We are widely using the Cisco Nexus Dashboard in our Day 2 operations. It gives us proactive notification for a specific Anomaly in each of our ACI sites. This tool provides a more efficient way to detect possible faults before they can actually happen and provides us with a recommendation on how to properly address the detected anomaly. Overall, this tool really helps us a lot in maintaining the reliability and operation uptime of our ACI Fabric.
  • It provides monitoring for our overall ACI Fabric which includes the Controller, Spine, and Leaf Switches.
  • It gives you a single pane of visibility of all of your ACI fabric using Nexus Dashboard, no need to login to each of the multiple ACI fabric controllers.
  • Provides an assurance analysis to to your ACI fabric before implementing any change in configuration, they have the Pre-change analysis prior to the firmware upgrade.
  • Gives you the overall health of your Fabric and provides anomaly severity.
  • With the latest version release of Cisco Nexus Dashboard to version 3.0.1 I can say that most of the features have already improved but one of the wishlists that I want for ND is the possibility of extracting lists of Anomaly.
  • Include older versions of Firmware in the list of choices when doing the firmware upgrade analysis, currently only the recommended is in the list of choices.
  • If possible, include all the prechecks in the Firmware pre-upgrade analysis same in the script provided by Cisco.
I will rate it as 9 as this tool has provided a lot of features that are currently helpful in our day-to-day operations. It helps us detect errors and justify the configuration that we have in our Fabric is working as expected. It has the connectivity analysis in the newer version that we have widely used.

We use Cisco Nexus Dashboard in our ogranization to connect ACI fabric to manage the Data Centre infrastructure.
  • Efficient and super quick GUI
  • Provides option for helping fix your network
  • Sometimes the hardware can perform not up to standard
I think Cisco Nexus Dashboard should be used by anyone who has experience in SDA fabric or has Data Centre.

We use for having a transversal view of our fabric on the DC, for better view of errors and problems not easily sent otherwise. Very good technology but even better when we can integrate with AI. It seems to be a good option for optimizing our data centers and having a good view.
  • Troubleshoot
  • Monitoring
  • Orchestration
  • Detail of L2
Very well for monitoring Fabric State. Should give more options for enhanced efficiencies.

As a gold Cisco Partner, we are trying to position Cisco Nexus Dashboard Insights for our customers that have recently migrated to ACI. We are able to provide either a small demo in our lab or a PoC on client premises. The main goal is to help customer to have more visibility into their ACI fabric and simple operations. We see Cisco Nexus Dashboard as a very valuable tool when using PBR, or moving from Network Centric to Application Centric. Flow feature and traffic analysis are great tools also for Day2Ops.
  • Anomalies
  • Explore Feature
  • Browse flow
  • Change analysis
  • Options to customize the severity for the anomalies and even discard them
  • One time remediation for more know anomalies
  • Expand the Anomaly Detection for Routing Protocols Received Paths for other protocols than BGP
It can be very useful for ACI clients that are starting to use contract in the fabric, and for customers that doesn't have another flow collection solution. The flow feature can be very powerful. Also for new ACI users that are not yet conformable enough with the APIC GUI for monitoring.

We use Nexus Dashboard and NDI for multisite provisioning and management of our ACI fabrics. NDO allows us to have a centralized configuration controller that is called by in-house automation to deploy network policies. NDI allows our smaller team to see all aspects of the DC much quicker than looking through the APIC. NDI integration with NDO also allows less experienced associates to better understand and consume multi-site technology.
  • Easy to add sites
  • Upgrading the cluster has gotten better from what it use to be
  • fairly easy to stand up
  • NDI service takes exceptionally long to enable and is very finicky on whether it will fully enable
  • Day-0 configuration for NDO is extremely dependent on how things like multi-pod we setup on a specific code level - this caused us a lot of pain in getting our prod fabrics configured for multisite
  • faster upgrade process for physical nodes
Ideal for ACI fabrics and unlocks all the data and telemetry that is present on the APIC.

Now we buy more Cisco Catalyst and we have problems with Dana lessons because we must buy with our appliance, the D centers since we don't use D today to supervise our parks network. We are here to see what can be Cisco properties for the centers and we surely dial an aria with Cisco and buy this solution if it's a response to our ex.
  • Nexus in our data center we use the Nexus and it's solid hardware and we have a response for our extensions. I think it's a good appliance for us, and we have already worked with Cisco because Cisco is the better.
  • If I say we have more Nexus and more application on Cisco in our company.
We have a problem with Nexus, I can say just one to replace the fan. The fan and we have the SFPL as the developer to be in 15 gigabytes and we are in 10 gigabytes. After that, we have to migrate to the next generation of Nexus. We must because the system teams, our collect system teams, we obligate, we use to migrate for the next generation of next year, maybe 40 gigabytes.

