many different systems. Some of the best ones would be adding it to Cisco Secure X for better visibility of the networks secured boarders. When you add that with AMP then you can see and understand how threats are coming into your clients. Any connect is a good VPN that is built into the ASA. You can really secure how the VPN can connect and what the clients can do once it is installed. This can take some time to setup all the way but once it is setup it works really well. I would say any connect, when connected to an ASA provides a better than average VPN experience. You can use LDAP for controller who accesses the firewall and have it tie to any connect so the user can use the same credentials to login. When you do these things you can see where the client is connecting from (IP), what their end points are doing and if any risks like malware or viruses are attempting to run.
