We utilize it as some failover for client sites. This had saved us when there was a full fiber cut at one client site.
  • Cellular reception
  • Wireless WAN
  • Failover
  • Monitoring integrations
  • Retuning the [Cisco] Meraki [MG] UI
This is very well suited for internet CRITICAL applications like Fintech or any form of public services. I do think that these units can be a bit pricy for what they do, but it is worth it 100% when it saves you from a major outage.
We were able to deploy this very easily, and it integrated into the organization's [Cisco] Meraki [MG] tenant easily.
Security gateways, routers, switches, firewalls, APs
I believe this is very scalable with the entirety of the [Cisco] Meraki [MG] architecture. Obviously, you just need to know the proper placement and expected traffic to justify the spending

We use Cisco Meraki MG in our organization to deploy, manage, and monitor our several access points deployed at various locations. It gives us access to see every single access point deployed and also gives us the ability to see which ones aren't working properly. Cisco makes it easy to manage our devices all in one place.
  • All in one
  • Simplified
  • User Friendly
  • License by device
  • Improved map feature would be good
  • More detailed analytics
For our environment, we have several substations miles apart that have Meraki APs that need to be monitored for when they go down. We use those APs for the line crew to access the necessary data to do their work. Meraki Management portal lets us see which devices are online and which ones are offline.
Cisco Meraki Management is extremely easy to deploy and really user-friendly. When adding or replacing any camera or AP you would just add it by the mac address and it appears on your management portal, You assign the Ip needed and you are good to go. We did have some issues implementing it with Cisco Umbrella but it's not a big issue.
We integrated our cisco product with various other products to monitor and protect our network environment. Our Splunk Enterprise is collecting logs from the Meraki products. We also integrated Cisco Meraki products with our in-house active directory to allow our employees to access the internet with the active directory passwords they have.
Cisco Meraki Management console is extremely easy for scalability. The only downside would be that it requires a yearly license for each device deployed. After having licenses the add and remove process is easy, just add the mac address and the Meraki console recognizes the device and it will allow you to add the IP address and add its location and name.

Managing the connections between devices and their destinations, and ensuring security while prioritizing traffic has always been challenging. In traditional environments, network administrators must be versed on many different products, using different operating systems, different portals, and no true overarching management layer. Meraki takes the complexity away by moving all the various components of a network to one portal, with a single place to apply applications and group or user policies for all your infrastructure. Using virtual stacking (up to 10,000 ports) projects like rolling out VLANS, updating STP, or applying QoS policies become a couple of clicks and are applied to the selected devices instantly. Enabling Mesh VPN between sites is now a checkbox, eliminating the cumbersome process of setting up IPSEC tunnels between each device. Roll-out of new sites is plug and play. Meraki allows for configuration in transit, giving the IT team the ability to drop ship equipment and have local hands plug it in. The equipment is then connected to the network, grabs DHCP, connects to the Meraki cloud, receives configurations, and is ready for use.
  • Ease of Management
  • Meraki Security
  • Some hidden features
  • You can't set up complicated firewall rules
Identifying and resolving network issues requires a combination of data collection, analysis, isolation of problems, and a human with an advanced network skillset. Meraki's reporting and troubleshooting tools aim to simplify this process by providing complete visibility into the route paths and physical layout of equipment. The software includes embedded tools to remotely ping, blink LEDs, measure throughput, conduct a traceroute, cycling of ports, WOL, cable testing, remote packet captures, a learned MAC address table, and an easily understood ARP table. Meraki's love of analytics and tools to assist in improving performance is rapidly outpacing the industry with the soon-to-be-released Meraki Insights, designed to give customers visibility into performance issues beyond your own network with visibility into ISP and application-specific performance. For wireless customers, the new Meraki Wireless Health provides detailed information on wireless networks, identifying poor-performing access points and providing context, so administrators can easily and consistently improve performance. Identifying and resolving network troubles is what keeps us up at night; Meraki lets us sleep easily.

