My company uses Cisco Secure Access by Duo to help secure as many devices as possible with two-factor authentication. This includes web-based software, laptops, workstations, servers, and networking equipment. Cisco Secure Access by Duo allows us to help ensure that all equipment we manage is as secure as possible to help protect against cyber threats and provide non-repudiation of logins.
  • Push notifications are easier to use and more secure than time based codes.
  • Mobile app is easy to configure and use.
  • Product support is helpful and responsive.
  • Mac agent lacks offline code functionality, causing potential issues for traveling users.
  • Configuration of SAML is difficult.
  • Occasionally, push 2FA prompts are not received on the phone.
I would not hesitate to recommend Cisco Secure Access by Duo to colleagues. In today's cyber security environment, companies must take every step possible to secure systems. Two-factor authentication is a critical part of cyber security. Cisco Secure Access by Duo works very well for this purpose. The product has the added benefit of providing non-repudiation on valid logins.
Cisco Secure Access by Duo is very easy to use and intuitive. End users, even those who are technology-focused have no problem using and configuring the smartphone application. There is a slight learning curve for administrators when first configuring the systems, but after a short amount of initial learning, the product is very easy to configure.
It is hard to measure the exact cost that has been saved since any security breaches are prevented, but I have seen firsthand how expensive and time-wasting security breaches can be for Information Technology companies. In addition to the technology and human hours costs, a lost reputation can be a big negative hit for any company.
Cisco Secure Access by Duo support has been very responsive and helpful any time I needed to work with them to answer a question or solve a problem. I have worked with support for many software vendors in the past and Cisco Secure Access by Duo ranks among the best that I have worked with.

Cisco Secure Access by Duo is being used for remote access with Cisco AnyConnect in different platforms (Win, MAC, Linux) integrated into the Active Directory. Some users use their phones as second-factor authentication, while others use a Yubico Key. This implementation allows us to secure access to our corporate network with the Zero-Trust concept.

Also, we are using Cisco Secure Access by Duo as a Single-Sign-On solution in order to authenticate legacy applications and cloud solutions such as Google Workspace. It's totally recommended. You can have a dashboard to get detailed information about what's happening with the remote users.
  • Users easily self-enroll in minutes
  • Assess the health and security posture of any device
  • Reliable inventory tracking and reporting of endpoints
  • Easy implementation and very good documentation
  • High availability of the service
  • Easily enforce
  • Compliance
  • With Adaptive Policies
  • If you need to integrate some legacy applications to Cisco Secure Access by Duo, it's not easy.
  • If you want to have more detailed information and reports, you need to pay more for the licensing. The basic option is not enough.
  • A constraint could be that each employee has to install it on their personal smartphone, which some don't like. But, there is an alternative using SMS, although sometimes it takes too long to receive the message.
Cisco Secure Access by Duo is recommended if you need to enable multifactor authentication with no major effort to implement it, understanding you have to pay a license per user. It's important to mention that what you are paying gives you a lot of possibilities to enable SSO on your applications, even legacy systems., there is no need to pay extra for it.

If you are looking for free or cheap software, Cisco Secure Access by Duo is not an option.
It's a solution easier to manage if you compare it with others—faster deployment, very good scalability, easy to use, and simple to the end-user. There's no need to schedule downtime for patches and updates. It has a lot of out-of-box integration for many on-premises and cloud apps. As a cloud solution, it cuts operational costs in your data center, minimizing TCO.
Cisco Secure Access by Duo meets Compliance Requirements like PCI, NIST, and GDPR, among others. It allows minimizing security risk if there are compromised credentials trying to access critical business data. You can use push notifications, soft tokens, SMS, phone call, smartwatch wearables, hardware tokens, and biometrics options to enable second-factor authentication.
If you put a good set of policies in place, you can control compromised devices.
The support is very good. There is a pool of experts available to help you address any question. The response time is quick.
A highlight is documentation, which is well structured, available online, very detailed information even with step-by-step instructions, and is easy to understand. It helps you a lot during the implementation.

We utilize Cisco Secure Access by Duo to protect our windows logins, remote access logins, administrative logins, Remote Desktop logins, and VPN logins for ourselves and our clients.