Mainly we use for ACI monitoring and troubleshooting, we can quickly find the endpoint which caused the problem for IT system. Also for security advisory, system pre and post upgrade check. Nexus Dashboard is use to implement and use. Just only add Inband management connectivity and the whole ACI system picture in 15 minutes. Great tool.
  • security advisories
  • ep management
  • history of EP flapping
  • Nexus Dashboard should merge views from Cisco ACI and NXos into one common Dashboard
  • Nexus Dashboard should have a history of searching for information about the indicated endpoints
  • Nexus Dashboard for ACI should have possibility to check compliance wit best practice implementations
The Nexus Dashboard is very helpful when upgrading ACI from the current version to a newer one.It gives a full picture and information about the state of the ACI factory and all connected devices in one coherent dashboard, checks the information configured in APIC against the actual values programmed in the hardware

The product is supposed to help us recognize anomalies/bugs/alerts that cause problems. We also want to use it for pre-change analysis regarding configuration changes in Cisco ACI. Furthermore, we intend to use Cisco Nexus Dashboard for flow analysis and to monitor VMWare Hosts. The integration with Intersight should allow easier case management.
  • Cisco Nexus Dashboard/NDI Upgrades
  • VCenter integration
  • Bug reports
  • Alert rules are not working properly
  • Anomaly detection
  • Finding dropped flows
Cisco Nexus Dashboard/NDI is currently still under heavy development, and unfortunately, I feel the customers are being used as beta testers. We had Cisco Nexus Dashboard/NDI running for nearly a year now, but it does not yet help us in our daily business/tasks. Anomaly detection/handling has improved, but, in my opinion, is not yet good enough. In my experience, alert rules do not really work, even after the clean re-install recommended by Cisco.

Purpose of selecting and on boarding Nexus Dashboard was having a deep visibility into our DataCenter Networks.
There have been a range of tools and software that we have and are available in market to monitor Networks, but there was nothing like ND that we had heard of before we decided to onboard it.
Though our primary use case was visibility 3 years back when we purchased this product, we got modules like NAE and NIA complementary. But over a period of time we have consumed the information provide by these module and got used to it.
Finally it was great to realize that Cisco integrated all the 3 modules NIR, NIA and NAE into one, which is Network Insights now.
Being an early adopter of this product we have come a long way, from the days when we gave a hard time to our Cisco account management team for bugs and instability in the product, to a position wherein we have that advantage now of knowing and using this product to its fullest with all the new features and improved stability.

  • Visibility - Fabric stats/counters, telemetry flows
  • ACI Snapshot Tracking - EPOC management and delta on demand
  • Understanding Impacts of Changes in ACI and Implementation
  • Micro burst and buffer monitoring which becomes a very critical aspect of running Storage on IP in DataCenter environment.
  • Flow Telemetry - Need to overcome the restrictions of 20000 flow/sec. No DataCenter is small enough to pump only 20K flows per second. And we want to use this product for proactive monitoring so we cannot decide on a small segment to monitor flow for beforehand.
  • Creating tags and label for clubbing certain entities so that we can create customized dashboards to monitor and provide access to Operations team
  • Scheduled Reports and Reporting capability is lacking

Single pan of glass to configure and troubleshoot multi-site ACI
  • Troubleshooting
  • Easy configuration
  • Overview of all devices
  • When using filters in a field, you have to go back to the overview, otherwise the filter is not cleared
  • Sometimes it's not really visible where you need to go or can click to use an option
It will speed up troubleshooting and configuration. And even gives insight which you will not have when net using ND. I thin it's a must have when dealing with multisite solutions

It’s helping me make integration better between different Cisco ACI sites as it allows me to connect all of these. A single landing page makes life easier. The end-user can then quickly see trends in the organization/infrastructure and that leads to taking the required necessary action. It’s really helpful.
  • I can manage all my data network center flow from one management application, which is great
  • Simultaneously it helps a lot with automation
  • Upgrading, backing up, and configuration is now easier
  • The interface is a bit clunky and not refreshed to be modern/clean
  • It’s a bit slow and lags at times
If you use multiple Cisco products and need to integrate it to work from one place, this makes that easy

For the organization, it has been a big breakthrough and time saver solution. No doubt. The ability to use the dashboard as a Fabric controller. Use the dashboard to foresee any health problems that may be arising. The ability to manage third-party applications in the data center.
  • The amount of clear, concise programable dashboards with information at the click of a button allows the end-user to quickly see trends in their infrastructure or take actions
  • Basically, the fact that previous Cisco various services that were available have now been integrated into one single landing page.
  • I love how easy it is to manage services
  • Sometimes it is difficult to add some services
  • No improvement areas found as of now, I'm still in the process of familiarizing myself with the dashboard
  • Like all products, the Nexus dashboard will only get stronger with more revisions and versions.
Easily manage all your data center network flow from one management solution. Upgrade, backup, and configuration are quite easy and save my stuff's recourses. Bit pricey. Need to be purchased with vendor support. As far as I know, now support other vendors. I have NetScaler's that nexus is able to help bring together.
