As a small business firewall, it is easy to configure and manage. With the use of FMC, multiple firewalls can be managed from the same dashboard. This makes it easier for enterprises to manage their Firewall and also saves on management costs in terms of resources you need to manage the firewall.

I would say it is budget-friendly compared to a higher-end model, which is the whole purpose of the Firepower 1000 Series. It is designed to serve small offices, so it provides good ROI in terms of the security solution for the price paid. It also provides east of administration and management for companies who are Cisco-oriented and have been using it for quite some time.

The Cisco Firepower 1000 series next generation firewall has proved itself pretty regularly to be an important part of our security infrastructure. It works along side our ASA's, EDR, and other firewall solutions to improve performance, peace of mind, and ease of management with our current setup. It's shockingly easy to work with.

Cisco Firepower 1000 Series makes it very easy to configure and manage the firewall. We can easily deploy it in the existing network and not face any big downtime. It gives us more visibility of our network so we can put more restrictions on our network. The options section in the ASDM dashboard is very clear so we don't need to find the option during configuration.

I personally have used Firepower 9000's, 4000's, and even recently 1000's. They are quick, reliable, and very agile to just about any scenario that you can throw them at. We manage many clinics and patient data is always under attack. Once setup I actually get to sleep soundly knowing this product is protecting all that is coveted...Personal Health Information(PHI).

This firewall is very easy to configure and manage. The GUI of this firewall is very easy to handle. We replaced another firewall with this one and have not faced any issues. We have not experienced any downtime since the installation of Cisco Firepower. The options in GUI are very clear and there is a lot of documentation available on the Cisco website to configure and manage.

We are using Cisco Firepower 1000 Series for remote VPN as well as using its security features such as sandboxing & application filtering. It is easy to configure & manage the policies. It provides a scalable IPS Solution that helps us to network segmentation & prevents cyber threats easily. It is easy to integrate with other available solutions such as Active directory.

The equipment has great management and interface and it ends up being easy to create the rules and apply the settings. We had many valuable management operation tips through the Cisco community. The GUI interface helps to select the categories of sites to be blocked and to set up a site-to-site vpn.

FDM is a very simplified management solution but not complete, and FMC needs an additional machine to be installed, so any client could use FDM but they need to have a spare virtual machine. It's better to install FMC, but the weak point is that both FMC and FDM could bug on configuration deployments.

We are now fully integrated with the Firepower's; they replaced failing ASAs. We have a high availability setup with failover. These devices simplified our environment, removing older ASAs and F5 equipment that was no longer supported. They will allow us more security in the near future as we turn those features on. Our improved speed and security were badly needed here, we have had multiple threats both inside and out that while the old ASAs were able to help some, these devices are definitely a step up.

In a medium to large organization that needs IPS solutions, and has the budget to acquire the licenses need it to have those functionalities.
Cisco Firepower 1000 Series is not suitable for small organization that need IPS solution as the license can be expensive.

We have benefited from the Cisco Firepower 1000 Series's simplified administration; it has a configuration consistent with previous product families with the Cisco Firewall Suite. We are still able to use the standard CLI to continue to use standard configuration and use cases throughout our environment.

The first steps of configuring the device out of the box was in fact very straight forward and easy. Once its assigned an IP and up on the network, you can get it handling traffic very quickly and easily. Management interface is HTML based and snappy. Would like to see some more of the deep command line features make to the web interface, however.

It is a simpler solution to configure and manage than previous solutions. Easier to apply licenses and updates to the system, which allows less trained users to work on the solution. More wizards to allow for assistance with common tasks and processes. Overall good feature with Cisco integrating different solutions together.

We manage Firepowers deployed on multiple branch sites from a single central Firepower Management Center deployment in Azure. We were able to pre configure appliances centrally then ship them to sites without local technical teams required to support initial deployment. Configuration, logging, management and upgrades are all managed centrally by our core network team without requiring ongoing local presence to support.

Cisco's Firepower 1000 Series is easy to manage and configure; however, for the inexperienced engineer it can be tricky or confusing. There are many policy layers to manage, which can be a double-edged sword. There is an intricate level of access and inspection--or lack thereof--that can be configured for non-trusted and trusted traffic, respectively. This ensures the device is operating at the maximum efficiency while retaining security for the network, but being familiar with the software is crucial to set it up properly.

If there are issues in connectivity or traffic flow, I can troubleshoot the problem pretty quickly and resolve it right away. With a simple virtual packet flow, the firewall provides enough information to know where the problem is.
Also, because of its simplicity, it is easier for a junior network administrator to learn and master it.