Many of our clients are Automotive Dealerships, and Cisco Secure Access by Duo allows us to protect almost all of our important logins for ourselves and our clients and gives us the ability to satisfy the requirements of the new Federal Safeguard regulations.
  • Windows Active Directory Integration
  • Easy to install app on cell phone with easy usage
  • Alternate access via SMS text or phone call
  • Easy replacement for Google Authenticator
  • Some clients feel that the cost is a little high
  • Our margin on this product isn't tremendous
  • I wish Connectwise allowed us to use this for our MSP products
For our clients, it has been a lifesaver allowing us to implement MFA for their user logins, VPN access, and RDP logins. It has kept unauthorized users out of their systems.

I love the demo reseller portion that allows us to utilize the product for free and test it before rolling it out, and we continue to use it for free! Cisco Secure Access by Duo understands that the more we utilize it, the better we can use it with our clients.
Like all Cisco products, it can be a little difficult to configure and use properly. Once set up, it works like a charm, and we rarely have to reconfigure it or update it.

We do wish it integrated better with our SonicWALL firewalls.
It has stopped thousands of attempts to access accounts without authorization. Our clients utilize on-premise Microsoft Exchange, and we also use this for OWA for Microsoft Exchange. I can't even guess how many phishing attacks for OWA logins it has prevented.
We have never had to contact Duo for support, so I can't say if it's great or not. Hopefully, that's a good thing. Their documentation is OK, although, at times, it can be a tough read to implement properly.

We utilize Duo Secure Access for Multi-Factor Authentication to both our SSL VPN as well as remote access to servers, including RDP access to our Windows servers and SSH access to our Linux servers. One of the best things you can do to protect your organization is to implement MFA and Duo has satisfied that need.
  • The push notification in Duo Mobile makes it extremely easy to use MFA
  • The installation of the Duo Agent on all of our servers was quick and easy. There are even silent install commands so that they can be pushed out through your favorite deployment tool.
  • Duo is easy to set up and configure. You can add users or new devices on the fly as needed without hassle.
  • The one thing that is a little frustrating with Duo is that they do not have a Desktop app. You have to use the Duo Mobile app for authentication, which only works on Android or iOS.
  • It gets pretty expensive when you need to add a lot of users. It would be good if they could have some more discounts when you go above a certain number of licenses.
  • It doesn't work with any other authenticator, you must use the Duo Mobile app.
In my opinion Duo Secure Access is one of the best platforms out there for implementing multi-factor authentication to secure your environment. We evaluated several other products before deciding on Duo for MFA, and Duo was far above any other option in almost every category. The one scenario where it is not ideal is where you are unable to leverage the mobile app, such as if you cannot ask your employees to use their personal devices.
Duo Security Multi-Factor Authentication is so easy to set up. We started with a Proof of Concept to ensure Duo would be the right product for us. Very quickly within the POC, we found that Duo was a great product and easy to use. We were able to set up the Proxy Auth to implement MFA on our SSL VPN platform within a couple of days. At the end of our POC period, we were able to roll out the Duo agent onto about 200 servers (Windows and Linux) in about a week. Really though the only reason it took so long is that we were so busy with other projects. Additional the Duo Mobile app with the push notification makes it very easy to use from a user perspective as well.
There have been no data breaches in our environment since we implemented Duo Secure Access for Multi-Factor Authentication. The Duo does an excellent job of verifying the identity of our users and ensuring no unwanted or unknown entities are able to breach our network environment. We all feel so much better now that we've implemented Duo!
I have not worked with Duo Support much since we've implemented it as we just haven't had many issues at all. However, from the experiences that I've had with support, they are very good and easy to work with. My only complaint at all is that they were unwilling to help with utilizing a Desktop app for authentication, but their response was that that configuration was much less secure, and they did offer other options.

We used to login in remotely with our clients when conducting inspections but we also used our staff to login in from home when they telework. It gives great access to off-sites and communications with views of areas we need to review through our clients providing feedback on the program.
  • Great video communication
  • Link up quality is great and stable
  • Excellent audio communication on speaker
  • The system works great as it is.
The system does have a hard time connecting in areas such as basements, underground parking structures, or areas where the signal is weak such as rural areas. You will tend to get a lot of static breakup with poor quality in video views which breaks up the communication. Difficult to work in these conditions
Because we have very little downtime when an issue arises and we are able to fix the problem and continue the workflow which is very important in our sector of business. The faster we are able to resolve a problem the quicker we are able to back to conduction g business.
It's important that our organization maintain a secure communication breach at all times. We handle private information that needs to be protected and having a Duo security application to maintain that secure line is imperative for the organization. Data breaches these days are the main cause of malware and spam corruption into one's servers.
It gives us the simple steps to set up our staff with reliable login Duo security check in to our system for them to work at home when teleworking. It allows our clients to communicate with us remotely on a secure line with multiple options to address their concerns with the Duo step up.