Cellular usage is a viable enterprise-grade connectivity option has been steadily growing with advances in throughput and availability in particular. IDC estimates the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of the global LTE gateway market to be approximately 25% with around half of all enterprises using cellular as their current backup network solution for WAN connectivity.

We use Cisco Meraki MG cellular gateway along with our existing SDWAN to provide quick switchover to LTE in case of WAN failure. Most of the company was using legacy wifi APs from other vendors and over time the performance decreased drastically causing outages. This is when we evaluated Meraki and the decision to deploy was quick. Currently the entire WIfi uses Cisco Meraki MG as backup uplink
  • Manage LTE connections
  • Provide AI insights on user usage patterns
  • Provide connectivity details
  • Provide efficient roaming
  • AI features could be more, like a feature to pcap without intervention when issue happens
  • A refresh in UI is welcome
  • Add more rugged models
Cisco Meraki MG smplifies the route to wireless WAN connectivity and makes cellular a really good uplink option for many networks. MG21 can be used best as gateway to cellular networks, by converting LTE signal from a cellular provider to an ethernet handoff, which can be used as an internet uplink for a variety of use-cases.
The factor that Cisco Meraki MG can be used alongside traditional WAN gateways for LTE switchover has provided a lot of benefits to our organisation. Combine that with the excellent management using Meraki cloud UI this has been a very easy deployment. We could integrate it easily with the existing SDWAN solution provider - SilverPeak
  • Cisco 1000 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISR 1000)
It was very easy to integrate the Meraki MG with traditional WAN gateways that are in production. The Cisco ISRs that we have in network has integrated successfully to the Meraki MG platform to provide a seamless switchover form WAN to Cellular. Especially in places where WAN is more susceptible to outages.
THe product is highly scalable which was one of the main factors that drove the quick purchase decision. THe integration with existing WAN was smooth as well. Deployment of around 120 Meraki MGs was so easy even though we have a very small network team. The time taken was also very less.

Cisco Meraki MG helps you remain connected all the time. It uses a technology of a cloud managed WAN (Wide Area Network) designed to seamlessly provide a transfer of Cellular signals (LTE) to your ethernet for regular or connectivity in times of a failure of regular ethernet connectivity. It more or less acts like a backup for your internet connectivity for your enterprise. The great thing about it is that it is seamless. You will not face any delay or interruption. It helped our company remain connected even in times of internet connectivity failure thus helping our business run continuosly with no downtime.
  • Seamless changeover to LTE (Cellulor network) in times of failure of ethernet connectivity in your company.
  • Continuous backup for ethernet. No Downtime experienced.
  • It provides you with ability to manage all devices in your network.
  • Next generation Firewall, Traffic Shaper and Internet Gateway that is centrally managed on web.
  • Meraki Products are not configured to operate offline.
  • Had some issues with filtering features.
  • Advanced features need to be easy to access for users. Should be more user friendly.
Some of the scenarious where it is well suited:
1. If you want a non stop internet connectivity for yourself or your enterprise, then it is a great idea to use Cisco Meraki MG.
2. It uses a technology of cloud managed WAN and transposes cellulor (LTE) data signals through router for ethernet connectivity. So it is great on technology.
3. If you want a seamless internet connectivity when there is a regular ethernet connectivity failure, then it is very suitable.

Scenarious where it is less appropriate:
1. Cisco Meraki MG does not work offline. So no use if you are trying to use it without internet connectivity.

1. Cisco Meraki MG is a plug and play setup. We had no issues in terms of setup.
2. It is very easy to deploy however we need to register with cloud first as it is managed by cloud based WAN.
3. It scales and integrates well with multiple access points.
I have not integrated any other cisco products with Cisco Meraki MG. However, I plan to do the same in near future.
I think it is a very reliable, flexible and easy to deploy and use Internet Solution provided by Cisco. Very easy registration on web. Very user friendly in operations. Good Value for Money. Excellent ROI.

