In our organization we have a very large amount of unstructured data, access to that information was very complicated, now with the IBM Cloud Object Storage access is very simple, we can access the information from any of our offices in the country, in addition to Search capabilities that allow us to access information more efficiently

IBM Cloud Object Storage is a very robust product that can be deployed on-premise and allows us to store all kinds of information for uses like data archiving and backup, web, and mobile applications. It was a bit complicated for me to enable Kubernetes pods to access IBM Cloud Object Storage buckets, but in the end, it worked very well

I think it is very beneficial because of the robustness and security it provides us.
I think it is a point where the transfer rate could be optimized.
It is very beneficial, it is an aspect that I think is a great advantage because not all the information should be in the fastest storage, placing the information in its correct place helps us to optimize storage and final costs.
At the end of the day it is an IBM product that gives us a guarantee of being very robust, it is very safe, and reliable, and it also allows flexibility.

I only use it for my learning section via Courser. IBM Cloud looks very similar to some competitor's products. However, there are a few companies have a much larger market share in the cloud space.
  • No credit card information needed for a free account.
  • Simple to use.
  • Fewer users.
It is good to use for an individual but from an enterprise perspective, it may not be a great option since the coverage and the service are still not comparable to some market leaders. As a result, I would give a 7 out of ten due to the reasons mentioned above.

  • It's been a positive implementation overall.
I have not yet used such a function in IBM Cloud but it sounds very interesting. My company is currently using other products for a similar purpose.
Well, the effectiveness of data transfers to and from Cloud Object Storage is definitely very important since the speed of data is always very critical to data scientists.
The different class tiers for active, cool, cold and dynamic data from IBM Cloud Object Storage offers is very important for a company to reduce the cloud storage fee and find the most suitable service for the need of the company and by having this feature, an organization can be more effectively manage costs.
Well for my self, the IBM Cloud Object Storage is required for the Coursera course and fee to use without credit card information, therefore, it is a no brainer for me to use as an individual. The IBM Cloud Object Storage has all cloud computing services that the major competitors do, and provides good services.
The implementation of IBM Cloud Object Storage is on the cloud which means you do not need to install any software. All you need is to login with your platform account via any web browser, which is pretty standard in the industry comparing with aws s3. Then you can generate instance for IBM Cloud Object Storage.

Since my company is such a large company, the tool is covering very large scale and does not make sense to go with cheaper options. If I am going to use IBM Cloud support for my own personal project, I would definitely use the basic support, which should cover all my needs.
Whenever I need support, it has been very easy to reach out to them via email, despite sometime answer they gave is not exactly what we really need.

  • Contributing to the IBM Developer community
  • Access to IBM and Developer communities through Stack Overflow or GitHub
  • IBM Cloud product demos and tutorial videos
  • Chat with Watson
The IBM Cloud Docs and IBM Cloud product demos and tutorial videos are very good source to get initial start up help and basic understanding of the tool. The documentation is very detail and you can get most of the general information from there. In terms of any specific help, stack overflow is the place.
overall the support for IBM cloud products are very good. Self guided support is sufficient from the cloud doc and tutorial video and IBM expertise is generally helpful. As for IBM developer communities, it is relatively small than other major competitors. For example, some unique question might not find quick answer from the communities easily.

We have been using IBM Cloud Object Storage since 2019. Overall, it fits very well for the needs of my department: it is quick, easy to use, and easy for first-time users. Creating object storage instantly is the best feature, literally, it takes 10 seconds. The user interface is easy to use and easy to learn. I have a stable and robust parallel file system thanks to IBM. The support desk is so helpful. When I am in need of help, I can reach them quickly. Their response times are satisfying my needs. Lastly, it is secure. I know my data is in the hands of a trusted company, IBM.

As a chemicals company, we have a huge archive that consists of chemical syntheses data. This data needs to be stored securely. Recently, on-premises solutions have become unsustainable for our company. Hard drive faults, data breaches, and regulatory compliance needs make it harder to keep data on the company site. Thus, we decided to switch to the cloud. IBM provides fast and secure service. Their pricing scheme is affordable. Their support team really helped to facilitate the migration of tons of data to IBM.

  • We saved a lot of time, as we do not have to maintain on-premises data storage anymore.
As a new user of IBM Cloud Object Storage, my experience is good on data transfer. Migrating our terabytes of data within 2 days was the best thing about it.
Chemical syntheses data of our chemist needs to be accessed from time to time. As these data are the intellectual property of our company, we need to store them securely. IBM's solution is useful for our needs, these data are not accessed all the time. Also, our log management system creates tons of data each second. As a part of data governance, risk, compliance policy we store these data on IBM. Thus, our department's job becomes easier.
As a nature of chemicals company, chemical syntheses data archive takes a big space on our servers. After realising that on-premises solutions is not sustainable anymore, we decided to switch to the IBM cloud. Before we start to migrate data, we needed to look over all our data. But, thanks to IBM support team, implementation process ran smooth and fast. Literally, it only took 2 days to start to use the new system. We planned it to be take 5 days based on our estimations. IBM support offered help on migration and it was the easiest backup transfer for our company ever.
Yes
IBM's professional service for migrating data and implementing new cloud environment was perfect. They started to help us before we begin to bring together all data such as how can it could be best to transfer all data without problems. During the migration they watched all the process closely to prevent any failure. Lastly, after the migration, they gave us trainings on implementation.
Advanced
We used Advanced level of support as we have lots of sensitive data and our team lack of knowledge on cloud implementation. However, IBM's advanced level support was really helpful and relievingfor our IT team.
Earlier we were looking for a cloud solution to store and protect our intellectual property data. IBM's sales team has real professionals who have hands-on experience about these kind of migration and cloud planning. They spent a lot of time for planning the best solution for Nation Farm. After the migration, they were good as well.
  • IBM Cloud product demos and tutorial videos
I have been working in IT sector for more than 15 years. I have worked with various vendors. IBM's sales team, support team have been really helpful. After we start to use their product, their UX design team also contacted us to get feedback from us. They are really interested about our experience.
