  • Fending off server attacks
  • Makes managing DNS records simple
  • Domain registrar services are simple and a great value
  • The renewal date on domain name registrations needs to be specific about the day in which it will automatically renew a domain and ding your bank account. I've had it put me in the negative when not watching the bank account too closely. As a result, I've had to just disable the auto renew feature on upcoming domains to avoid any surprises.

  • Registrar and DNS services are impeccable, with registrations done at cost and without ADs. DNS services setting standards for speed of resolution.
  • DDOS protection. With their content distribution network to back them they have the bandwidth and tools to be both proactive and reactive to bad actors.
  • WAF - Their Web Application Firewall helps mitigate common site vulnerabilities and has active zero-day protection running for breaking exploits
  • Restricting SSO to enterprise accounts disadvantages smaller organizations using products like Google Workspace

  • A key benefit has been Cloudflare's scalability, allowing us to manage traffic spikes efficiently without major infrastructure investments. Additionally, its security features have fortified our site against DDoS attacks.
  • Cloudflare's resizing, compression, and automatic format conversion capabilities have significantly enhanced page load times while maintaining image quality.
  • We are not able to completly replace AWS or GCP with Cloudflare, some services are missing. But they seem to be adding more services frequently.

  • Cloudflare delivers our site's static resources quickly. We also use it for public DNS, SSL acceleration, WAF and DDoS/bot protection, and fast network routing.
  • Cloudflare is also used for logging for analytics.
  • Cloudflare helps us stay fast, redundant, and protected..
  • Some website owners may find that the level of customization offered by Cloudflare is limited, especially in comparison to other solutions.
  • While Cloudflare is easy to set up and manage, it may be too complex for users who are not familiar with web technologies.
  • In some cases, using Cloudflare can actually lead to slower website speeds if the network is congested or if the website's traffic is particularly heavy.