The Cisco Meraki MG is useful for providing internet service to areas of difficult access, I think something that could be improved is to provide more LAN ports and internal wireless antennas could be included to provide wireless service from outside. Commercially I also see quite well in a cost-benefit ratio.
  • Flexibility
  • Connectivity
  • Implementation
  • More features
  • Integrate wireless antennas
  • More LAN ports
Cisco Meraki MG can be quite well suited for scenarios that require a third redundancy option at the internet service provider level, such as SDWAN, it would be a good option in case the main connectivity links are lost. It is not recommended in scenarios where the cellular signal is poor.
The Organization has benefited from Cisco Meraki MG and its easy deployment and integration with the Cisco Meraki Dashboard and the wide visibility and monitoring that we can have. Another benefit is that we can provide a third redundancy option to the sdwan links between the sites. And third is its low cost versus the benefits it provides.
The integration of Cisco Meraki MG with Cisco Meraki MS allows you to extend LAN connectivity and with Meraki MS Switches you can have several service ports with access to the Internet and be able to create a traditional network, and you can even add an MX to provide firewalls to the network.
I give it this rating because it has allowed us to cover all the connectivity objectives that we require for sites that are difficult to access for service providers. In addition to the fact that it can be enabled very quickly and remotely without the need to have very technical people at each site.

We operate in different cities and the cellular coverage range varies geographically. Once we have the signal in the router, is easy to connect devices & repeaters to that router hub, but getting the signal itself is challenging. The geographical position of the server rooms vary across our premises, this is where the Meraki MG got us covered. All connected devices run seamlessly as the primary connection is strong.
  • Cellular to Wired Ethernet Conversion
  • No Signal Loss during Routing or Repeating
  • Works With LTE
  • Doesn't use full 5G bands
  • Free trial is very limited on options.
  • Doesn't support more than 2 gateway connections.
If you are planning to bring internet to a kiosk, trade show, or to the basement where you have your server room or any other location where coaxial cables won't help you, you can always depend upon Meraki MG By Cisco. It will get you connected to the network with ease and without any cables on the way.
The deployment can be a piece of cake if you have networking professionals onboard. It isn't different from how you usually implement the system which works fully on cables. It gives you more freedom on where you want to keep the devices. For IT professionals it should be really easy. The management part is also similar to the Wired system, Simple.
We were working with the previous generation of Cisco switches but it limited us to a 100mbps connection. Later we started replacing them with 1000 series switches, the difference in connectivity & speed is massive. The network origin is the Meraki MG & the whole network seems to work better with this switch.
In terms of scalability, The MG Meraki is unvanquished! As it works on cellular signals, as long as you have the required signal strength, you are connected. Removes the dependency on cables to connect to our ISP. So geographical locations do not affect the scalability of MG. Which is the whole point of having a Cellular to Wired Ethernet Device. And it can also be managed with the web centrally.

The biggest advantage is being able to operate from the portal, there is no need to "punch" the port on the WAN side for monitoring. No matter how much you limit the destination IP of the connection, the act of opening the port on the WAN side is extremely worrisome. It's a little scary to think that it should be the gateway to data leaks and attacks, but we don't have to worry at all and can handle it with Cisco Meraki MG.
  • Updates can be run from the portal, which eliminates a lot of sensitive parts.
  • From managing configuration information to checking current status and managing software releases, you can do it all with a single portal.
  • If you use Cisco Meraki MG, you don't want to manage it by connecting to network devices with SSH, etc.
  • A DHCP configuration would be fine, but a fixed IP configuration seems to require a twist in the configuration.
  • If possible, it's just a subscription. With no initials and just a subscription, I think it's a "feature product" that may convince the superior even if the price is a bit high.
  • I am happy with wireless and all in one, but I feel that the management screen is old, so I think it is better to renew it a bit more.
When I have had to work online in a hurry, I have been able to connect to the WAN immediately, so I have been able to do so without stopping work. It is now useful as a BCP measure because it is now possible to back up file servers between the bases. It is very easy to manage from the Portal. FW management so far is made easier.
The biggest merit is that you can query the device from anywhere as long as you can connect to the Internet. Since the license fee becomes a bottleneck, it is good to keep in mind that the equipment maintenance fee is included.
The portal can be managed in the cloud, allowing you to view configuration information management and software management.