Duo mobile is our Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for all the apps we use. While passwords are not enough to protect our public cloud environment, One Time Password (OTP) adds an extra layer of security challenges in order to access any company info or data. On top of our application that we access with SSO IDP and Duo, many 3rd parties services that we use support integration with Duo out-of-box.
  • Access to resources without VPN
  • Full visibility and monitoring
  • Integration with other tools
  • Device trust can be easier to set and with more capabilities
Cisco Secure Access would be ideal for dynamic fast-growing cloud base companies, that are looking for easy-to-implement solutions to improve their security and internal resources access. The solution can also work great with other Cisco products which are all monitored in the SecureX dashboard by Cisco. The Duo Secure Access is similar to other products in the market and if a company already has a No-VPN solution installed and no other Cisco security products - They should consider again if it's worth switching.
Dou Security is easy to use and super fast to implement in any organization, the rollout is clear and the app is intuitive for end-users. The push notification makes everything even easier and if OTP is needed, the app will show the number only when requested so the timer for the new OTP starts only when clicking on the OTP.
We use Cisco Duo MFA with our SSO IDP which provides us extra security in case of a breach with the SSO provider. Dou also offers API capabilities that help us to automate processes like provisioning and remediation. With Duo, we can add a challenge from stilling our data and also from internal users who like to browse or they shouldn't.
Cisco Duo's support is one of the best in the market and a great reason for choosing Duo as a solution for a company. We start using the product, and we had a few questions and special use cases, The support team helped solve them all while making sure we learn and understand exactly how to solve the issue.

We used Cisco Secure Access by Duo as our method for MFA (multi-factor authentication) for multiple applications (remote desktop, Cisco VPN, OneLogin, Darktrace, etc.).
  • Active directory sync
  • Ease of use for users and admins
  • Integration with other applications
  • Support other vendor hardware security tokens
  • More price competitive
You will need to use a Cisco Secure Access by Duo hardware token since it doesn't support 3rd party. As for pricing, some vendors like Microsoft have their own, so it might come with the license you already own. If you want easy management and use, this solution is straightforward.
Active Directory synchronization for users and groups, the admin console is very nice, and the integration setup is pretty straightforward once you understand it.
Yes, we have secured third-party applications that are supported by Cisco Secure Access by Duo, both on-prem and cloud-based.
Support is fast and very helpful. I am able to resolve or get my questions answered quickly.

Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is used by myself and the team to enable access and login to access secured applications and our private network. This solution is quick and easy to use, allowing access whereby the Duo app sends a push notification, which the user can then validate to log in. It solves by having a holistic, comprehensive approach to secure multifactor authentication. The solution works seamlessly and requires little to no training.
  • Simple, secure, and easy to use
  • Users can use a variety of authentication methods
  • Strong app support
  • Sometimes a push notification won't come through
  • Default data that is sent by the app may be to invasive
  • The app could use a visual overhaul
Cisco Secure Access stacks up well with competitors like PingID; the user interface is simple and easy to use. This solution is very scalable and could be utilized by organizations of any size.
The UI is user-friendly and easy to use, scalable, and works as expected. But once the app is set up, you either hit the big green button to accept the request or the red button to deny. It could not be any easier to use.
Since using this solution, there haven't been any significant breaches; however, we didn't have any before either. I recommend this to organizations concerned about security or need processes to comply with their specific industry best practices.
I have only had contact with support during the onboarding process, since then it hasn't been necessary. Despite the limited interaction, I was left with a strong impression of the overall level of support.

