We are using CF as the Edge Cloud provider, for web application firewall security, and to accelerate end-user response time globally.
  • SSL management
  • Cache - secure CDN
  • Argo - optimize global network response
  • Looking forward for the finally release of R2 -- like AWS's S3 solution.
  • Pricing: We are using the Business tier. I hope there will be a Business+ tier. Enterprise has a too high price start point.
CF really got the product done right. UI and ease of use to manage to make many tasks so easy and fast to do.
  • Positive: Totally accelerated our cloud services in many countries, including China.
  • Positive: So much easier to manage SSL certs, CDN, DNS, and server-less app deployments.
  • Negative: Too high of the price for Enterprise. I hope there is a one for tech startups.
I think CF is the best in Edge Computing -- for WAF, global optimized network routing, and ease of use to manage SSL, DNS, CDN, etc.
It took us about 2 weeks to move every app into CF for WAF protection, DNS, and CND. Also, it took us about 2 months to learn how the server-less code deployment works on CF. The team has been very impressed with the product (technology and ease of use).
We filed a couple of bugs. One of them helped the CF team to improve the product. But it took about 2 months to implement to get the bug fixed.

I reported an issue with WAP, and it was routed to their senior tech team, and eventually solved in a big way -- they had to make a system change to resolve the issue for all users.
We are very self-sufficient. Their online tools are very helpful. My questions to our account manager typically get answered within a day.

CF is a core piece of our cloud infra.
Yes
DNS management (CF is much easier to use).
Cloud app deployment using Workers.

  • Product Reputation
CF has the best product in the industry -- I have been very impressed with it.
I will still go with CF.
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
Phase 1: Global DNS and WAP
Phase 2: Workers -- cloud instances for serving apps
Change management was a small part of the implementation and was well-handled
Just focus and get it done within a short window of change.
  • initial learning curve (CF's terminology and design)
  • migration and test, then optimize our setup
  • debugging issues with WAP
After 2 months of testing, debugging and optimize, I am very happy with the global performance using Argo.
  • No Training
I have the technology background to learn and implement quickly.
I like that they are improving and adding features incrementally.
Starts with the core functions. Get them right, then expand to use more features.
No - there is no facility to customize the interface
No - the product does not support adding custom code

It is a well designed and engineered UI/UX, and it is fast.
So far it has been very reliable.
Their Argo for the global network is the core feature we love.

We use a lot of Workers.
It is good. But it can be easier over time.
Start small and focus. Keep it simple and working, then expand.
The sales team is fast and get to the point quickly.
The initial sales team was not responsive. Then the later team is very helpful.
Not much. Standard light Ent terms.
Do your homework and know exactly what CF can do.