Cisco Meraki MG is an excellent partner for those who want to use LTE as a regular uplink ethernet for an Enterprise. It is easy to use and can be part of your organization's plan to have more HA and more redundant. At work, we use it to add a backup link.
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to configure
  • Easy to operate with other uplinks
  • If a PIN is detected and requires configuration, the cellular gateway will stop here until resolved.
  • Troubleshooting could be more intuitive.
  • You always need to check the proper signal of the SIM in order for MG can function. Any additional alert could be fine.
Cisco Meraki MG could be used in those scenarios when you need a backup WAN uplink. Ideal for remote sites where Service Providers have no easy connections or no connections like Oil Industrial sites, Manufacturing areas, etc, etc. Cisco Meraki MG is less appropriate in those scenarios where you have already more than two Service Providers, however, you can also use it!
I have not sufficient words to describe how easy is to use Cisco Meraki MG, in fact, Cisco Meraki is a single pane of glass in which you can manage the whole platform from just one dashboard. Cisco Meraki MG is easy to install, easy to configure, and easy to operate.
Well, As I told you before it is amazing that you can operate and TS the whole system for a single pane of glass that is located in the cloud. The only thing that you need to guarantee is that every Meraki device has a DHCP IP and that they can go the Internet.
I really think that Cisco Meraki MG is an excellent product that can be used in any part of the organization when you need a backup uplink solution. As it is managed from the Meraki Cloud it is easy to integrate with your enterprise and any other platform you have in.

Working on network such a lot that it diminishes work expenses and along these lines sets aside more modest clients cash they can contribute somewhere. We are as of now moving to Cisco Meraki And supplanting the equipment gear in 7 workplaces across the world. • Adding of remote passage switches and firewalls are basic
  • Unified administration of all branch office Meraki gadgets and log perceivability is great
  • Cost of the Meraki gadgets isn't reasonable for Little associations
  • In the event that there is no web availablity, there is an association misfortune between Meraki focal control centre to the branch gadgets.
1. We can arrange the gadget without straightforwardly associating with the gadget at first.
2. Everything is Managed and arranged from the Meraki dashboard.
3. Choice to make profiles for various destinations.
4. Simple to make firewall rules and profile.
5. Simple to make VPN utilizing Auto VPN choice.
6.SSID and access point

Cisco Meraki MG has the simplest method for coordinating with any VPN administrations, and backing is all around very much made due. That why I have given this rating

Implement this Cisco Meraki MG solution in mobile ATMs for the withdrawal of money in different points of the coast. I also implemented it for bank branches with secondary links to lower the costs of traditional MPLS or fiber links which are much more expensive. It is a good solution different from what the traditional market offers as the last mile.
  • LTE connectivity
  • More efficient alternative to WAN options
  • Failover connectivity
  • The only downside / minor inconvenience is that you can only have 1 SIM per device
  • High cost
These small, rugged devices can prove useful in a wide variety of use cases. For instance: Deploy network access in a location that lacks wired Internet links Configuring the MG21 as a Failover Device for Critical Connections, in Case the Primary Ethernet Connection Fails
The implementation and installation of Cisco Meraki MG are very easy on the Meraki platform, thanks to the user-friendly interface.
  • Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
The scalability of the product is very great as the entire Meraki platform. As I mentioned before, it is very good for places where there are no other types of connections such as fiber or mpls services. In addition, this product can be used for any type of company or service that requires a connection.