Cisco Secure Access by Duo is used in our company to grant a level of security when logging into the servers for various products. it is used as a two-factor authentication app when logging into emails or other websites and products connected to the system. it solves the problem of security within student accounts and protection of personal information
  • user friendly
  • security
  • reliability
  • device sign in time
  • amount of days we can be logged in could be longer
  • a more appealing look for students
Cisco Secure access is well suited in areas of protection of personal information. as many individuals would like to keep their accounts private and the information, especially with all the students that attend the university. I feel that it is pretty safe and a good tool. In some situations, it is less appropriate timing due to the short log-in times when someone is in a pinch those precious seconds are being used to log in when a login could last for a semester rather than a week.
it is very easy to use. I myself have been using it for quite some time now and do not mind using it to log into the various servers at the university as I know that my data is protected and do not have to worry about any information being taken from me.
Our company has benefitted greatly as during the pandemic the on-campus activities and courses had to be postponed so with everyone moving to a more cloud-based digital platform this tool was perfect to allow us to protect all the information being shared across the university. so far, we have had no reports of data breaches.
I would say I could not give this a rating as I have never as of yet ran into an issue where I would have to use their support or contact them for assistance as their app seems to be working smoothly with no technical issues that I can report. so, I would rate it as a 10 as no issues is a good thing with not having to contact support. but for the sake of this rating, I will give it a N/A

The connection is not robust enough. The team faces instances when the network disconnects after some time and does not connect automatically. The duo should improve on the robustness of the connection. Along with maintaining a vast network bandwidth. Duo system is used for authentication. There is a lag in the signal sometimes which hampers in user experience and drawbacks in terms of providing the best possible user experience.
  • Two factor authentication
  • Security for the end user
  • Bulletproof security against hacking and impersonation
  • Login authentication features could be a vulnerability threatening user accounts
  • Some Wi-Fi connectivity issues while using
  • No way to reject a call with a message.
Duo Security is a multi-factor authentication service that provides additional security for access to organizations and personal data. Employees, students, faculty and staff use Duo Security for websites with confidential information and for Office 365 applications such as Outlook for Email. Duo Security is a strong SaaS product to fill the infrastructure gap of 2-factor authentication for infrastructure.
It is quite user-friendly and easy to set up. The guide on how-to is quite useful as well as the steps are pretty self-explanatory. Duo Security is a multi-factor authentication service that provides additional security for access to organizations and personal data. I have not found any other 2-factor authentication application as easy as Duo Security.
Duo Security has enabled Organizational Agility. Duo Security has enabled a reduction in the total cost of ownership. Duo Security has improved end-user productivity & experience.
I did not get the chance to explore the Duo Security support which in itself talks very highly of the product and its features/functionality.

Duo has been implemented for years at my university. It was smoothly rolled out to 7,000 staff and faculty and now to our countless students. The non-profit I volunteer for recently switched to Office365 for email, and I was able to use Duo instead of MS's own "Authenticator". It's nice to be able to reuse the same 2FA apps across multiple uses and organizations.
  • Two factor authentication is simplified with Duo.
  • Securing accounts is paramount.
  • It would be nice to have a Windows companion app.
  • More consistent push notifications on older devices.
  • Able to change default notification sound.
Duo works great when integrated with our systems at our university, using both open-source IdP and Microsoft AD and Azure, Duo has an applet for it. Duo is a strong name in security and a new niche in Cisco's ever-expanding portfolio. Duo supports telephone calls, tokens/passcodes, push notifications, etc.
Duo is very easy to use. I enter my credentials, and the built-in applet our system engineers integrated, allows me to send a push or use a code. It can't be much easier when using push notifications or the built-in telephony components. The flexibility of appending passcodes to use alternate forms of 2FA is impressive and on-par for the industry.
2FA is proven to dramatically reduce the possibility of breaches. In cases where a user declines a push notification, Duo even asks if it was a mistake or if it was not the user that initiated the push (attempted breach). Yes, users can still be tired from reporting false pushes and eventually approve an attack, but clearly, the use of Duo/2FA dramatically decreases the attack surface.
I do not have experience with support for Duo from the vendor, but since I know it integrates well with premade applets and other Cisco appliances, it must be good.

