Haven't used any alternative CDN, we did use Plesk to manage our server now, though, what replaced Cloudflare (new server), we also use the Free Let´s Encrypt SSL for the certificate (that was the reason we first tried Cloudflare), also the Nginx reverse proxy managed by Plesk. We basically replaced having Cloudflare to fix our server limitations with an oversized server.

CloudFlare is always innovating fast and adding new interesting solutions to the CDN, DNS, and DDoS problems that keep appearing as the internet grows and matures. Due to network effects, using CloudFlare is easier, faster, and more reliable than the competitors, and their support is super fast. I have used other solutions in previous companies like Akamai but their APIs were not very easy to use and their interfaces were not that friendly, also their CDNs were not as fast to clear the cache.

We have been using the DNS manager that is supported by our VPS services on Linode. But our Sysadmin is not happy with that, he tells us that the DNS manager menu is too simplified. And we have to take a long time to change the DNS name too (maybe it's because of our ISP too), but Cloudflare takes it to another level. Since we use Cloudflare, we don't have that problem anymore.

As far as pricing and features, Cloudflare is much better across the board. The number of edge locations around the globe ease of use makes Cloudflare a clear winner.

I like Cloudflare due to its extensive set of features and powerful tools. Its current distributed architecture can handle the magnitude of today's threats and can fully prevent DDoS attacks of all types and sizes. I love to use this tool because it also enables me to simply integrate applications into my websites without the requirement for a professional. Cloudflare provides me with several tools that are not offered by any other alternative and it fully improves the performance and security of our website, that's why I picked this tool among others.

We have also looked into Securi Platform for WordPress. It has nice features that are comparable but the pricing model was less compatible with our organization. The SiteGround plugins for WordPress also helped with caching, but it could not compare to Cloudflare on speed. We considered other cloud hosting platforms (Amazon AWS, Azure, etc.) but they were more expensive and were not as easy to set up as SiteGround VPS + Cloudflare.
Choosing a good host is important though, Cloudflare works best in combination with a host that follows best practices.

A lot more than a CDN

Cloudflare offers a FREE plan, that just works. And if we need to scale the project, then we can upgrade to a paid plan with no hassle. Most of our caching plug-ins and servers integrate with Cloudflare in a simple way, and most competitors don't. It's crucial for us to move fast and have a reliable CDN partner like Cloudflare.

Compared to CloudFront, CloudFlare provides a great deal of value beyond simply being a content delivery network (CDN). We have found ourselves in some cases using Amazon CloudFront in combination with CloudFlare because we might have a bunch of assets stored in Amazon S3 which we want to have available via a CDN easily and CloudFront provides that.

We still want the other performance and security features offered by CloudFlare though so CloudFront cannot be seen as a direct replacement unless all your company wants is a CDN.

We did not use any other services for this as we know and understand that CloudFlare is the leader in the industry and we wanted the best setup possible. They also came highly recommended from our hosting company. So not too much to comment on here.

Prior to Cloudflare CDN we used Namecheap's Supersonic CDN. The change for us was incredible. For example, simply the information that we could consult in our dashboards is definitely superior in Cloudflare.

[With] the technical results of the change in the CDN, we greatly improved L Contentful Paint, and other metrics such as Time to Interaction, which helped us improve the SEO positioning of our site.

We use CloudFront in combination with Cloudflare on some of our sites where the content is stored on AWS servers. It works well together as long as the records are set up properly. Ultimately we use Cloudflare as an easier solution to integrate with and one that is bulletproof to set up quickly.

I've used Sucuri in the past and they are comparable but I found Cloudflare to have a more streamlined interface and the pricing is super clear. Sucuri has large annual plans only for website security which is nice but not all clients want to bill annually. The time to remove malware from a website is also slower than Cloudflare and although I've only had to use it once, I'd much rather have a shorter turn-around time than to have to wait or purchase an even more expensive package.

Cloudflare provides "beginner-friendly" DNS services at prices that are very competitive for firms like ours that don't have enterprise-level workloads and spend. Using Cloudflare's services is much more straightforward and simple than the competition, yet advanced functionality and capability can be availed of when the need arises. It's a perfect mixture of being feature-rich and capable while maintaining simplicity and straightforwardness and having very competitive pricing.

Cloudflare outperformed our previous provider in every category. We went from a constant headache with DNS to having near-zero issues. Support has also improved incredibly. Cloudflare's reps are always there when needed
