Zip through your Cisco UC deployments using BE7K
I've set up collaboration nodes for a few of our customers. Used this to support small-sized and medium-sized deployments. Small being under 1000 users and medium being a 3000 user set up. Application servers came pre-installed/pre-deployed, so that saved a lot of our time which usually would've been spent in downloading iso files copying them to datastores and setting up the nodes.
- The fact that the nodes come pre-installed.
- Easy to set up.
- Saves a lot of installation, pre-installation time.
- Integrated email notifications on hardware failure.
- Expensive

Great product!
It's being used across the whole organization, except the customer's branches. At the time of implementation, there were no problems on the servers. I have installed publisher, subscribers, expressway C and E, and unity connection, although the servers have space to create more virtual machines. As of today, I have more than a thousand registered users.
- Capacity
- Powerful
- Flexible
- Licensing
- VMware knowledge
- Some bugs over CIMC

All in one UC platform to drive the enterprise
Cisco BE7K was used by our organisation as a mid-size branch communication platform. With all the necessary UC apps included in one solution BE7K brought all the UC services that Cisco offers within one box, which really removed the complexity for us as end users.
- All in one platform that includes all the Cisco UC services in one appliance.
- All the services are ready to use and preconfigured.
- Tools available improve productivity and user experience.
- More cloud based services need to be added to the default service package.
- Companies frequently require a small contact center within the UC environment. It would be nice to see a build it contact center in the box.
- It would be nice to see some advanced AI based services (IVR voice recognition service) in the BE7K application list.
- Call recording should be also built in.

Go for BE if you are moving to VoIP
It is being used across whole organization for hosting CUCM, CUC, etc. and to support telephone services via Cisco IP Phones and Jabber, etc.
- Comes pre loaded with OVAs.
- Comes preloaded with ESXi on some edition.
- Small box with small form factor and can host all major collab apps.
- Lacks on proper cooling.
- Faced some major high iowait issues with the HDD.

- ROI on purchase after several years.
- Expensive to bring up.
- Not open sip.