We were required to introduce 2 Factor Authentication to meet insurance requirements due to a new policy change, we already utilized a Cisco solution for VPN access and we needed to cover Microsoft Exchange OWA access as well and Duo was a great fit. I had several options available but the demonstration for Duo was really straightforward and could be configured to our needs easier and more specifically than other 2FA options.
  • Provide a second layer of security with more than one option for verification
  • The App works with any smartphone and watch
  • Quick setup and really simple execution
  • There have been a handful of times when the Push prompt timed out
  • Some features seem to need added configuration options
  • The last app update changed the entire look of the app
I give this a 9 just because a 10 is rare in software, however, each of our users has found this 2FA App easy to use and reliable. Installation was free and fast (you must allow this app notification on your device) associating the app with our company is a simple text message and worked very well each time. I can see that a new replaced phone would be a simple push update to get them going again. And it is really fast to authenticate.
This is simple to install the free app, simple to associate with the company. It requires an authentication setup on a local server but even this was very simple to do. Rules flow in the order they are built and if one supersedes the other then that is what happens. We were able to meet multi-site access without prompt and still challenge users from outside those IP ranges. As well as a few other configurations with help from Duo engineers fairly quickly.
This has helped to keep remote access to our network more secure. It would keep a laptop with stored VPN or browser-based OWA credentials (which we discourage) from being able to connect without approval from the device owner in the case it was stolen. This has seemed to work very well with only a few timeouts that required multiple attempts.
So far support has been very good with a ticketing system via email. They have helped with the initial free trial setup, then after the purchase, I needed to tweak rules to get it set up in the way we hoped it would and an engineer was quick to call us and assist in the config. They provided documentation first and offered to help over the phone. At least twice we were able to just follow the documentation to resolve our question or issue, and the times we could not they quickly were there to assist.

[Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo] is used for TFA across the whole organization.
  • Simple interface
  • Ease of accessing TFA code
  • Reliability of service
  • Refreshing the TFA code can be a bit confusing
  • Setting up the account required coordination with IT folks
[Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo] is a lightweight means of authenticating software logins without dealing with infinitely-stacking emails or text messages accomplishing the same purposes. It loads quickly and operates simply, with a nice clean UI. It accomplishes its narrow purpose clearly and efficiently.
[Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo] is exceptionally easy to use as an end-user. It only takes a moment to open the app, and the necessary information is presented in a very clear format right on the front page. From there, it can easily be input into the relevant login screen. There's not much that could be done to make it easier.
To my knowledge, the organization hasn't had any data breaches, either with on-premises devices or cloud-based applications.
I've received prompt and effective technical support with no issues, on the rare occasion when I've needed it.

We use Duo for all of the employees at the university. We currently have it implemented for desktop and virtual machine access as well as Microsoft 365 access. It has helped us be far more secure than we were before the product was adopted. The most immediate impact was that our accounts were no longer being used by spammers when users were phished successfully.
  • It integrates very well with multiple products such as M365 and VMware
  • It allows for multiple security options including hardware tokens and a phone app
  • If users are locked out for whatever reason, it's easy to get them up and running again with the Duo admin dashboard
  • The admin interface could be a little better organized.
  • The pricing could be a little more favorable.
As far as multi-factor authentication goes, Duo is the one that everyone else needs to catch up to. There is a cost to it that can be more than competitors, but you can't beat the ease of use and the integration across platforms that it offers. It has been reliable with very few outages. The few outages we have seen have been short and we were well notified about both the issue and the resolution. Overall, the cost is far outweighed by the safety that Duo adds to your organization. Even a single, successful attack can easily cost far more than you will pay for the product.
Configuration was fairly easy and the support that Duo provides is excellent. They are willing to help you through whatever issues you're having or assisting in changes that you make after implementation. The users have had an easy time adjusting to the adoption of the product and they are also happy with the multiple options provided for authentication.
We know who is logging on to what and can be safely assumed that the user is who they say they are. There is always the chance that a user could lose control of a phone or a security token, but that is an issue that Duo can't control. Duo is a layer of defense that is necessary in today's world.
The support has been fantastic. They are willing to help with the initial configuration or reconfiguration after the initial install. Their online documentation is comprehensive as well. If you prefer to do things yourself, Duo makes it easy to do that as well. We are notified on a very timely basis if there are any outages and are told when the service segment is working again.

Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is used across the entire organization to enable access and login to virtual private networks as well as secure access to workstations and other secure software programs. This program is the standard method of enabling access whereby a push notification will be sent to the Duo app, which can then be manually validated to log into the actual program. It solves the business program of software security, enabling a method of protecting user access to workstations and to high-security software programs.
  • The program is simple and can be easily installed on a smartphone
  • The program allows for a secure way of logging into a program through push notifications
  • The program enables the user to add or remove different secure, two-factor authentication connections
  • The program has limited features and configurability
  • The program is not always compatible with other methods of two-factor authentication
  • Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, only enables authentication through the app, not providing other methods such as voice/audio/SMS verification
Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is well suited if there is a connection to a particular software program or service that requires secure, two-factor authentication. In this case, the user would install the app on their phone and would link it to the service, and each login will require verification through Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, to ensure that it is the user themselves securely logging into the program. This helps protect secure access to the program.
The program is incredibly simple and easy to use, which is one of the highlights of the program. On a smartphone, one must simply download the app from the app store, and then once it is installed on the phone, there is a simple and straightforward process to link Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, to the account through a QR code. It is as simple as this process could be.
The company has benefited from using Cisco's MFA to prevent data breaches by ensuring that all logins to user workstations are secure and are only enabled after being verified through two-factor authentication. This has helped protect overall IT security across the network. The company has also benefited from using this software to protect access to cloud-based applications which are high security, further ensuring that users must be verified before being able to access secure technology.
I have not currently been in a situation in which I have had to use the support services provided for Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, therefore I do not have substantive feedback regarding the overall support available for the program. Therefore, I ranked this as 5 (in the middle)--I have not heard of the customer support either being bad or good for this product.

As an IT department, our vision is to provide [the] most simple and easy-to-use service to our colleagues while maintaining [the] security of colleagues and the company. Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo is one of the main parts of our security architecture. Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo stands as a gate on the frontier to allow secure access on our systems. Most of our colleagues switched to working remotely [during] that lockdown period. As they require remote access, we need to provide [the] most reliable and secure remote access to them as the IT. Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo's important role, is undeniable on that matter as we verify their identity and protect their credentials. While we protect our end-users with Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, we also gain increased endpoint security.
  • Secure remote access via protected credentials with two factor authentication
  • Endpoint visibility improvement
  • Easy user identity verification via Duo app for end users
  • Security policy implication on personal devices of the colleagues
  • I have not had any negative incidents with Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo
Absolutely I would recommend Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo to my colleagues. Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo's implementation process, is painless and flows smoothly. Does not require too much effort on maintenance as it works like set it up and forget. Finally, its mobile app for end-users is easy to adapt, anyone ranging from beginner to pro IT user can use it without any problem.
Absolutely, Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo's usability is very well on both [the] admin side and [the] user side. Beginning from the purchase to deployment, Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo has been an unproblematic product. End users quickly grasped it thanks to Cisco's mobile app compatible with any mobile device. Also, they provide MFA dongles for users who [do] not want to carry a mobile phone in a clean lab environment.
The company has valuable intellectual property on the IT systems. Apart from that, the production process and automation of that machinery [are] connected to the IT infrastructure. Therefore, [the] end-user is our weakest point on the system. Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo increases security on this matter by applying [for] selective user access by identity verification and increased secure access by multi-factor authentication.
Since the purchase decision, they helped kindly on all our problems and concerns.

We currently use Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo via our IT Department at the moment. It currently addresses MFA for the following products in our environment: Carbon Black, MS Office 365 Email, LastPass for offsite authentication. I feel that it truly addresses a strong multifactor. We have done several penetration tests and during their compromise phase, they could not get into our email and into Carbon Black to change configurations to mask/hide alerts from being visible to our two-man IT Security Team.
  • I feel that MFA is a strong point
  • It is very easy to configure and it take no effort to setup MFA
  • User friendly ios application
  • Browser GUI is user friendly
  • Support in fantastic. You can call them and [they] can help with setup
  • Based on other competitors, price can be high for paid versions
  • Need more applications to support
  • Need to increase the amount of users for the free version, like 50 vs 10
Very well suited for Enterprises needing a strong MFA. Its very easy to setup the account, very easy to configure MFA for LassPass, Office 365 Mail, and Carbon Black. Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo does have a long list of supported enterprise applications. I feel that Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo doesn't fit the lass appropriate category as this application is fully designed to meet your MFA needs.
When discussing MFA, I feel that Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo is the first application that comes to mind. It is extremely easy to build a profile online, download Duo to your IOS device, then copy/paste the API's needed for validation. We are discussing rolling this out company-wide as we (IT Security) feel that this product will help to meet our needs for multi factors.
The benefits of using MFA is substantial. It adds that extra authentication layer that hackers simply cannot access unless they physically have your IOS device. On a personal level, I currently use Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo on Thinfinity so that I can access my desktop with WAN securely. The application just simply works out of the box. Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo is just plain powerful!
Support is incredible! I can simply call Duo /Cisco Secure Access, by Duo Support knowing that I will get a knowledgeable member of their staff. Support will help with any questions that you have and even offer to help set up any application no questions asked. I've called support a few times on where to locate the APIs for certain apps, they immediately pointed me in the right direction. Duo Support 10 user free version is rock solid!

Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo is our primary solution for managed service clients, as well as, our internal organization. The platform allows for central management of the application, integration with other cloud services for authentication, user device policies, and push notifications. We needed increased security within our organization, and Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo was precisely what we needed.
  • Push notifications
  • Integration with multiple cloud services
  • Granular device policies
  • Learning curve for initial deployment
  • Occasionally push notifications do not appear
  • Organization of saved tokens
Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo is well-suited for small to large businesses. We focus on the nonprofit and small business sectors and have found that this solution has met every need on the checklist. Organizations that are concerned about security gain peace of mind with a centrally managed console that provides insight into user installations, as well as, granular policies that can prevent usage on vulnerable devices.
Let me clarify this rating. From the end-user perspective, Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo should receive a rating of 10. The application is just as easy to use as any other authentication app the end-user may have previously used. From an administrator perspective, I would give Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo a rating of 8. The product is feature loaded which means there is a lot of settings admins have to learn for a successful deployment.
Our organization phased out all other authentication apps for internally used cloud-based applications and solely uses Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo. The integration with several cloud-based applications allows for more push notifications to be enabled, and it also includes the standard resolving token. Using Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, we were able to enable multi-factor authentication on all of our business services to ensure we have enhanced security deployed universally.
We have never needed to contact the customer support team for issues with Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo so I cannot give a proper rating. The reason is simple. For every issue we have encountered, we have found a knowledge base support article that shows how to resolve it. From that perspective, they ensure customers have access to great support articles without the need to call support.

Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is used by my organization as a security software when accessing applications and data sources connected through the whole organization. We use it with its two-factor authentication system across multiple devices using an authenticator app to allow access through multiple devices. This tool or application is used by our whole organization, solves a security issue, and provides data protection.
  • High-level security access
  • Fast connectivity and data transmission
  • User friendly
  • Does not allow you to save devices
  • Cannot remember users
  • Does not allow kept access after two days
Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is useful and very appropriate for keeping users who do not need access to other individuals personal information out. It has multi-layer security levels and has a lot hoops to go through. This extra level of security can be a hindrance at times because when you access for multiple days, it does not save the user or even the device.
Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo's overall usability is pretty high because we can use it to protect all of our sensitive information and it would make a security breach nearly impossible if an individual's account is set up properly; however, I did take points off because I personally do not agree with the ability to not save devices or recognize multiple logins, which can be a bit of a hindrance.
Due to the worldwide pandemic we are facing, Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is very helpful because it helped us get through all the remote logins and access that we needed to go through. We benefitted from it because it helped prevent many users who are not as experienced using web-based applications from having their personal data breached.
The support for Duo / Cisco Secure Access, by Duo, is pretty good. I have not had any issues personally; however, I have heard from the IT department about the quick responses we received and ability to give access to multiple users without a delay in service and have had no real major connectivity issues.

It is a tool used by everyone in the company and helps us protect ourselves with double authentication by having it integrated with our email server.
  • Two factor authentication
  • Protecting devices, apps and users
  • Directory sync
  • Have better management of already known devices and networks.
  • Access to internet-free authentication through the token.
  • Increased policy settings and control of users using Duo.
It is suitable for using Duo, whenever mail needs to be accessed, allows greater security without any intruder wanting to enter the tray.

Another factor is also PC or laptop login authentication, but that's not possible if you don't have an internet connection.
Because it is very interactive and easy to use although it becomes tedious when it must be done every 24 hours.
Benefited from no company user being exposed to theft or phishing, and that no one has access without an authentication factor from which it is only managed on any user device.
The problems that have arisen have been very easy to solve and Duo's support is effective and optimal in its solutions.

Our entire company uses Duo for quick and easy two-factor authentication.
  • Duo integrates seamlessly with all the platforms and apps our organization uses.
  • There is an easy mobile app that allows me to accept auth requests with one click.
  • I can use the Duo app for work as well as my personal accounts to ensure they are all kept secure with 2-factor authentication.
  • The mobile app often has alerts and pop-ups that get in my way if I'm looking to quickly accept an authentication ping.
  • The setting to 'send usage data' on the app is automatically enabled.
Duo is great for a growing company because it can integrate with your entire app suite and has an easy mobile app for when you're on the go.
Duo's user interface is aesthetically pleasing and highly usable.
Now that many employees are working off of home networks, having Duo in place gives the company great peace of mind by having the ability to verify users' identify across devices.

We use Duo primarily to provide multi-factor access (MFA) for our RADIUS-based devices, though we also use it for MFA with SSO. We are only using it for the IT team, since we use Microsoft MFA for most of the rest of the firm for remote access. We needed a tool with a straightforward interface to manage all of our IT admin MFA needs, such as fine-grained policies, per application.
  • Easy-to-use and streamlined GUI for administration/management.
  • Lots of MFA options such as code, push, SMS, etc.
  • Industry standard with backing by Cisco, positioning it for high adoption and growth.
  • Unable to set time-based MFA bypass based on username and source IP, making the solution unnecessarily administratively burdensome.
  • Hand-edited configuration file, which is prone to errors and difficult to manage.
Great for organizations that need to deploy a solution that is used by a small group, given that Duo charges per account; however, be careful if you have a lot of service accounts that you want to set to bypass MFA, as you will have to pay for each one of them, as you would for any human user. Also good for small IT teams that need a solution that has a very straightforward and easy-to-use GUI. Finally, while it has a decent amount of features and functionality, don't expect it to be able to do every permutation of policy that you can think of, though Cisco is promising future updates and solutions (e.g. an adaptive product) that will address some very specific use-cases, such as MFA bypass based on user and IP.
The initial administrative setup can be challenging, particularly when it comes to configuring RADIUS proxy and integrating with an on-prem RADIUS server. The configuration file is text-based, and while the documentation is decent, it is error-prone and one really needs to understand how RADIUS works and what parameters need to be passed through, copied, modified, etc. Cisco pre-sales did help us with standing up a PoC, which saved us some time and trouble, though it was still a significant effort.
The whole purpose of MFA is to make sure the user that is authenticating is who they say they are and are authorized to perform the action. Additionally, if credentials were compromised, an attempt to use them that would trigger a MFA request to the actual user. This is an added bonus, alerting that the credentials were compromised and investigation and remediation can take place. While we are fairly early on with our Duo implementation, I have no doubts that it will prevent intrusion and data breaches.
Most of my support has come from the pre-sales side, as I haven't done much with post-sales support. The engineer was helpful, though it would have been even better if he had more production experience. Hopefully the backing by Cisco will give Duo support the deep bench that one would expect out of Cisco.

Duo is being used across the whole organization which encompasses four different business divisions for a total of between 350-375 employees. We use Duo as a part of our two-factor authentication when logging into our network from off-campus locations. This last year with the pandemic, the number of employees that were added to remote network capabilities increased by around 70% which meant more people were getting set up and using Duo. I have not heard of any problems and it has helped us maintain secure access to the network, which is vital in the industries we compete in.
  • It is simple to setup
  • On-click verification
  • Can have multiple two-step authentication connections at one time.
  • I can't think of any area that I would improve it.
  • The user interface is great, easily readable, and friendly. How do you improve on that?
  • The color scheme is generic, but not necessarily boring.
Duo is great if you really desire to secure your access to a network or website account through two-factor authentication. I actually use it personally as well to help secure my access to some of my social media accounts. I know that if I am using it to get approval for access, I am confident that I have a secure connection.
This is a very easy application to use. The installation is simple, the user interface is user friendly. If you have been reading my review to this point, you should understand very well that I have said that this is a good product to use for multi-factor authentication. From an administrative point of view, deployment was easy as well.
Yes, my company has definitely benefited from using the Duo multi-factor authentication solution. I don't know if we are using all of the features that could be used but from what I am able to do, and the purposes for which I use it, I know that it is doing the job that needs to be done.
I have never had to use support for Duo, so should I give it a 10? Maybe if I had the need to use their support.
